Let’s talk business

We had a very gloomy weather today with a lot of rain. I was wondering where the rain water did come from when it was raining the entire week. There’s not much of sunshine to drain the water and turn it to rain again. Well, that’s what we learn from our Science subject in 4th grade right? Read the rest of this entry »

Actually, it’s sunbreak already

ACTUALLY is one of the words that amuse me lately. Ella was doing good in learning to speak English and three nights ago, when I was telling her to come up in bed she made me and Donald burst in laughter. “ACTUALLY, ‘di pa ako inaantok.” (Actually, I am not sleepy yet.) And she pronounced the word pretty well. I asked her where on earth did she get that word and she answered, “Galing kay Rabbit.” (It’s from Rabbit.) Yeah, Rabbit. The keritz lover in Winnie the Pooh movies. She’s really learning. :-)

Oh bummer…

Today is Saturday and as I have already said, I like this day more than any day of the week because it is “market day”. Since we skipped going to the market last week, we planned in going there today to buy fruits and vegetables that I really need.

Yesterday, I was checking my eon account if the $35 I transferred from my paypal account has already been sent but until this morning I still haven’t received it. I was puzzled how come it took so long for the money trasnfer when it usually takes 3 days for the whole process? So I checked my paypal and I was surprised that the $35 is still there waving at me. What a bummer! Read the rest of this entry »

The perfect motivation for a 5-year-old

Photobucket

Woke up too weak to move. Stayed in bed until Ella left for school and was still under the covers when she was back. Yesterday she made Donald angry when he went to pick her up to school and she was still there writing, the last to finish I think. Like what the teacher always say, she write very well but she is such a talkative girl. So yesterday while the others are copying what the teacher has written on the board, Ella was busy talking to her seatmate. When the time to dismiss the class, she was still halfway through it. Lazy day

I am such a lazy bean lately…or should I say more lazy than usual. It was drizzling when Ella woke me up. She asked me to get up and make her breakfast. Thinking that it was still 6am and Tadiday was still around (she usually leaves for school 15 minutes before 7am), I told her to ask Ate Tadiday to make a bowl of cereal. Feeling so lazy and sleepy, I closed my eyes and tried to go back to sleep. Minutes later I heard no sound in the kitchen, I dragged my feet out of the bedroom to see Tadiday’s room is empty and Ella was not in the house. I called her name and looked in the gate. No sign of Ella going out. I opened the back door and there she was in her knitted jacket and boots, sitting infront of the church with umbrella parked on her side. I called her in and prepared her breakfast then I looked in the wall clock and was surprised to see it is 15 minutes going 8 in the morning! Ella’s class will be in about 15 minutes! I woke up Donald who has been up almost the whole night. I decided not to give Ella a bath. I rubbed a wet towel all over her body and dressed her. No uniform today. Friday is their FREE day. She was fussing earlier and was saying she do not want to go to school but I told her she can wear her boots and raincoat to school….and this made her jump out of her seat.

The whole day I spent most of the time in bed tossing about with a book on my hand. It wsa a book I have read a year ago and I loved it so much that I wanted to read it all over again. I hate the feeling of being pregnant…I mean this phase, the 1st trimester where you feel nauseated and tired all the time. I wanted to eat but I do not know what I like. My mind changes from time to time and Donald is going crazy too like I was because he is the one who runs to the market to get peanut, custard cake, ripe mangoes or anything that a crazy pregnant could think of. Yesterday I have not decided what I wanted to eat for lunch when I smelled the neighbor’s roasted pork. We ended up roasting pork too.

Tomorrow is market day again. My favorite day of the week. No class. No need to wake up early and the thought of what I could find in ukay-ukay makes me more excited. We will also buy things we needed for the Meal Fellowship on Sunday. I have to prepare two dishes and I decided to make chopsuey and my favorite sotanghon guisado. I have to stick on vegetables because we will have lechon (roasted pig). And oh I hope I won’t forget to get two bottles of different vitamins for me. My OB prescribed two vitamins that I would take alternately. I need to make the baby healthy because one of my friends has delivered a premature baby and the doctors have to give the baby legal steroids to help develop the lungs.

throw some doughnuts

Today is National Heroes Day. Ella has no class and she was very pleased as she said she doesn’t want to go to school anymore because of the bullies. I cooked Bihon Guisado in the morning and I have to call Donald to help me stir it from the pan. I bought 1 kilo of bean noodles plus the vegetables that goes with it so it is pretty muck packed in the pan leaving no room for me to stir. It was also the birthday of JanJan, Ella’s playmate who turned 4 so I gave most of it to them.

