The weatherman said there would be a lot of rain tomorrow which made me think if we should start building an ark now because the rain seemed to last forever. I was still up at half past one in the morning and decided to check emails when the power went off and if I have counted it accurately, we had 15 power interruptions until late this afternoon. Thank goodness it’s freezing cold in here because I’d be dead by morning endless hours of fanning Ella. Read more… »
As me and my sister Crislyn looks forward for the day that our younger sister Cheche will finally graduate from college this March, Ella is now getting impatient to graduate from Kindergarten too. She said she’s tired of getting up and taking a bath so early but I told her that when she’s in 1st grade in June, she needs to get up and go to school earlier. Read more… »
ACTUALLY is one of the words that amuse me lately. Ella was doing good in learning to speak English and three nights ago, when I was telling her to come up in bed she made me and Donald burst in laughter. “ACTUALLY, ‘di pa ako inaantok.” (Actually, I am not sleepy yet.) And she pronounced the word pretty well. I asked her where on earth did she get that word and she answered, “Galing kay Rabbit.” (It’s from Rabbit.) Yeah, Rabbit. The keritz lover in Winnie the Pooh movies. She’s really learning. ![]()

I am such a lazy bean lately…or should I say more lazy than usual. It was drizzling when Ella woke me up. She asked me to get up and make her breakfast. Thinking that it was still 6am and Tadiday was still around (she usually leaves for school 15 minutes before 7am), I told her to ask Ate Tadiday to make a bowl of cereal. Feeling so lazy and sleepy, I closed my eyes and tried to go back to sleep. Minutes later I heard no sound in the kitchen, I dragged my feet out of the bedroom to see Tadiday’s room is empty and Ella was not in the house. I called her name and looked in the gate. No sign of Ella going out. I opened the back door and there she was in her knitted jacket and boots, sitting infront of the church with umbrella parked on her side. I called her in and prepared her breakfast then I looked in the wall clock and was surprised to see it is 15 minutes going 8 in the morning! Ella’s class will be in about 15 minutes! I woke up Donald who has been up almost the whole night. I decided not to give Ella a bath. I rubbed a wet towel all over her body and dressed her. No uniform today. Friday is their FREE day. She was fussing earlier and was saying she do not want to go to school but I told her she can wear her boots and raincoat to school….and this made her jump out of her seat.
The whole day I spent most of the time in bed tossing about with a book on my hand. It wsa a book I have read a year ago and I loved it so much that I wanted to read it all over again. I hate the feeling of being pregnant…I mean this phase, the 1st trimester where you feel nauseated and tired all the time. I wanted to eat but I do not know what I like. My mind changes from time to time and Donald is going crazy too like I was because he is the one who runs to the market to get peanut, custard cake, ripe mangoes or anything that a crazy pregnant could think of. Yesterday I have not decided what I wanted to eat for lunch when I smelled the neighbor’s roasted pork. We ended up roasting pork too.
Tomorrow is market day again. My favorite day of the week. No class. No need to wake up early and the thought of what I could find in ukay-ukay makes me more excited. We will also buy things we needed for the Meal Fellowship on Sunday. I have to prepare two dishes and I decided to make chopsuey and my favorite sotanghon guisado. I have to stick on vegetables because we will have lechon (roasted pig). And oh I hope I won’t forget to get two bottles of different vitamins for me. My OB prescribed two vitamins that I would take alternately. I need to make the baby healthy because one of my friends has delivered a premature baby and the doctors have to give the baby legal steroids to help develop the lungs.
Today it was raining early until late in the afternoon. After I logged out from OHJ at 8 in the morning, Ella was already off to school. Ella was so thrilled when it rains….look at her when she came home from school.
