Last night, it was one of the very rare occasion when I sit on the couch and watch TV. Ella came to me and asked me to pull her loose tooth. I smiled and asked if she really wanted it now because if she don’t really want it yet then I can wait until after the Holidays. After all it’s only a few weeks and Holidays is  over. I expected her to be as hesitant as me but she showed otherwise. She even blurted out, “Excited ako My!” :D And so I grabbed the camera and let her pose for the last time with her complete front teeth. hehehehe

Poor Teddy suffered a cut on the forehead. I noticed it last week but didn’t mind it until I saw Ella wrapping him in blankie and carrying him around. Does he look so  sad and hurt? Well, Ella just loves band aids and made a story just to make use of some of it lying around in the house. Can’t blame her because I have been there, done that too when I was her age. I do not know why it thrills me to have band-aids anywhere in my body. When we had a vacation at my father’s place in Pagadian City, I secretly took a piece from my aunt’s sari-sari store. I had no cut or bruise then and wished I had! Still I put it on my arm and felt so proud. LOL Read more… »

Christmas carols

Sixteen years ago, I go out with my three friends (they are siblings) during evenings to go caroling around the neighborhood. I have no problem with Daddy because they are his kumpare’s kids. Bona wrote a story last year on her friendster blog. You can check it if you like. Until now I smile each time I reminisce those wonderful memories. Now it’s Ella’s time to experience the joy of spending time with friends singing Christmas carols in exchange for some spare change.

It’s a lot different now because kids will split their group in two so they can get more change. Smart kids! LOL Read more… »

in pain

Would want to post tonight about Eman’s check-up and how our Sunday went but I am not feeling well. I had this very sharp pain in my glabella (the space between the eyebrows) when I wake up this morning. It might be due to lack of sleep and it got worst after dinner. Donald gave me a massage on the head and back but it just helped a little. I pointed a spot above my head that hurts so bad when you put a little pressure on it and he did a massage using his thumb. I am so thankful it went away. I started crying like a baby earlier that startled Ella. She was tending her farms and cafe’s on Facebook but stopped it to be my nurse. Cheche went home to my sister Crislyn’s place last Saturday so I cannot be sick.

Here’s some pictures of the big sister babysitting the little guy just tonight while I was working on the computer.

Yesterday was our monthly meal fellowship at church. We had a wonderful time chatting with Tatang Bob and Manang Barbara (a couple who has been in mission work here in the Philippines before Martial Law). They are very nice couple and I love them. I also got to see Ate Rose Shady. She’s one of the young people during our time and she was the most noisy and bubbly. Well after 4 years since I last saw her, nothing has really changed. LOL And oh there’s Mama Sophie too!!!! She’s my friend’s mom who was soooo nice to me and Donald too. She is our godmother during our wedding but she wasn’t able to come. The last time I saw her was when I went to Cotabato City to work on some papers for Mamang’s death. The NSO office is just beside their home so I dropped by and said hi, spent an hour chatting with her and her husband whom I also call Papa David.

But even if it was so good to see her again here, the reason why she’s here is not good. Her sister, Tita Day, was diagnosed of cancer. I talked to Tita Day the other Sunday and she said she felt a little lump on her right cheek that got bigger as time passes by. It’s already stage 3 but I admire her for her strength and humor. Donald was taking photos and he called her to join the group to which she quickly replied, “Sige para may remembrance kayo sa akin.” (Okay so you will have a remembrance of me).

Meet Miyaki. Ella’s dear friend.

Photobucket

If you gonna ask me what’s her breed, I am not sure how to answer but all I know is her mum is pure bred Shi Tzu and her pop is half Shi-Tzu and half Chihuahua. I did the math and I must say she’s 1/4 Chihuahua and 3/4 Shi-Tzu.

