Let’s talk business

We had a very gloomy weather today with a lot of rain. I was wondering where the rain water did come from when it was raining the entire week. There’s not much of sunshine to drain the water and turn it to rain again. Well, that’s what we learn from our Science subject in 4th grade right? Read the rest of this entry »

Fun at the beach

I am glad Donald got my sister Crislyn to do photo sharing of our Davao escapades this morning so I could blog about it now. ;-) It will be photo studded and a quite long post but I will try to make it as short as possible so I won’t bore you guys. I will try…but I cannot promise. Read the rest of this entry »

Fun day

As I mentioned on my last post, I will be making some more improvement on my blog and I hope I did it better with this new theme. I was hoping for a total make over :-) But I only have a few downloaded themes to choose from. I have found some nice ones but have to send it to my sister Kerslyn for her to upload it and send it back to me. Maybe in a few more days I can finalize my theme….my fourth theme. ;-)

Today we spent the day having fun. First thing in the morning, Donald checked our eon account and our earnings from OHJ has been sent so after Ella’s class we all headed to the market. Poor us….we weren’t able to see the world for two weeks now since our earnings was delayed for a couple of weeks. We had a brunch at The Resto, the only snack house which serves burgers, pasta, halo-halo and combo meals. Ella and I both had cheese burgers while Donald had a platter of rice, chicken, pansit miki, banana cake and shrimp fries (their own version of Chowking Lauriat) :-) As usual Ella only ate the bun  This is why when she asks for burger, we just buy her a plain bread because the beef patty, cheese and anything else in it will be thrown on my plate and I end up having the biggest and fattest burger there. Birthday pictures

I was dragging my feet all day as I feel so tired and lazy from Ella’s birthday party yesterday. It was just a simple party yet I feel so exhausted. But Ella wasn’t feeling that and went to play early in the morning. She went outside and found her birthday present dead. The frail looking chick that a kid gave her yesterday. Good that she has not built a strong attachment to it yet so the funeral was quick and easy. Her friend Charlie dug a hole in the yard and they buried it there. Ella put a cross in it and they said a little prayer for its innocent soul. :-) Here’s some photos of Ella’s birthday party yesterday.

As I always ask “Where did the time go?”….Oh well….she is growing up so fast and Donald was saying since the other day that we do not have a 4 year-old in the house anymore.

Summer heat is on!!!!

It’s getting hotter everyday and I almost can’t stand the summer heat :-( We wanted to go Samal or Talicud Island and spend even a day or two there. I love the white beaches and crystal clear water, grilled fish, chips and coke….. :-)

We just love the fun and excitement. But whenever the thought of beaches sinks in, I couldn’t stop from smiling to myself. It was summer 2005, we went to Samal Island with my sister Crislyn and her husband Ace. I told Donald to buy fresh fish at the wet market just a walking distance from the terminal where we will take a bus. Off he went while the rest of us hopped in the bus. I found a seat on the front just across the driver and my sister on the next. I looked around to see just a few passengers were there. So I was thinking that the bus will leave in 10 minutes or so to wait for the seats to be filled. There’s more time for Donald to get fish and back in the terminal. As I was trying to get settled, the driver started the engine. I asked the driver if we were leaving, he said yes. I told the driver that I will fetch Donald at the market and he agreed. What I did was leave Ella to my sister to get Donald. I walked as fast as I could getting a bit nervous. I don’t want them waiting for us. And I don’t know where to find him. The wet market is quite busy that morning. Thinking all those things, I started running. I am just halfway to the market when I looked around to see the bus just a few yards from me!!!! You must have seen me running to get Donald while I was followed by a bus  Whew! I always laugh in embarassment when I remember this. The next time we went swimming, I had everything prepared the night before. Oh I just hope we could have a dip on the beach soon again…soon….

I got tagged by Divine. Sorry for having this late. Got busy the past days.

Here are the rules: Remove one (1) question from below and add in your personal question, make it a total of 20 questions, then tag eight (8) people in your list. List them out at the end of this post.

- 20

- my family of course!