In the afternoon, it was too hot and I feel like I am going to sweat all the fluid in my body. Even the fan could not help! I have slept for only a few minutes during my nap. I am just soooo glad that at 5, the sky turned so gray and it began to drizzle. I decided to check on Cat5e patch cable on the internet.

I feel really pregnant now LOL My tummy is bigger than with my first pregnancy. With Ella, I have climbed a mango tree in my FIL’s farm when I was 7 months pregnant. And we wonder how Ella have fit in my tummy because she turned to be a chubby baby. I crave for donuts but I could not find any decent one in the market. There is one bakery which makes doughnuts but they are so hard that it might leave a black mark on your face when thrown at you. I think I have to revise the old adage: IF AN ENEMY THREW A STONE ON YOU, THROW A DOUGHNUT BACK ON HIM (AND HE WILL SURELY LEARN HIS LESSON)

Wanna see stars?

It was drizzling early in the morning and we had no problem waking up Ella for school….you just say she can wear her raincoat today, she’d jumped out from bed in lightning speed. Me and Donald are coding for more than 13 hours since last night. Glad that the boss lets me ask Donald to take my post when I needed to pee or rest for a while. The whole day was wet! But I cannot let the laundry sit there for another night so I went out after lunch still drizzling.

At 10 in the morning, Donald went to fetch Ella bringing her boots. She was even more thrilled to use those used rain boots that we have bought at the Ukay-Ukay stalls in Tagum last week. When we went to Tagum, she saw a pair of pink rain boots and insisted on buying them. But I told her to stay with the pink one and I will look for a nicer pair. Luckily we found a yellow Pooh boots that she tried on and would not want to remove it. She want to go home, riding a bus with rain boots on in a starry starry night. Now she finally got the chance to wear them, grinning from ear to ear while walking.

I have washed the curtains last night and was not yet completely dry but I will hang them anyway and let them dry up. For the clothes, I hope in three days it will get dried. :-( With this weather, I doubt if it will.

At school, some of Ella’s classmates (boys) are making fun of her everyday. From Monday to Friday, she will tell me one has kicked her canteen on the grass, the other put her bag in the trash can and one has spat on her notebook. I cannot enumerate all the other foolishness these kids has done to her. So last week, I have told her what to do in case someone bullies her. I grew up with bullies and I am thinking I was a big moron not to have scared them. I have told her what she must do and what she must say. So today Ella reported that there were boys who keeps on pulling her hair. They kept doing it even she tried to ask them not to….so she stood up and said to them with her hands on her hips…”Do you all want to see stars?????? Pull my hair and I will show you some stars over your heads.” And they stopped. That is my girl! ;-)

I think I should teach her that because just last week, a girl in Ella’s class was pricked by a sharp pencil on her right cheek. The poor girl was spitting blood and was rushed to the clinic. When I heard about it, I told Ella not to let anyone do that to her and let the bullies run for their lives when they try to bully her by saying the scariest things she could think of.

Wet Tuesday

Today it was raining early until late in the afternoon. After I logged out from OHJ at 8 in the morning, Ella was already off to school. Ella was so thrilled when it rains….look at her when she came home from school.

Since it was raining most of the time, we snuggled in bed…all three of us. The neighbor who is making furnitures went here to confirm about the study desk that we wanted to order for Ella. Her plastic table was lost during our move from the city, so Ella was using the same table we are using for dining. The all-purpose table because I sew, cut pattern, knead dough, and Donald is studying there too for his sermons and ninle studies. It is actually a table intended for the engineers that made the plan for the chapel. A high table that my neck is leveled to the table when I sit down. What we are doing is we double the monoblock chairs for Ella and Donald so they can reach and I am using my computer chair that can be adjusted to a certain height. So having a study desk for her will be a great help. Only we are crossing our fingers that Ella will make use of it :-)

Bye for now…I am called for back up for OHJ…I hope I can blog hop tonight and probably can help my friend Suzy find a saddles for her babies in the ranch. I did some blog hopping but wasn’t able to comment. See yah around!

Summer heat is off!!!!

I was complaining about the hot weather yesterday (and my title of that post: Summer heat is on!!!) that it didn’t give me any right to fuss about the weather today  God must have heard my grumbling yesterday and he sent Mr. Sun somewhere to hide so I could concentrate on my task. We had rain showers almost the whole afternoon and goes on until tonight. I was trying to finish my task but dysmenorrhea disturbs me same as the internet connection that is too slow which I suspect due to the rain shower. So…..this means it will be best to suffer summer heat than having a slow connection