Ella has been out of school since August so as not to bore her, we let her play with her new friends and ride her bike around neighborhood. At least it is much safer here and I never worry as much as I did while we were in Trento. Last week we went to the mall and we passed by the toy section. I was looking for a toy for Eman that we can bring to the hospital during the VCUG. There was none in store that I wanted. I want the one that plays melodies to distract him during the procedure but everything they carry didn’t suit my taste. However Donald showed Ella a hand held game and she instantly fell in love with it but its way too expensive for me. Donald could have bought it if I have only agreed but I cannot waste money on such stupid game so we told her the battery is not working. I call it stupid but honestly there was a point that I was the one who wanted it for her so she can be seated for a long time. I was tired of seeing her so restless and listening to her rants about being so bored that I thought giving that game to her will keep me at peace and so is she. But see, we are still paying off debt and the price will be enough for our week’s food.

That night, my SIL and I had a chat. She asked me if Donald wanted a puppy. He was already asleep (it’s past midnight) so I answered for him. I said yes because I know Ella will be very happy and that she was begging us to get her one even before she turned three. So the following morning, I asked her what she want….a puppy or the hand held game and she chose the pup. :-) Donald and she are actually waiting for it for a long time (longer than the wait she did to have a brother). hahahahaha! And so to make the long story short, MIL brought it to my sister’s place the day before Eman’s CVUG. Such a pitiful puppy for she might be very confused for having the most number of names. When she arrived, she knew her name is Chai…..but we fiddled around and baptized her with more or less 10 names that even us got confused. For a week now, we are most comfortable calling her Miyaki so I think that’ll be it and she’d die with it.

This is another long shot, bear with me as I try to catch up. :-) See yah again! Please see for youself the great site on projector headlights. :-)

We had the lamest excuse of not going to church today and that is getting up late. :-( Ella was the most disappointed and I just realized we should bring her to church every Sunday morning because she detests the evening worship. When I told her we will go to the mall first and proceed to Matina for the evening worship, she protested violently telling me she woke up early because she wanted to go to church in the morning because evenings don’t have Children’s class. I know, I know….the bad parents award goes to us. Anyhoo, even if justifying it won’t make any sense at all….I would just like to write down here that Donald and I are both working online until late last night (he even left the laptop on while it was running some seo tools software thinking it will get done before we leave for church in the morning) not to mention it was hot like hell that made me stay up longer, then the aching head and back that I got from the scares brought to me by the little fella with his rolling over and snake crawls. Many times did we catch him near the edge of the bed even if we just put him a while ago in the side of the wall. So back on the disappointed Ella…..since it will take us an hour to get there, we faithfully sworn that we will not miss morning service anymore (so help us God).

I just didn’t realize that our 15 month stay in Trento had made a great impact to her. She’d knew it was Sunday because Donald plays acapella Christian songs while we are still in bed. She will wake up hearing the songs and she even memorized even the part of the base and alto. :-) Then she is used to me teaching them at Children’s class. We live in the parsonage right next to the chapel so she was never absent from the class (except when we had trips to the city) and that is what she is missing. I honestly thought it’s fine with her to be absent once in a while. Now I know it would be a major disaster. Read more… »

Typhoon Ondoy

Not that I cared less for the victims of typhoon Ondoy, I was meaning to make a post about it but I got sidetracked (let me borrow that word from Julie’s) :-) with some other stuffs here in the house like laundry needing to get folded, the other room that needs to be organized and the crib that I’ve been wanting to get rid of because it eats up too much of our living room space.

I woke up Saturday morning wondering why the sky is so dark. It rained the whole day and I just thought it was just another normal rainfall since December is just a couple of months away. So we went on with our normal schedule. While we were napping, rain water started coming in through the hole in the wall. It was left open after the owner of the house came to get it before we moved in. I asked Donald to cover it so insects won’t get in the house but he just covered it with three thin sheets of paper :-( . So I asked Donald to put something to prevent the water to come in. He went outside and fixed it and when he’s done he was drenched so he called Ella to play with him under the rain…their usual bonding moment.  Read more… »