Since it was raining most of the time, we snuggled in bed…all three of us. The neighbor who is making furnitures went here to confirm about the study desk that we wanted to order for Ella. Her plastic table was lost during our move from the city, so Ella was using the same table we are using for dining. The all-purpose table because I sew, cut pattern, knead dough, and Donald is studying there too for his sermons and ninle studies. It is actually a table intended for the engineers that made the plan for the chapel. A high table that my neck is leveled to the table when I sit down. What we are doing is we double the monoblock chairs for Ella and Donald so they can reach and I am using my computer chair that can be adjusted to a certain height. So having a study desk for her will be a great help. Only we are crossing our fingers that Ella will make use of it
Bye for now…I am called for back up for OHJ…I hope I can blog hop tonight and probably can help my friend Suzy find a saddles for her babies in the ranch. I did some blog hopping but wasn’t able to comment. See yah around!
It is feezing cold today. I went to bed at 2 am and Ella, who usually doesn’t want to be covered with blanket, whispered to me “Mommy….pa-share ng kumot….” (Mommy, let me share with the blanket….) Poor Ella. I hate it so much when I’d be awaken by freezing cold and I could not move my hands to grab another blanket. It is raining early in the morning but Ella never complained about taking a bath in this weather because Donald heated up some water. She was in her long sleeves and jeans today to keep her warm in school.
In the afternoon, I had an informal online job interview for Online Home Jobs (OHJ) and was asked to complete a task. My eyes are rolling as if I am having seizures. I cannot keep my self awake so I dozed off for a few minutes. I’d be having a 3-day training graveyard shift beginning 12 midnight until 8 am. I hope I can stay awake the whole 8 hours
I will be having cup after another cup of coffee just to keep me from dozing off.
We had mushrooms for dinner (again), Ella and Donald is going more crazy over it and I am happy with that as I like mushrooms so much too. We had company over dinner, Charlie is Ella’s friend who is turning 10. He was the one who helped Ella bury her chick. I like Charlie more than any other friends Ella have. Here’s their photo together taken during Ella’s birthday. Glad Tita Crislyn went over here for the party with her new SLR camera.

Hopefully I’ll have my camera back so I can start taking photos again. I missed it so much and I wanted to join the group of the camera crazy group
I hope I can get some sleep before my training tonight but I think I will stay up blog hopping.
Last night as I was writing my post here, there’s trouble with my internet connection. I wonder why it does have an x when it was not raining. I asked Donald to call Smart Bro and was told that there is a problem with the connection. So in the morning while I was still in bed, I heard Ella climbed down from bed and went outside. Then a few minutes I heard Donald calling Ella and it sounded like the voice comes from up in heaven
I guessed he must have been up there on the tree! I was feeling so lazy to get up early so I just listened what was going on. He sure did climb up the bread fruit tree to turn the antenna. Last night’s strong wind made it turn 180 degress so it isn’t picking signal. I was not actually expecting him to climb up there as it is too high and I am not used to seeing him climb trees. The tree does not have too many branches to hold. I was grinning from ear to ear when he said he already fixed it and was even too proud he has done it
It was like a great achievement to him so I did some cheering and if ever there was a medal lying around here, I awarded him one
In the afternoon it did rain again….very hard! The wind turned the antenna 180 degrees again
I was really upset when wind blows the antenna….but glad that Donald said he will climb up again when the rain will stop. I waited for an hour or so and the rain did stop. We went outside and I was afraid he might fall. He insists on me being there to give him moral support
The bark is wet and slippery but he did bring a rag to wipe a spot before holding onto it. Brilliant idea!
So what I did to help was to give him direction where to turn the antenna. When it was done, I felt like my neck couldn’t hold my head. Maybe I strained it from looking up and from yelling too. It was hard to coach someone to climb…which branch to step on…which foot to step…which branch to hold…a choleric indeed! Got to go and find the usb flash drive which I will be needing for tomorrow.
Last night I received my first earnings from my online job (oh not actually received because I have to wait for 10 more days to withdraw it). Not so big though since we are paid weekly, but it was enough to wake my sleeping nerves
Before the boss sent the money through paypal, he sent me another assignment to work on.
