Ice Cream!

God must have heard my silent prayer. My sister and BIL invited us to have some ice cream. Wohoo! We are heading there. Cheche and Ella are already there but Eman is still taking his nap so we will just follow in a few minutes. I hope BIL got Double Dutch by Selecta. :D It’s heavenly delicious!!!! I don’t care if my throat is still a little sore. I really have to have ice cream now or I’ll die. LOL I am lucky I am not pregnant so I won’t worry about eating much. Even when I was pregnant I eat more than what my OB has advised. I even do not take my huge pre-natal vitamins even when it has a good prenatal vitamin review because I always puke with it’s size. Feel like I am swallowing a spoon and fork. Not to mention the smell. Ick! That is why I don’t believe my OB when she said not to eat much because the baby needs nutrients and I am not taking vitamins. Oh that time I am crazy over fruits especially apples so there is nothing to worry about.

I heart Double Dutch

I am not an ice cream person but I am craving for Double Dutch by Selecta. Don’t know if it is just because of the scorching heat or I am now an ice cream lover. I could live life without it before and if I buy, it’s not because I want it but because they want it. It’s a different story now and I am starting to worry because it is an expensive addiction (well for me it is). I even ask Donald to drive to Mintal for it because what they don’t have it at the convenience store near here. Yesterday we had it again when Crislyn and BIL moved some of their stuffs to their new rented place. Yes they are moving near here and it’s kinda thrilling us all. We can visit each other often. :D Well, about the ice cream….it is really heavenly good and I want more! I got some tasks due today….should be checking on life insurance quotes and other stuff in between sewing and I badly need my Double Dutch to keep me going. LOL

I am not going home yet

Our day started early (or should I say it ended late yesterday?) because we are still wide awake at 3am. Donald couldn’t sleep so we chatted for a while and he decided to watch a James Bond movie in the laptop which he found so boring. I, on the other hand, tries to catch sleep by tossing and turning. Everything doesn’t seem to work so I just waited for my eyes to just close by itself which happened at nearly 5am. It was drizzling and gloomy the entire day. I wanted to go out and buy the fabric that I needed to sew a couple of receiving blankets but like thhe previous days, I don’t feel like going out. I plan to do it tomorrow morning but just tonight, we got a message that we will be leaving for Trento tomorrow at 4am. :-( Just when I already had in mind that we are still spending our 6th wedding anniversary on Sunday here in Davao. Ice cream please!

It should be my favorite day and we ought to be in the market this morning but our earnings from OHJ will be sent on the 15th so we decided to skip the Market Day. Even last Wednesday that is supposed to be our grocery day was spent idly at home. No ukay-ukay for now. We have to tighten our belts because our coming earnings on the 15th will just be enough for electric bill, food and Ella’s tuition fee. Hopefully we can work 8 hours a day like before so we can have some extras to indulge ourselves for some ice cream. I honestly could live without it before. I’d rather choose spaghetti over ice cream but now I crave for it. My taste is so blunt that I am craving for sour, salty and sweet foods and I wanted ice cream so so so so bad! I want Magnolia ice cream. Just the plain one, no nuts! Read the rest of this entry »

Ice cream

The service started earlier than usual today at 7:30am because the Medical Mission was continued after the worship. I had no choice but to take a bath in the neighbor’s well because we are using the chapel’s bathroom and I don’t want to pass by there and get seen by the early birds. I tried sewing the hem line of the communion table’s cloth but messed up with the serging because I accidentally cut it in the wrong measurement. :-(

Dr. Samuel Cariaga delivered the sermon and right after the worship service, the medical services began. It went until 7pm and I was the last patient to get checked. My BP is 150/100 and was given medicine for hypertension and asthma. The team are very quick to set up and are quick to restore too. They had dinner then off they travelled back home 3 hours away from here. Dr. Sam was behind the wheels and surely he is dead tired.

This afternoon, Ella was on her own playing and finding something to eat. Donald caught her buying peddled ice cream which we call here “flavor of the road”. She has this Barbie sling wallet that comes with her backpack where she put the loose coins that she had saved for weeks now. Since she isn’t used to holding money, she hasn’t bought anything from it. Just today. When she saw this ice cream cart infront of the chapel while the check up was going on and I was busy giving out drugs and Donald has his own work too taking pictures.

She was counting her money…I don’t know how she counted it right :-)

then waited…..

and waited for the ice cream man to scoop her some home-made ice cream

She finally held the cup and

got to taste the heavenly flavor. But her looks cannot justify it.

Tried once more and over the moon because she rarely gets the chance to have this kind of ice cream.
