Meeting new friends

I am not feeling well today. I guess it’s the over-exertion from holding Eman. He is becoming more and more active and when he’s on my lap, he tries to reach for things that he finds interesting. He also have this attitude of making his head fall back when he can’t get what he wanted. Well I am the mother and he can’t get his way. I am giving him a swat on the leg and tell him it’s not good each time he does that. He’s 9 months and he’s not too young for discipline. So there you go, nip it in the bud.

So the whole morning I was feeling sick. Donald gave me a massage and he said what I needed is a joy ride. I don’t want to be called a wet blanket so I agreed. We went to Mintal taking the back road as usual. The afternoon breeze was cold and I somehow felt better. We wanted to eat so we looked around for a resto that serves Pansit Guisado and the like and so we did some kind of a little tour because we are not yet familiar with the place. While we are looking around I told Donald about the fellow blogger, Chikai, who grew up in that place. Last night I scoured her blog for the post she did many months ago when her grandma died. It has photos of their house. I was lucky to have found it last night so I told Donald about it and he was interested in finding it too. I knew the name of the street but we didn’t get around to asking people where it can be found because on our next turn I saw a house that I thought their house (I mean her parent’s house - since she is married and is based in the US now). But the house is not like what I saw in the pictures…..theirs is green and beside it is their grandma’s house. We are slowly moving and as we got near the curb, I saw a very familiar house. Two monkeys

Still am tired from our trip to our hometown to visit my mother’s (and loved one’s) grave sites for the All Soul’s Day. It was unplanned trip because I already have told everyone we are not coming but last Saturday, I was dropping some hints that I wanted to go. Donald was very sensitive when it comes to going home so I never have to tell to him directly. He even wanted to leave the same day but I have to dome some sewing first and we have to fix some things here in the house before leaving for a short vacation. I thought I left the camera because I can’t find it in my bag. Donald didn’t show any disappointment though but I know he was and I was! we waited for three nearly two hours before all the seats were filled and out of boredom I tried digging in my bag and found it under my clothes. Wohooo!!!! We could have missed taking these shots Read the rest of this entry »

Goodbye Papang

Photobucket

My most loved uncle went home to the Lord at 7:30am today. After a long battle with diabetes and some complications, he finally rested with his family beside him. This photo was taken last March 22 at Mergrande Resort in Davao during his son-in-law and granddaughter’s graduation. That was me in the leftmost, Papang Alfred, his wife-Mamang Ising and Cheche. I was having some issues with my heart since yesterday so I just took it lightly. I did cry but not too much because I know it is better that his suffering has ended. Hopefully tomorrow or Monday we can come to Davao to get checked then we will proceed to Kabacan for the funeral. Byebye Papang…..we will surely miss you!

The Lee’s

At last we had a somewhat decent family picture.

Photobucket

Thanks to my cousin’s daughter, Dimple, for taking this photo. This was taken at their place where we stayed for a couple of nights before going home.

The day I wore purple nail polish

So I finally made it to the clinic this morning with purple toenails. That was an achievement to me (not on the purple nail polish) because even I already set my mind on getting up early, I still find it sooooo hard to do it. I did my nails last night and since Ella has been putting me into account each time she sees me painting my nails as to why I am still not wearing the purple nail polish she gave to me on my birthday, I decided it was time to show her that I am true to my words that I really love the darn color she picked. I should have cared less if it was a darker plum but it wasn’t and it looks as though they were candies on my feet. But anyway, I gave it a go and I am loving it now and the most important of all is that Ella was so happy about it. :-) Read the rest of this entry »

On furnitures

Donald is more anxious to move than I. I would hear him say over and over again that we should be in Kabacan the soonest time possible….and that is next week  I want Ella to finish Kinder 2 here but with the weather and some “important” reasons why their classes are always cancelled (not to mention their standard) I think I would agree to Donald that Ella will go back to Kinder 2 in June since she will just turn 6 then. I need more time to pack also and sort our things between the stuffs that we should bring and the stuffs to give away. I hope we could order a hardwood furniture at our neighbor’s but I think it’s better to get it from discount furniture stores in Davao. It would really hurt our pocket to spend too much for such and you know me, I love stuffs that are on sale.

Killing the time

After a sumptuous dinner with BIL’s family (his whole family i.e. Dad, Ma, brother and sisters and their families) last December 27, we spent an hour (I guess) outside Victoria Plaza for some photo op at the huge tree. After some snaps, we broke in different groups (three I guess) just chatting. Here’s what Donald, Ella, Cheche and I can do to kill the time. Read the rest of this entry »

On moving (again????)

I was looking forward for today to be such a busy day for me. I already sorted all the baby clothes and stuffs that needs to be washed and folded to be ready in case the baby will decide for an early appearance. I wasn’t expecting nor hoping for a premature delivery, but I just want to be ready. Like my sister and BIL who are moving this weekend, Donald and I are also playing some wild idea on moving back to my hometown when Ella’s classes ends. That will be this March and we are crossing our fingers that we can make it as early as possible before I gave birth which will be on the 1st week of April.  That’s just a plan, not yet final and so we are not disclosing this to Tatang and Inang or any other members of the church yet. Great Holiday Sale: Buy 1 take 5 on all blocks.

I do believe in miracles and this morning, I witnessed one. Baby Taz was pretty behaved in our Sunday School class and it was indeed a miracle. :-) Unlike the past Sundays when all she does is getting so physical with her cousin, lie down on the floor as if she’s in their house, getting her hands into all the stuffs at Ella’s study table and walking back and forth disturbing not just me but the entire class…..today she stayed there at her chair, eyes pinned on me and repeats every word I utter (that I asked her to stop)while I tell them another story about Jesus. She and her cousin hasn’t exchanged kicks and pinches and it was such a miracle. :-) I now see her as a doll or an angel, not a Baby Taz. Read the rest of this entry »

Where do we go from here?

I love thinking about our upcoming reunion at my Mother’s side in my hometown. Got to see half of the clan and spend days just eating, chatting, singing and maybe we could go swimming at the nearest resort. But there’s a big BUT because Hannah, a cousin on my father’s side, did ask me if we could attend the reunion on the 30th in Pagadian City. :-( Donald and I are pretty disappointed that it’s too far but the bigger issue here is money.