I woke up late this morning. Ella was still asleep lying beside me when I heard the kids calling the dogs names. Puto and Maya whines and barks, the dogs seemed annoyed by their presence too. I was half awake and could not get myself up to shoo the kids away. I just closed my eyes in hope that they will leave. When I could not stand the noise and was about to go out, Ella stood up and dashed outside to greet them :-( Well….I pray that it will rain early tommorrow so I could have longer sleep and not be awaken by them
I have an essay to submit today so I sat infront of my pc to get it done a few moments after Ella woke up. I have four days to work on it and I just can’t understand why I can’t get myself to write until the DEADliestLINE. After the essay, I worked on the 4th assignment sent to me last night. I did it in 6 hours which takes me two days to accomplish before. See, my nerves are awake and kickin’ Last week was hard because of the squidoo pages that I am working seemed not to cooperate.
Good that it rained this afternoon. My prayer was answered too soon
But it’s okay. The kids didn’t come back after lunch. Ella stayed inside and has taken a nap which she doesn’t do for a period of time since we stayed here.
Whew! My lower right back is aching. Maybe due to my uncomfy computer chair or my posture. I have to end it here since I have posted “novels” on my previous entries that may have bored you.
I was complaining about the hot weather yesterday (and my title of that post: Summer heat is on!!!) that it didn’t give me any right to fuss about the weather today
God must have heard my grumbling yesterday and he sent Mr. Sun somewhere to hide so I could concentrate on my task. We had rain showers almost the whole afternoon and goes on until tonight. I was trying to finish my task but dysmenorrhea disturbs me same as the internet connection that is too slow which I suspect due to the rain shower. So…..this means it will be best to suffer summer heat than having a slow connection
Ella has slight fever last night but subsided after I have given her cold compress. In the morning, she played with the dogs outside while constantly coming in to play in the pc. Tonight she is feverish again, this maybe because of the change of weather. I called her in when when it was getting dark and she wanted to play Penguin Diner again. I should be submitting my report tonight so I refused. This sents her pouting all the way to the room. I pity her. She plays all by herself with boxes, tupperwares and her crayons and papers. I know she wants her toys so I asked her if she wants me to bring her doll house and she nods. Good that she is very easy to please
She even plays with Lola Carmen (my sister’s mother-in-law) Ella call her baby and she takes care of her, asking if she already had her milk etc. Every night that her Lola Carmen arrives from the office, they will play mother-baby thing. Sometimes Lolo Tony (my sister’s father-in-law) plays with them
For many nights ago, they can coax Ella to eat dinner with them and they have this contest who finishes first. Ella is looking forward to chocolates that Lolo Tony gives her when she has cleaned her plate
But sometimes Ella would call for time-out because she could not consume everything on her plate. Even so, good thing that she had still chocolates. :-)
Yesterday, Ella was muttering “Sana gawa na uli si Lord ng ulan…” (I hope God will make rain again). I asked her why, her short reply was “Gusto ko kasi sana maligo sa ulan…” (I wanted to bathe in the rain) God must have heard her innocent request and so today, it did rain AGAIN. I was awakened by giggles and loud voices, I stood and went to see what’s going on. And there she was, playing in the rain with her daddy
Well, she need to experience that once in a blue moon. We seldom let her out in the rain, she had played only 4 times in the rain in her whole life. So that’ll count once every year :-) Still half asleep, I grabbed my camera to take a few shots of her once in a lifetime privilege.
I was amused how children ask God for something. I can not help but smile everytime Ella prays. She would thank God for the food, for the bed to sleep on, for mommy and daddy and even prays for a friend who is sick, the dogs and the cat. I had a book Children’s Letters to God. I was dying to have one before but I can not spend that much for a new book. When I found one in the bookfair which is more than half the price, I didn’t had any second thought. I would like to share some of the letters written by those innocent kids. I bet you would also grin from ear to ear.
