Fried ostrich

Early this morning I woke up with a very heavy head and it went on until late in the afternoon. I can’t seem to figure out the reason. It’s not migraine, just a pain on my temple but I have problem trying to relax. This goes on for a couple of days and during the evening, I feel tightening on my nape. We eat healthy foods and if we had meat, we always add vegetables as extender and I do cut down on salt. So how come I feel my blood pressure is shooting up again. :-( Oh well, I just hope it’s because of the weather which could be too striking hot during the noontime and would end up raining late in the afternoon. Ella’s night out

Last night might be the most unforgettable moment for Ella. She hasn’t spend the night out for fun. She spent the night out of the kitchen door wailing and screaming.

While I prepare dinner, I let Donald do coding for OHJ while Ella was playing in the living room. Then a cologne advertisment was flashed on tv and she asked me to get her cologne. I said no because Mommy don’t like the smell. I’ve been very sensitive with fragrances when I got pregnant and I don’t want to spend the rest of the night throwing up again. Although hers was a baby cologne, I still don’t want to take risk. Read the rest of this entry »

Ella’s School ID’s

Early this morning, the celfone rang. I asked Donald if it was SOS message from OHJ staff, he nodded and went back to sleep. Whenever we receive SOS message, I could not disregard it so even half asleep I jumped out of bed and started the pc. Who could resist an SOS message when we are barely able to work 4 hours a day for a week now? When I got online and was invited in the voice conference, the queue is only 16 and I just told myself maybe it went down that fast. So I stayed there and in no time I was asked to log in. When Donald was finally in his own self…totally awake, he asked me why I am so early to work. I told him because we received an SOS message which he read, and his eyes went rolling like this  The celfone rang because of the alarm clock!!!!! Oh bummer!!!! At least I have worked for almost 3 hours already and I only need to work more than an hour more tonight. ;-) Read the rest of this entry »

Ice cream please!

It should be my favorite day and we ought to be in the market this morning but our earnings from OHJ will be sent on the 15th so we decided to skip the Market Day. Even last Wednesday that is supposed to be our grocery day was spent idly at home. No ukay-ukay for now. We have to tighten our belts because our coming earnings on the 15th will just be enough for electric bill, food and Ella’s tuition fee. Hopefully we can work 8 hours a day like before so we can have some extras to indulge ourselves for some ice cream. I honestly could live without it before. I’d rather choose spaghetti over ice cream but now I crave for it. My taste is so blunt that I am craving for sour, salty and sweet foods and I wanted ice cream so so so so bad! I want Magnolia ice cream. Just the plain one, no nuts! Read the rest of this entry »

Tambay

For days now we could not work in OHJ on our regular 8 hours shift. The queue has been very minimal and IT people said it could go on for days so OHJ personnel, shift leaders and coders did some adjustments. The coders can work for 4 hours maximum each day to give everyone a chance. The other coders who does not have a shift at that given time who wanted to work needs to be on the chat conference when they are waiting for their turn. The shift leader, when there is a need to add a coder, will call the first coder on the list of TAMBAY (waiting mode). When you leave the conference for any reason (even power interruption) for a maximum of 10 minutes, you will go back to the bottom of the list of TAMBAY. Some complained but we could not do anything about it. Read the rest of this entry »

The chamber pot man

Ella woke up so early today and never fussed with the cold water when she was called for a bath. We even had an hour to snuggle while back in bed while waiting for her to go to school. I also did coding early and was glad I had finished 8 hours of work just in time for Donald and Ella to leave to get “their” TV. Oh well, I must say it is theirs as I am not really into getting a TV yet. But they are both insistent. You could have seen how they try to convince me. It was so irritating!!!! I then said they can get a TV but they cannot bring me to that store. So….after I logged out from OHJ, off they went while I just laid in bed. That is about 4:30 pm.

At almost an hour, a truck came and surely they did bring a big box! GRRRRRR!!!! Well, I could not argue with them now because they both promised to be good. ;-)

I just watched Donald moved out the big table that used to be our dining table. Tadiday helped him out with the clearing of the living room to give room for the TV rack. Just in time for Donald to assemble the rack, we discovered we are out of LPG. Donald went out to get a refill so HE can cook dinner. Yes he did cook dinner and I am crossing my finger that he will do the laundry tomorrow without me. That is what letting hubby get what they wanted, they are the biggest volunteers. They do things without orders. Oh how I wish they are just like that E.V.E.R.Y.D.A.Y. But that is not we have agreed for. You wouldn’t believe what he really did bargain for just to get a TV? He agreed that he’d take care of the chamber pot everyday without complain. Yes we did use chamber pot because the bathroom is behind the chapel and we have to walk 50 yards to get there in the middle of the night.