8. If you win $1 million, what would you do? I would clear all our payables, invest in a stock market, buy my husband’s dream car, buy my daughter’s dream house, share my fortune to my immediate family, see the places we wanted, shop, eat, do a charity and help those who are mean to us

Use your imagination

I can’t wait any much longer for us to move. Hope there will be good news tomorrow. We are waiting for three weeks now. Everything has been packed and I am starting to get annoyed. Yesterday I had slept 8 in the morning and Ella woke me up at 8 in the evening. So last night, I tried all my might to sleep early and I did at 2 a.m. :-) But guess what? My body refuses to cooperate when I tried dragging myself infront of the pc. I still have to do the laundry and am crossing my fingers that I can get myself on it tomorrow. We had tinolang manok for dinner and I tried to eat more than I can manage. I wanted to gain weight so badly.

The other day I got to chat with my friend Jennefer. We are partners-in-crime way back in high school doing all the silliness that you could not imagine. We parted ways in college and later on had our own families. We had no communication for several months and was very happy to hear from her. Not exactly happy about what I have heard but I was glad to see her face on cam. I was thinking about her since then and worry so much about the trial she’s undertaking in her married life right now. I could not go into detail to protect her privacy so I will leave it up for your imagination. :-)

Blame it on the blinkies and thank the chicks

I was working with my blog for a couple of weeks now. Although I like my previous theme, I finally decided to have it changed. I had problems with the background and the widgets. I changed the widget codes just to make everything fit but still it doesn’t look good. Blame it all on the blinkies! :-) I have collected a thousand blinkies on my album. My body clock has been changed. Since last week, I was up the whole night. Got to sleep at 7:00 a.m. and be back infront of the computer after just a 5 hour sleep. I suppose my body feels like being there on the other side of the earth. I just hope after our short vacation from Kabacan ( my cousin’s funeral will be on tuesday) will get me back to my old routine. I hope too I could sneak to do my blog updating there.

Oh by the way, we had unexpected visitors last friday afternoon. While doing my usual browsing, I heard Donald greet them and I thought Donald is just fooling us around. ( He’s good with that :-) I did not even hear somebody knock at the door. Well, how would they be knocking door with just two feet and have no hands?

kj.JPG

Ella was very happy to see those chicken. She is soooo fond of animals and she has not played with kids for a number of days. She could only play with humans everytime we bring her to Wonderland. She plays with the dogs and a cat and this little fellas excited her so much. At least for a change. She was so happy and was jumping and yelling ” Sige, lutuin natin!!! I-fried chicken natin!!!” (Come on, let’s cook fried chicken!!!) I could not just imagine how tiny that fried chicken must be. They have just barely grew their feathers and trying to see the beauty of the world, maybe ran away from home dreading what being a certified chicken may bring them. They might end up the mother of threir brood or end up as the star of “tinolang manok” (chicken soup). Ella was convinced to let them go and they are just so lucky to get out of here alive.

I was smiling all along of the thought of my rudeness with chicks back then. I can’t remember exactly how old I was, all I can remember is there were a dozen neighbor’s chicks marching around our yard with their mama hen. I was playing alone when suddenly the light bulb over my head sounded “ting!”. I grabbed all of them and put inside a small box. They were sooo cute in their yellow “feathered uniform”. I did not know why the devil made me peel off their feathers on their tiny-skinny legs and a little while they all had bare-pinkish legs!  I tied their legs one by one on a  calamansi tree. I was very fascinated to see them on the branches like christmas lights ( Just imagine their chirps that made it really look like musical christmas lights ) It was really gross! I didn’t get near chicks anymore since then (or they didn’t dare come across my way ). I was just so happy Ella has no dark thoughts as I had.

As I was about to publish this post, I looked for the “tag” space at the bottom and found out I have written on the “write page”. I was making this fast because of this backpain. At least copying and pasting won’t consume so much of my time. Thanks for the chicks, the thought of them made me smile still.

Purpose in Life

dsc011652.JPG

Butterfly orchid taken during our monthly visit in Trento, Agusan del Sur last March 7.

Donald and I married when we were 21. We just celebrated our 5th anniversary last February and we had tried different micro businesses over the years. We made longganisa and tocino, puto cheese, kutchinta, polvoron, pastillas and peanut butter. We also tried selling fish, vegetables and ready to wear garments. We did manage a small restaurant in my hometown in Kabacan, Cotabato. We also had a store of ukay-ukay (used garments, household items, bags and shoes) and a small fruitstand.
