Laida

One of the reason why Ella was not very emotional with her birds passing is because of Laida. She is half Shih-Tzu half Japanese Spitz given by the girlfriend of my sister’s classmate in high school.

We had her last March 31 and she is now three months so today Donald left with Laida inside the beach bag for her vaccines of Parvo and anti-rabies. Ella have been patient in waiting for this day because we are not allowing her to play with Laida for fear that she might bite Ella. She also is excited to walk Laida around the neighborhood. I hope she will live long like my dog Ron-Ron who I had when I was 6 until the time when my friends needs acne face wash. So that was around 8 years or so.

While Eman was busy peeping like a puppy in the window, Ella has her own concerns too. Taking care of Miyaki’s gravesite.

When Miyaki died the other day, she announced it to all the kids in the neighborhood and they come in groups to visit her grave. Read more… »

Meet Miyaki. Ella’s dear friend.

If you gonna ask me what’s her breed, I am not sure how to answer but all I know is her mum is pure bred Shi Tzu and her pop is half Shi-Tzu and half Chihuahua. I did the math and I must say she’s 1/4 Chihuahua and 3/4 Shi-Tzu.

Ella has been out of school since August so as not to bore her, we let her play with her new friends and ride her bike around neighborhood. At least it is much safer here and I never worry as much as I did while we were in Trento. Last week we went to the mall and we passed by the toy section. I was looking for a toy for Eman that we can bring to the hospital during the VCUG. There was none in store that I wanted. I want the one that plays melodies to distract him during the procedure but everything they carry didn’t suit my taste. However Donald showed Ella a hand held game and she instantly fell in love with it but its way too expensive for me. Donald could have bought it if I have only agreed but I cannot waste money on such stupid game so we told her the battery is not working. I call it stupid but honestly there was a point that I was the one who wanted it for her so she can be seated for a long time. I was tired of seeing her so restless and listening to her rants about being so bored that I thought giving that game to her will keep me at peace and so is she. But see, we are still paying off debt and the price will be enough for our week’s food.

That night, my SIL and I had a chat. She asked me if Donald wanted a puppy. He was already asleep (it’s past midnight) so I answered for him. I said yes because I know Ella will be very happy and that she was begging us to get her one even before she turned three. So the following morning, I asked her what she want….a puppy or the hand held game and she chose the pup. :-) Donald and she are actually waiting for it for a long time (longer than the wait she did to have a brother). hahahahaha! And so to make the long story short, MIL brought it to my sister’s place the day before Eman’s CVUG. Such a pitiful puppy for she might be very confused for having the most number of names. When she arrived, she knew her name is Chai…..but we fiddled around and baptized her with more or less 10 names that even us got confused. For a week now, we are most comfortable calling her Miyaki so I think that’ll be it and she’d die with it.

This is another long shot, bear with me as I try to catch up. :-) See yah again! Please see for youself the great site on projector headlights. :-)

Last night I said I am not going home yet, that I am not dragging my feet back home and that I really mean it. Forget it. After debating with myself, I gave in and packed our stuffs. Although I really wanted to stay for the weekend, I decided it is best to go home since I am not in the mood to commute. We were ready at 4am, waiting for a text message from Ate Gina. Donald changed Ella’s clothes while she’s sleeping while I do the final packing of stuffs. I already put everything in one corner and waited. After a few moments, Donald went to get a taxi and Cheche (still half-awake) ushered us out of the gate. We didn’t bother waking my sister Crislyn and BIL because like us, they were still up until past midnight because the neighbors at the side are so loud. They were drinking and talking about nonsense stuffs loudly that I wanted to throw a stone over their roof. After their “noise barrage” and before we could finally go to sleep, a neighbor at the back thought that the best time to chop woods is at 2am and so that is what he did. :-( Such crazy neighbors! Letter from Mamang Eling

Today is a little bit slow…Ella went playing again. She woke up smiling and in real good mood. Well we are used to it as she has no bad mornings since the world began  I was in the house almost whole day.

We went out in the afternoon to get a mail in the post. We are about to leave the house when Ella noticed my orchids. The leaves are green when I bought it and now are all so yellow. They must be dying. “Mommy you said there is an orange, a pink, a red and a yellow…but see all of them are now yellow!” Oh my! Of all things she should have noticed it was the wilting orchids I bought last Saturday. Surely the vendor says it has this color and that…and Ella heard all of the conversation at the market when I bought it…and I was just so amazed at how she remembers the colors and complains about having just a yellow color. I explained “The colors are for the flowers…not for the leaves.”

Whe we are on our way, we passed by a little pond and Ella asked if she can swim there  As we arrived into the curb, we saw the mailman whom we suppose was looking for the recipient of a mail and asked if we knew a LEE here…and we said “Oh yes, we are Lee’s” and the mailman was surprised and we all laughed. He handed us a little package for Ella and my Smart Bro bill. We are lucky that there’s a cab waiting for us so we packed ourselves in there to the market. While we are a few yards away, we looked back to see Bogart (Ella’s dog) was still on the road looking at us. I was worried that he will follow us there and kept telling Donald that we need to stop and send Bogart home first. But Ella then assured me, “Mommy, he won’t go to the market with us. He is just making sure we are going in the right direction” I asked why and she answered, “Because he is not allowed there.” I said, “Oh really? How did he know?” Ella answered “Because he read it there in the market when he first went there…Dogs are not allowed here in the market.”

At home before the dark sets in, Ella was writing a letter which I am not sure for whom. While I was here on my pc, she came in the room and pretended reading the letter….It was a letter from Mamang Eling (my mom) written for her….here’s what I overheard:

Dear Neng,

How are you? I hope you are happy on your birthday. I went to a mountain and wanted to buy you a lollipop for your birthday but I have no money to pay for it. I missed you so much. Can I borrow you from your mommy? So we can talk here in the mountain and you and Papang Lakay (my dad) can talk too. You have not seen each other for a long time and he missed you so much.

Neng, please listen to my daughter, your mommy, so you will be a good child. You study well and be good always.

I love you Neng. I missed you so much!

Love,
Mamang Eling

I was laughing while typing what she was saying…as if she was reading a true letter from my Mom. Even the tones are much like Mamang Eling! :-)

Summer heat is off!!!!

I was complaining about the hot weather yesterday (and my title of that post: Summer heat is on!!!) that it didn’t give me any right to fuss about the weather today  God must have heard my grumbling yesterday and he sent Mr. Sun somewhere to hide so I could concentrate on my task. We had rain showers almost the whole afternoon and goes on until tonight. I was trying to finish my task but dysmenorrhea disturbs me same as the internet connection that is too slow which I suspect due to the rain shower. So…..this means it will be best to suffer summer heat than having a slow connection
