I crawled in bed at almost 3am and woke up before 7am to help Donald prepare Ella for school. I woke her up and she moaned wanting some more sleep. In minutes she was on the table infront of a bowl of cereal and milk. We usually bathe her on the sink during school days ‘cos the bathroom inside the house is not yet finished which was turned into a storage room. We are using the bathroom at the back of the chapel which is more or less 100 yards away. Not convenient for us but we have no choice. After bathed and dressed (I let her wear jeans and polo shirt ‘cos her insect bites are becoming more worst each day), I kissed her goodbye and off they went to school. The three of them, Donald, Ella and Bogart. I went back to bed after they left, it was cold morning and I snuggled under my fleece blanket. When Donald went back from school, he sat infront of my pc and minutes later he said he will check the atm machine in them market and pick up Ella at school on his way home. He tried to withdraw money from my eon card but yesterday it says, “Please transact in your own bank.” I was upset a bit but forgotten about it as soon as I accepted I really need to go to Davao just to get money from my account and also to get a check up. Gladly today he was able to withdraw money from it enough money for our week’s food. It was just a site problem yesterday. I am grateful I can access my eon card from here.
When they arrived home, Ella came to me in bed and said, “Mommy, I got a ring” and handed me a gold fancy ring. I asked her where it came from and she answered, “From the boy in school…he dropped it on my paper while I was writing and told me it is for me.” One of her admirers whom she spoke about last week. It was a ring that could fit a 5-year-old’s finger! It was unbelievably funny to hear but I was alarmed that my daugther will start dating soon!
Oh well I leave it to Donald’s hands. He already talked to her about it and reminding her to study well in school, no boyfriends yet.
When I asked Ella what did she say when he gave her the ring, she answered “I just said, thank you….” I know it is quite different now but hey, we are in a small town in the province…I couldn’t imagine how the kids in the city behave. Maybe they are bringing chocolates and flowers for teh girls in school?
I can’t tolerate it and I said I will go to her school and talk to the boy and his mother. But the thought of it makes me look like stupid
So for now, I have to deal with this by talking to Ella not to entertain suitors ‘cos we have no couch in the living room yet.
After lunch, she and Donald had a reading time. They read a Dora book and she is learning fast about numbers in Spanish. I am not a Dora fan actually. When Ella was a baby, I never let her watch Dora cd’s ‘cos Dora was Spanish but now she is growing up, I think she can handle many languages. She can even speak straight Cebuano and translate it in Tagalog :-) When she grow up, she can be a good translator. Trust me on this
We never let her out the house in the afternoon as her red spots and insect bites worsen. She is asking me to get her to see a doctor ‘cos she don’t want to have scars on her legs. In the evening, after dinner, she was singing a song…”This is A way, I comb my hair, comb my hair, comb my hair…this is A way I comb my hair. Early in the morning.” We told her she was singing it in a wrong way, and it should be “This is THE way I comb my hair….” We let her sing it again, but over and over she sang it the wrong way and was insisting it is the right way because it is the way they sang in school. I am on my wits end when Donald let her sing it again in bed, tries to say the words slowly but messed up when she tries to sing it. We then told her she SHOULD sing it right or ELSE she’d get punished. We know she can very well sing it and learn fast, but she is just refusing to learn ‘cos as what she says, her classmates sings it that way and I cannot handle stubborn kid. I went to get a stick to give her a swat if I needed be when we heard her say, “I wish I never sang it here….”
Oh kids really can drive me nuts! But of course I should let her know or see I am laughing or she would think she is cute. I can go to the other room to gain composure and get right back with a serious looking face.

Not much of going on today. I am still not feeling well…got a headache added to the neck and back pains
Ella went about marching around the house, played alone and sneaked out from the front door to play with the kids but was called in everytime. I told her she is not allowed to play with them today. Most of her toys are broken or were stolen by the kids and that upsets me so much. Everyday I hear one squeeling about the other stealing Ella’s toy and everyday too, I am seeing broken toys! This is not good at all and I am making Ella understand that we should not let them play anymore with her toys. Last week I sorted her toys, the barbies and good ones are put in the crate and should not be carried outside for their play. I put the odd toys in one smaller crate for them to play with…hoping that everything will be taken cared of and that everything will be turned in after their play….but see, neither of this was done…so I am declaring Martial Law here. No more toys outside and they are not allowed to play either inside the house. This will not take long since I wanted the kids to play too….but I want them to learn from it

