Heading to the water still on diaper

I am such a good procrastinator and I have proved that for the nth time. Read more… »

Wash or sew?

I just finished sewing new set of curtains for the living room mainly because I can’t live without it, I want privacy and I want a dim house. I did some little cleaning in the kitchen this afternoon and took down the curtains but I am too lazy to wash it. It was soaked but it’ll take me more time to remove the spots from I-don’t-know-where than I imagined so I dug in my box for fabric. I find it a lot easier and more fun to sew than do the laundry. :-)

It’s almost midnight but the kids are still wide awake. Ella is hard at work with her crafts while Eman is busy with my soft tape measure. I hope this means my little guy will love numbers and math will be his favorite subject. ;-) Well the little girl is inclined to arts and I absolutely don’t have any issues with that. I actually would want her to be an artist or anything related to arts, fashion and the like. Yeah, fashion. She is learning to dress up her Barbie dolls with her handmade dresses made of scraps from my cloth diapers and baby slings.

We are loving the oldies music on Donald’s playlist……remembering the olden days. :D Go to go now because Eman is sitting on my lap now and is trying to reach the keyboard with his fingers and toes.

Personality test

At last I am done with the diapers! Ummm….not yet actually but close to getting it all done.  I thought I can’t finish it because the sewing machine is acting up again. I have yet to sew the soakers and the free canvas bag since the woman ordered one dozen. I was contemplating if I still throw in a freebie since she asked for a discount already. I think I have to be firm next time because hey it is no joke to be sewing cloth diapers if you are choleric. LOL

And there is also the baby sling that I still have to make…..and then I read my sister’s comment in the previous post about a fellow blogger who wanted a couple cloth diapers…..and some other text messages asking for a quotes. While I was sewing earlier, I was feeling so overwhelmed. I am not sure if I can meet the demands if there will be and I started telling Donald that maybe I can give jobs to other moms out here. I am now open to the idea of hiring some help  but they should pass the personality test. I wanted a choleric too. LOL I am just glad that two of my customers are sanguine and they just leave it to me to choose the color. I am not saying that other personalities are hard to work with but I just feel like they are the best clients because they simply don’t care. LOL

So am off to do some more sewing. Just had a break to feed the little guy. Have a blessed day ahead!

still sewing

I am really slow in updating my blog. Sorry for my few loyal readers….I am just busy with with my little business which I hope will soon be launched. Today I made a one-size-fits-all diaper and I am very happy with it because I just made the pattern myself. I have searched online but there’s no free pattern that I have found which uses velcro. All I found uses snaps and I don’t have a snap press. I don’t have the $7 either to purchase the pattern so I just fiddled around and made my own. I think the average number I can make each day is ONE diaper. LOL I can blog while breastfeeding but I CANNOT sew and feed Eman at the same time.

Donald has been very supportive with every plans I have especially when it could bring in more moolah. hehehehe. Cheche is also a big help. She was here for over a week now and she helps in the kitchen and take care of Eman while I am on the other house. Other house? Yes, Manang Inday let me use her sister Leila’s house as my sewing house room. It’s just a few steps from our house so I can run home each time Eman wants to eat. Tomorrow will be Sunday again and we have to get up early. I wish we live close to People’s Park so we can also join my sister Crislyn and BIL on their tae-boo session. They say it’s free and I love stuffs and services that are free. LOL It is a great way on how to burn fat. I don’t know if I want to trim down but I guess I need to so I can fit on my jeans.

House rules

Not much going on here today. Ella went to school in the morning, watched movie (again) when she got home, ate, slept, played. Donald made himself busy on the pc tweaking his blog and blog hopping and me on the sewing machine with my cloth diaper project. I already did 24 cloth diapers which still needs to be sewn with velcro. I hope I could still sew the last 12 pieces tonight and tomorrow morning as I am really wanting this project to be “officially” done before we leave for Ate Lourdes’ house in the afternoon for our weekly bible study. All in all I will be having 6 newborn size and 36 small size cloth diapers. I do not want to run out of it when the weather is not fine. Read more… »

Want some popsicle?

We accomplished a quite huge task yesterday….that is doing the laundry. ;-) I say it’s huge because if you check my previous posts, the last time we did the laundry was last January 16. :-) Blame it to our crazy weather. Just imagine 10 full loads of laundry in the washer not to mention the whites which I hand washed for four hours. :-( We spent almost a week this month in Davao and I did the laundry there but it didn’t help lessen the pile after pile of dirty clothes. It was yesterday that I heard Donald regret about not getting the automatic machine. He promised that if he did earn from blogging, he would get me one. Maybe here we really need it since Mr. Sun always plays hide and seek with us but if we move back in my hometown where the weather is nicer, we could be fine with our washer. So today, most of the clothes are already dry after we gave ourselves some exercise of running outside to gather them when it drizzles and putting them back on the lines when the sun shows up.

Ella’s doing better and better during her wake up calls. She would not complain anymore about being sleepy and she’s really enjoying the three days in a week that they will spend the entire day at school. I asked her to pose for me in the camera before heading out the door. Read more… »

Halo-halo Espesyal

I had a very bad leg cramps that woke me up early in the morning. I can’t move my right leg and my gastrocnemius was like being twisted very very tightly. That was the second time I had it and the pain is still there each time I move my leg. I could tolerate the cramps on my feet but not on my legs. :-( The pain is really bad and all I could do is moan. I could not get myself to wake up Donald to help me. I was able to go back to sleep after what it seems like eternity of agonizing pain. I am just so thankful my muscles relaxed and the pain went away.

When I woke up, Ella was holding a denim dress and said she will go to the chapel ahead of me. I slowly made myself get out of bed because she hasn’t showered yet. Donald just came from the bathroom and made me a cup of hot coffee (not that strong….I know it is bad for me but let me have it just for today) and then he fixed a bowl of cereals for Ella. I have 11 kids in my class today and all looking forward for the food. There is a little boy who is always accompanied by her mother (who also has a 3 month-old baby) in our class and I was able to try the cloth diapers to the baby. The newborn size could still fit her but the small size is better. Such a tiny baby. She only weighs almost 3 lbs when she was born. :-( Read more… »

Valentine’s surprise

Photobucket

When we went to Tagum last Wednesday, Valentine decorations at the mall’s lobby caught Ella’s attention. She was insisting that we should get her one of those red heart boxes. For her, Valentine’s day is as special as Christmas  and I had no idea where did she get that.

Time to brag

Yeah, since this is my blog, I have the right to do so. :-) I just want you to see what has become of the stacks of fabric I had last night.

Photobucket

I planned on having 6 different prints and I already did an exact calculation before we left yesterday of the fabric that I needed. But then, I had no idea how it slipped off my mind and only got three printed flannels (which adds to my first two prints) so I was just able to make 5 cloth diapers in different prints. When buying baby clothes, I wanted it to be by half a dozen or a dozen and that is also the same with sewing. I wanted it to be even. That’s an issue with me so I think I will be getting another print when we go to Davao.

Our day yesterday

I should be starting on cutting the fabric for the cloth diapers last night but I was so tired from our trip that I didn’t even knew I’ve dozed off while putting Ella to sleep. :-( I am so happy that Donald didn’t have issues on my new project and went with me to Tagum yesterday to buy materials since all I could find here in town are pongee and tetoron fabric. Not good for cloth diapers. :-( What I got are flannels in different prints. I also got the plain white for the inner layers and the soakers.
