Costume return

Halloween is over and so it’s time to put up your Christmas decors. For many of us, Halloween is a time to wear costumes and go trick or treating. It is not widely observed in this part of the globe but I noticed last year that SM had a costume party for kids and before they all gathered at the entertainment area for the awarding ceremony, the kids in costumes hopped from one store to another to trick or treat. Last week I told Ella that I will buy her an orange bucket that she can use to trick or treat. Was planning to let her join since she has some costumes that I have long kept. You know what reply did I get? “Bakit ako sasali, Katoliko ba tayo?” (Why would I join? Are we Catholics?) I can’t help but roll my eyes right then and there. She is right. We are not Catholics and we don’t observe Halloween but don’t get me wrong, I just wanted her to experience it like how my mother let us experience decorating our house with Christmas decors even if we don’t really have the thing called Christmas. I am just so happy that Ella was the one who declined that idea because Donald don’t agree with mine.