Home alone

Whew! At last I was able to blog today. Since my schedule in OHJ has been changed, I had a hard time getting myself to get on here just before I start my shift. Last time my schedule was only Saturday and Sunday (12midnight to 8 am) and I still do coding during weekdays but it is always on graveyard shift. So this gives me enough time to do my post and do some blog hopping. But now my schedule is 5pm to 1am Monday to Sunday and I still have not made myself adjust to blog earlier. I do not know why I just loved blogging in the evening…when the day is about to end and I could write what has transpired during the day. I hate blogging this early (before 5pm) because I am pretty sure there are still many things to happen later tonight.

But anyway, this is my problem not yours LOL I am glad that MsE has moved my schedule to earlier hours so I could get enough sleep during the night which I really really really need.

This morning Ella had her second examination in Mathematics and Science and tomorrow will be Language and English. Donald walked her to school earlier than usual and Ella was given test papers. Donald left her there as usual and went back home. My fellow coders sent an SOS message right after they left so I logged in and found out that the queue is more than 500!!! (we should maintain a queue of 30 or less) so I was here coding the rest of Ella’s class. When it was almost 10am, Donald left to fetch her but Ella emerged from the door beaming right after Donald left. She walked home alone again and took the main road. So Donald was there looking for her around the school and the neighborhood for a good amount of time until he decided to check if Ella was already home. And she was here smiling when Donald appeared on the door. I told Ella NOT to pass on the main road and that she should go in the road they usually take. That she might get hit by a vehicle and that Daddy and her would meet on the road in case she will be released from their class earlier. Oh well, how could I make her wait for her Daddy to fetch her at school? I told her that twice. To wait for Donald or me to get her but she just could not stand the waiting. She is such a very impatient girl. I do not know she took the main road when she always love seeing the goats by the road they always take. She said to me the other day that the goats can understand English very well because when she said “EXCUSE ME….” while passing by, the goats in the middle of the road made way for her. LOL

But then I thought she is already 5 and yet we are babying her while the other kids her age goes to school and home all by themselves. Maybe we need to accept that our baby is a big girl now and soon to be a big sister. So we practiced leaving her at home with her Ate Tadiday while me and Donald went grocery shopping this afternoon. At first it was very hard to convince her not to go with us. She used to go along when me and Donald leaves the house. Maybe she feels alone when we both go out but she can let me leave her to Donald’s care without a fuss. Only when both Mommy and Daddy walks out the door (which just happened today since we moved here) that she was like being abandoned and home alone. LOL

On the other note, I remember seeing a shop in the mall in the city which sells shirts with pictures in it done with airbrush. I was trying to figure out how they do it and hope to try it myself.

I got my pay!

My second earning from OHJ was sent this morning to my eon account. Yey! I was supposed to sub for Crislyn but there are some changes now. Those who have shifts have none and all are on calls. So I still worked since they needed a back up from 9:38am to 6pm. I have a shift tonight on graveyard but we’ll see if I can get in.

I have sewed a dress for Ella. I will post the photos later when I finish 6 dresses.

As I was reading some blogs, I came through a blog that talks about a car accident wherein a family of 11 was riding their SUV and a truck came crashing in their side. Glad that there is no one severly injured. But if it was here in the Philippines with most peole not wearing seatbelts, they could have been all dead with the strong impact. With this incidents, I was thinking more and more in looking for cheap life insurance quotes that we can afford. It will really help a lot.

First project

Thank goodness I was out from OHJ seven minutes before 8am. Donald woke up Ella, bathe, dressed, fed and walk her to school. Ella wore her P.E. uniform and I was suprised how she has grown tall in just a month! When we bought it, I made sure it has some allowance so she can wear it longer….but man, this girl sure does in growth spurt! She has literally outgrown ALL her clothes in a span of 5 months! She grows taller than our income  OHJ is such a blessing and thanks to my sister Crislyn that she encouraged me to apply as coder. Now we we have something to look forward to each couple of weeks aside from my blogging.