I was still enjoying my internet up to this moment! No more long walks to the market to check mails on the internet cafe. It was just a relief from the stiff neck and the foul smell of the cafe. Some ar smoking inside and the others are just so selfish turning high the volume while they play….I suppose it should be airconditioned and that each has to have a headset. My neck hurts too. On the first cafe I went I was looking up for the monitor while the other cafe, I was stooping down. Then there’s this keypad that is soooo hard to press…as if it wasn’t been used for decades. The worst thing is it has no letter F! But anyway, I am still grateful that there’s internet cafe here in town.
Today, we woke up early. I checked mails first then went around the little rooms to organize stuffs while Donald went outside uprooting weeds again and Ella played with her new friends. I don’t know why I only accomplished to sort two crates of odd toys of Ella. These were from our old little house so she’s very much happy to see those again after two months of staying with my sister Crislyn’s parents-in-law. I put the toys that cold be played with other kids while the toys which were given to Ella as a gift or that of value has to be saved. So I let the kids play with the other toys. I am not being selfish, but last Saturday Ella cried because her bike’s seat was broken. The boy much taller and bigger than her kept on riding it, the next thing I heard was it broke. So I was just being careful of Ella’s toys since we can’t afford to buy for now.
So the kids went playing on the shed beside the house where we gather on Sunday School. Donald was on the side near them while I was in the front yard planting ornamental plants we have brought from Davao. As expected, a little boy broke a toy and Ella was just calmly saying to Donald that her toy was broken. When I went near to see if I can do something about it, she ran to the house crying. She was saying “My toy is dead! My toy is dead!!!” Instead of symphatizing with her, I broke into laughter. Her toy was really dead….Poor girl. I told her that it was just a toy and that’s why Mommy kept her special toys inside the house.
Oh by the way, the best thing living in the province is your neighbor knocks at your door with a bowl of “binignit” (it’s like a porridge with sticky rice, banana, sweet potatoes, sago - looks like tapioca, coconut milk and sugar). This is the place I like!

I am done with the full load of laundry J ALONE. I did not bother Donald to help since he and Ella were still off to dreamland. My sis and I were in front of our pc when he came out of the room, so he prepared a lunch fore everyone all by himself. That’s the good thing in there; I just let him get all the sleep he wanted until his head aches, then he will willingly help out with the chores.
My sister’s in laws just arrived today from Dumaguete and Cebu. For all that has not with me when I started blogging last month, we were staying at my sister’s in-laws parents (who happened to be our godparents on our wedding) while we are waiting for the move to Agusan. Seemed we are waiting forever! L Glad that I have this blogging thing to get busy with which keeps my insanity. I hope soon we will get news about the truck to get us and our full load of boxes and so on. I am planning to start a VBS with the kids when we get there and it was already April! Anyway, Ella got some chocolates and lollipops from my sister’s in-laws and you can not imagine her gobbling one after another. That’ll keep her up until after midnight with lots of energy to burn. When she talks about my blog, she will always say “Caroleen’s PRESSURES” (instead of Caroleen’s Treasures ) and that made me have a good belly laugh. Maybe that will be a better blog title, don’t you think? Little girls are just so cute. They sometimes say more than they ought to and that made me crazy all the time! J Just tonight, I told her I got a headache because I hit head on to the door jam while going out the house to hang the clothes. I was expecting for a more sympathetic reply (she always does that) but she just kissed my forehead and said: OKAY LANG ‘YAN MOMMY, MALAYO ‘YAN SA BITUKA… (That’s alright mommy, it’s far from your intestine). What a very comforting thing to hear from a daughter J She cannot be blamed, her daddy and me sometimes make jokes with her about the intestine thing. At 4, she had learned so much from her parents. LOL

I was working with my blog for a couple of weeks now. Although I like my previous theme, I finally decided to have it changed. I had problems with the background and the widgets. I changed the widget codes just to make everything fit but still it doesn’t look good. Blame it all on the blinkies!
I have collected a thousand blinkies on my album. My body clock has been changed. Since last week, I was up the whole night. Got to sleep at 7:00 a.m. and be back infront of the computer after just a 5 hour sleep. I suppose my body feels like being there on the other side of the earth. I just hope after our short vacation from Kabacan ( my cousin’s funeral will be on tuesday) will get me back to my old routine. I hope too I could sneak to do my blog updating there.
Oh by the way, we had unexpected visitors last friday afternoon. While doing my usual browsing, I heard Donald greet them and I thought Donald is just fooling us around. ( He’s good with that
I did not even hear somebody knock at the door. Well, how would they be knocking door with just two feet and have no hands?

Ella was very happy to see those chicken. She is soooo fond of animals and she has not played with kids for a number of days. She could only play with humans everytime we bring her to Wonderland. She plays with the dogs and a cat and this little fellas excited her so much. At least for a change. She was so happy and was jumping and yelling ” Sige, lutuin natin!!! I-fried chicken natin!!!” (Come on, let’s cook fried chicken!!!) I could not just imagine how tiny that fried chicken must be. They have just barely grew their feathers and trying to see the beauty of the world, maybe ran away from home dreading what being a certified chicken may bring them. They might end up the mother of threir brood or end up as the star of “tinolang manok” (chicken soup). Ella was convinced to let them go and they are just so lucky to get out of here alive.
I was smiling all along of the thought of my rudeness with chicks back then. I can’t remember exactly how old I was, all I can remember is there were a dozen neighbor’s chicks marching around our yard with their mama hen. I was playing alone when suddenly the light bulb over my head sounded “ting!”. I grabbed all of them and put inside a small box. They were sooo cute in their yellow “feathered uniform”. I did not know why the devil made me peel off their feathers on their tiny-skinny legs and a little while they all had bare-pinkish legs! I tied their legs one by one on a calamansi tree. I was very fascinated to see them on the branches like christmas lights ( Just imagine their chirps that made it really look like musical christmas lights ) It was really gross! I didn’t get near chicks anymore since then (or they didn’t dare come across my way ). I was just so happy Ella has no dark thoughts as I had.
As I was about to publish this post, I looked for the “tag” space at the bottom and found out I have written on the “write page”. I was making this fast because of this backpain. At least copying and pasting won’t consume so much of my time. Thanks for the chicks, the thought of them made me smile still.
