Meeting new friends

I am not feeling well today. I guess it’s the over-exertion from holding Eman. He is becoming more and more active and when he’s on my lap, he tries to reach for things that he finds interesting. He also have this attitude of making his head fall back when he can’t get what he wanted. Well I am the mother and he can’t get his way. I am giving him a swat on the leg and tell him it’s not good each time he does that. He’s 9 months and he’s not too young for discipline. So there you go, nip it in the bud.

So the whole morning I was feeling sick. Donald gave me a massage and he said what I needed is a joy ride. I don’t want to be called a wet blanket so I agreed. We went to Mintal taking the back road as usual. The afternoon breeze was cold and I somehow felt better. We wanted to eat so we looked around for a resto that serves Pansit Guisado and the like and so we did some kind of a little tour because we are not yet familiar with the place. While we are looking around I told Donald about the fellow blogger, Chikai, who grew up in that place. Last night I scoured her blog for the post she did many months ago when her grandma died. It has photos of their house. I was lucky to have found it last night so I told Donald about it and he was interested in finding it too. I knew the name of the street but we didn’t get around to asking people where it can be found because on our next turn I saw a house that I thought their house (I mean her parent’s house – since she is married and is based in the US now). But the house is not like what I saw in the pictures…..theirs is green and beside it is their grandma’s house. We are slowly moving and as we got near the curb, I saw a very familiar house. All I want for Christmas

….is my two front teeth. I love that song and now that is my Ella’s theme song.

I should have waited a little longer to post my entry last night because after I did, Ella announced her loose tooth is about to come off.

Photobucket

She showed it to me first and when I checked, it is not that loose yet. I told her to wait for another day. Duh! I always delay everything…..you know naman I get so nervous when it comes to my kids. I am a warrior kid before and did all the pulling by myself but it’s a lot different now. I can’t do it anymore. She wouldn’t take a NO or WAIT for an answer. Read more… »

Waaaah! The little guy is much fussier tonight. :-( It’s not just due to teething but it’s the 4th time he had thrush and when he has it, he also has rashes on his neck and nape. His rashes is the worst in all those episodes. It spread in the back of his ears and part of his head. But he was very cooperative earlier when Donald and Ella went to Land Transportation Office (LTO) for a student’s permit. We played and cuddled a lot, I fed him with solid and he breastfed a lot too, we both napped and we did a lot of talking too.

Oh the hair!

Photobucket

If there is a BAD HAIR DAY, here is what WORST HAIR DAY appears to be. Donald said I shouldn’t be posting his pics without permission….but let me do this and let’s see what he can do to me. LOL He was ranting about his hair. Said he feels so much weight from it. My goodness!,I do not understand how could he say that when his is just a fraction of mine. If God made him a woman, he must be one of the few who will be wearing his hair with only millimeters length. He said he wanted to get rid of it for more than a week now and I kept making excuses. Today I ran out of reasons not to do it for him and so I dug the razor in the box and crossed my fingers he would still look human after. Just in case he won’t…I took a photo of him and his lotsa hair before I started so there will something that will remind him of what he looked like before. Read more… »

Typhoon Ondoy

Not that I cared less for the victims of typhoon Ondoy, I was meaning to make a post about it but I got sidetracked (let me borrow that word from Julie’s) :-) with some other stuffs here in the house like laundry needing to get folded, the other room that needs to be organized and the crib that I’ve been wanting to get rid of because it eats up too much of our living room space.