The butterfly is still inside the house and it went inside our bedroom. I was sewing the rest of Ella’s pyjammas when I noticed it was on my back…resting in the curtain. Donald had the uniforms of Ella and I was wrong when I said on my previous post that I am a bit disaapointed because when I examined it closely, I am very devastated. I spent the whole morning until dinner time repairing it. The neckties are such a mess, the embroidered intials of the school was like that of an amateurs work when in facts she has been sewing for over a couple of decades now; the necktie itself is too long; the edges of the uniform has not passed through a serger machine (only zigzaged and really looks like hell); the button holes are not shaped as a button hole but a human eye; the green skirt has a yellow thread in the inside and the skirt is 1½ shorter. I was grumbling why on earth the seamstress has measured Ella when she did not follow the exact measurement especially the length! I unstitched the embroidery in the necktie and the skirt. I sew the skirt and the necktie the length that I wanted. Which is supposed to be and I must say, the right length. What took so much of my time is the initials in the necktie, as it was my first time to do it, I redid it 20+times until I finally got the result I wanted.

Today Ella’s study table was finally delivered from the furniture shop beside us. It took 20 days before it was done but it is worth the waiting because it is finely made. I will post a photo tomorrow.
As some of you know, Ella’s plastic table flipped from the truck when we moved from the city and since then she was writing and drawing and even reading on the floor. This was our first project from my coding job.

Last night Ella watched tv in the neighbor’s house. I do not know why she remembered it. We do not have tv since moved here and she seldom asked us to go over there and watch. She has been so afraid of being locked out at night time especially when we do not want her to go over and watch tv in the neighbor’s house. Thisf amily has no little kid so Ella has been the center of attention. When I saw the butterly came out from the back of the plastic cabinet, I closed the front door so it won’t get out and I can take snaps. Little did I know Ella saw it and came rushing home thinking she has been locked out. She was so thrilled seeing the butterfly too and after a while she went back there. I think it was past 9 in the evening when she called from the neighbor’s porch telling us to lock her out. I asked, “Are you sure????” She wuickly replied, “Yes, I have the key here.” If you thought she was just kidding, you are wrong. We locked the door and she came home and used the key she has with her.

The house has benn packed with kids and a mother. I would really get old earlier when we will live here for good. I get stressed too with the neighbors problems on money, school allowances, debts and even food. Just before lunch, three sibling came over to play with Ella. I know their mother was working in the ricefield and they were left alone by themselves. I asked what they have for lunch, the 8 year-old girl said rice with vinegar and salt :-( The other kids are 3 and 1. We sent her to the store to buy a can of sardines for them to share. Ella now eats whatever on the table knowing that her friends has no food on the table and goes to bed hungry at times.

5 long months

We had power interruption last night an hour before midnight. I sent a message to my co-coder about it and I had no choice but to sleep. At 2ish I was awaken by a text message from Inah asking me to get online if we had the power back. We did had the power back so I sat infront of my pc, just before I signed in she called. They surely needed back up. Finally I was off from work when Crislyn logged in for her shift at 10 in the morning.

We had a cold weather, drizzling the whole day. I hate this when I am trying to stay awake for the night shift but I am off from work so I have all the time to snuggle under the covers. That is what i was imagining, but hey we had to go to the market. Today is market day here but since God washed the world today, I don’t want to get around the market that much. With all the muddy pavement and everything is wet….we decided to do some grocery shopping instead at the “biggest” grocery store here. :-)

While I and Donald are waiting for the cashier to ring all the items, Ella asked me if she could buy “projects”. I told her she has still crayons and papers at home, I didn’t know she went to the school supplies and toy section and put in her basket a toy telephone, a pack of oslo paper, one pen and a notebook. I told her she cannot buy all those and she should return others and just pick one. She went back and put everything in its place and goes to the toy alley. I remembered she didn’t got a tea set on her birthday so I told her she can have it instead of the telephone. She was so thrilled to get tea and cooking set as she was asking for it since the world began ;)) She actually has some pieces left from the tea sets we bought before but she was having trouble looking at them in different sizes and colors. The kettle is smaller than the cups, the plastic piece of chicken is bigger than the plates and the stove is a lot smaller than the pots and pans. It was all mixed up from different sets she has since she was 2.

When we went to the city for my check up, she stayed with her Tita Crislyn in their house on the second day of my check up. While Crislyn was busily coding, Ella asked her to get the pot, pan, plates and other dishes. Ella said she will play cooking thing and that she will use the real stuffs because she forgot to buy her the tea and cooking set she had promised. Since Crislyn worked, she has no time to go shopping. She just laughed upon hearing what the little girl has said. Same here, I like to buy her those toys but I was thinking about getting them when we ge to the city. When we finally went to the city, we totally forgot about it! So I can say she had waited patiently for 5 long months and she deserves it. I let her pay it in the counter and she was over the moon when the lady puts it in the bag, like she was holding her breath while she was waiting. Afraid that I might change my mind. :grins: Gotta go, have to check on Outer Banks.
