It’s freezing cold up here. The lowest is 23° C (73.4° F) and it has been pouring since morning. For a warm blooded like me, that number could send me under my blanket and hibernate but I can’t do that now. I need to get my hands on the sewing machine for my orders and work on my new website.
We had a heavier rain yesterday and so the frogs went out to play.

They are like frogs. They love the rain. They jump and play. This is their favorite bonding moment.

Weather is constantly changing here. We had sun early in the day and had a heavy down pour at night while we were at Manang Inday’s cousin’s place for dinner the other Sunday. They say when it rain, it pours and so that is what really happened. It’s getting late and there’s no power so we really have to go home. Here’s the little man wearing his rain coat out of plastic bag.

Ate Rose, the one who came from the US whom I talked about my previous post, asked me how am I taking care for my kids that they are both ‘big’ babies with oh so chunky legs. There’s nothing in particular. It’s not in the formula since Ella was bottle fed while Eman is breastfeed. I think it’s all in the genes because I am a big baby and so was Donald. So if you got this heavy baby, packing him around will make you loose weight the way a diet pill works.

After a sumptuous dinner with BIL’s family (his whole family i.e. Dad, Ma, brother and sisters and their families) last December 27, we spent an hour (I guess) outside Victoria Plaza for some photo op at the huge tree. After some snaps, we broke in different groups (three I guess) just chatting. Here’s what Donald, Ella, Cheche and I can do to kill the time. Read more… »

I think it’s time to build an ark. I don’t know how bad the picture is but Ate Aling (Charlie’s mom) said the floodwater reached their living room and their dear pig is now taking shelter at the porch.
Donald went out to buy coke at the store and he have seen that the lots next to th

Still God isn’t done washing the earth and by now, everywhere I look is pretty soaked. I was planning to send Cheche’s tuition fee through xoom but changed my mind at the very last minute. The fee is for me unreasonable, and since she has our Daddy’s atm card, why not just send it directly there. I asked Donald if he has any plans on going to the market today and he said none but he went anyway after I told him that sending the money through xoom will cost much.
We spent the whole day just inside the house which is not new at all since we rarely step out of the house. If only the bathroom inside was done, we won’t be going out at all except for Donald and Ella going to school or market. There were even days when the gate was left locked for the whole day. Tomorrow, Ella’s class will resume and I will go out with them because it’s my pre-natal check-up and anti-tetanus shot. I hope the weather won’t be too nasty tomorrow as I do really hate getting out in such a bad weather. Read more… »

I don’t know why I feel so tired when all I did all day was sleep, eat and sit infront of the pc. I can’t seem to wait to move. Maybe because we already had a plan on moving that made me and Donald both impatient of being like under house arrest. We had nowhere to go except the market (glad we discovered the nearby resort last Sunday). It was actually Donald who was always bugging me on why do I love being here when he wanted to live in my hometown. So now he won. He finally convinced me that Kabacan is where we belong. Okay okay…but we have yet to wait until March or maybe April before the big move. So this might be the reason of me being restless. Read more… »

I woke up hearing the monotonous sound of the raindrops. I heard the alarm went off earlier and was still very sleepy to wake up Donald. It’s the first day of the week and Ella is suppose to be at school. I feel guilty sending her off the school in such weather and yet I feel even more guilty of letting her miss another day at school. When Donald told me that the teacher sent a text message earlier informing us that there would be no class until Wednesday because her MIL died, I felt better. Not because of the MIL’s death but because Ella could spend three days at home. It’s been raining endlessly and the neighbor’s are now flooded. Glad that we have higher grounds here because I do not know what to do with floodwater coming inside the house. Read more… »

The weatherman said there would be a lot of rain tomorrow which made me think if we should start building an ark now because the rain seemed to last forever. I was still up at half past one in the morning and decided to check emails when the power went off and if I have counted it accurately, we had 15 power interruptions until late this afternoon. Thank goodness it’s freezing cold in here because I’d be dead by morning endless hours of fanning Ella. Read more… »

As me and my sister Crislyn looks forward for the day that our younger sister Cheche will finally graduate from college this March, Ella is now getting impatient to graduate from Kindergarten too. She said she’s tired of getting up and taking a bath so early but I told her that when she’s in 1st grade in June, she needs to get up and go to school earlier. Read more… »

ACTUALLY is one of the words that amuse me lately. Ella was doing good in learning to speak English and three nights ago, when I was telling her to come up in bed she made me and Donald burst in laughter. “ACTUALLY, ‘di pa ako inaantok.” (Actually, I am not sleepy yet.) And she pronounced the word pretty well. I asked her where on earth did she get that word and she answered, “Galing kay Rabbit.” (It’s from Rabbit.) Yeah, Rabbit. The keritz lover in Winnie the Pooh movies. She’s really learning.