I woke up Saturday morning wondering why the sky is so dark. It rained the whole day and I just thought it was just another normal rainfall since December is just a couple of months away. So we went on with our normal schedule. While we were napping, rain water started coming in through the hole in the wall. It was left open after the owner of the house came to get it before we moved in. I asked Donald to cover it so insects won’t get in the house but he just covered it with three thin sheets of paper :-( . So I asked Donald to put something to prevent the water to come in. He went outside and fixed it and when he’s done he was drenched so he called Ella to play with him under the rain…their usual bonding moment.  Read more… »

paranoid momma

Last week, I was able to watch an episode in the local tv about skateboarding. I remember Donald’s picture with his skateboard when he was not yet 10. Skateboarding was a hit then and many Filipinos had easily learned the techniques. There even made skateboard ramps out of scrap wood and boards and everyone was having a great time. I don’t know if I can let Eman get into that craze. As you know, I am such a paranoid mom. :-(

A reunion

Caring for Eman is getting more difficult each day. He just loved to be held and rocked while standing. I love to do that but he is just so heavy! :-( Like other days…..all I did was feed, bathe, hold, rock and do some little chat with him…then fix lunch and farm. ;-) And oh blog…yes, I am blogging a little now.

While our little man is still needing a lot of attention and care, our dear little lady here is surely growing so fast and independent. Several months ago, I noticed a great change in her. She can use the bathroom alone, bathe herself, brush her teeth, fix her hair, get her own food, make her own glass of milk, puts on her socks and shoes, get dressed and she even cleaned her book bag tonight before going to bed. How I wish I could freeze her growth like the plants in Farm Town.

Speaking of Farm Town, I took a picture of my sisters and I in my farm. :-) But I am so dumb not to know how to post it here in my blog. Tried cropping it and resizing it but it does not appear as I want it to be. I will figure it out first. Anyway, I logged it to Cheche’s account and hired her to harvest my grapes. Then my sister Crislyn came and helped out. While I was standing there, I took a photo of us. When my sister Crislyn read the message that I am taking photo she suggested that we move near the flowers in my farm house. It’s like a reunion. I can’t believe we had a picture in my farm! Tomorrow I will ask Donald to pose with me. ;-) Read more… »

This is really it

I won’t be mistaken this time.

HAPPY FATHER’S DAY TO ALL THE DADS OUT THERE especially to my daddy and to my dearest hubby!!!!!!

.

I will forever remember that once in my life I embarassed myself because of Father’s Day.

Donald said this is the most happy Father’s Day for him because he has already two kids. Here’s the proof.

Today’s been a long day for me and tomorrow will be much longer I guess. I worked on an assignment that was emailed to me with a subject URGENT and if I do not want to be fired, I should be quick in sending the output. But anyway, I did it after 5 hours and now I wanted to sleep but I need to post something for this special day.

Tomorrow, we will be going to Salvacion, a baranggay of Trento where the big project that I have mentioned before will take place. It is a mining, logging and reforestation project. Since the funder from Holland already approved the project, I think I can blog about it even just a brief overview. We will be going to Salvacion with him tomorrow so we need to be up early because even if he is not an American, he is still white and I believe all whites have the same virtue of being on time in every appointment they have. If American has what we call “American time”, probably there’s also a “Dutch time”. So see you all tomorrow!

Halo-halo Espesyal

I had a very bad leg cramps that woke me up early in the morning. I can’t move my right leg and my gastrocnemius was like being twisted very very tightly. That was the second time I had it and the pain is still there each time I move my leg. I could tolerate the cramps on my feet but not on my legs. :-( The pain is really bad and all I could do is moan. I could not get myself to wake up Donald to help me. I was able to go back to sleep after what it seems like eternity of agonizing pain. I am just so thankful my muscles relaxed and the pain went away.

When I woke up, Ella was holding a denim dress and said she will go to the chapel ahead of me. I slowly made myself get out of bed because she hasn’t showered yet. Donald just came from the bathroom and made me a cup of hot coffee (not that strong….I know it is bad for me but let me have it just for today) and then he fixed a bowl of cereals for Ella. I have 11 kids in my class today and all looking forward for the food. There is a little boy who is always accompanied by her mother (who also has a 3 month-old baby) in our class and I was able to try the cloth diapers to the baby. The newborn size could still fit her but the small size is better. Such a tiny baby. She only weighs almost 3 lbs when she was born. :-( Read more… »
