Back to sewing

I just would like to drop by and say hello before I get so busy today. It’s 2AM now and I just took a break from sewing. I wish we have on of those contemporary sofas where I can sit back with my feet up during my breaks. That would be such a treat! I am finishing a couple of orders that will be shipped today to Manila. The power went off at around 10ish. Just when I was trying to topstitch everything. I am now back into sewing mode and I am loving it.

Brochure printing

I was busy making ring slings the past couple of days and I am glad I am almost done. I want to make one for each color of fabric so I will be having 10 slings ready for photo op. Donald suggested I focus on cloth diapers and baby slings and just do the laptop sleeves and other stuffs when I have time. Well I think that is what I need to do. There are too much things I want to do for my little business like having some printed instructions on how to wear and wash cloth diapers and the step by step instruction on how to use a pouch and ring sling. That I can do with a new ink for brochure printing because the last time Donald used one of the two printers we have here at home, he got a gray and pink instead of black and red. :-)

Manners

I am very disappointed with the employee of 2GO SM branch in Davao City. It was my third time to ship items (since Donald does most of the shipping) and I get more and more disappointed with my every visit there. The lady, who appeared to be the only employee of the shop, doesn’t seem to have any idea on how to handle transactions and inquiries. She doesn’t even address me Ma’am and that is what I hate most when talking to store clerks, security guards, sales ladies/sales men and the like. I believe they ought to address each client with respect may it be a farmer with wearing his old torn clothes or the president of the Philippines on her expensive suit. I am taking into consideration that I am here in Davao City where people speak Cebuano. I don’t expect to hear po and opo, ho and oho but I am very upset with this lady who can’t even answer my questions in a very nice way. She won’t even look me in the eye! Another client who came in to ask for their cargo services just left after she didn’t entertain her well. Like what she did to me, her eyes are pinned on the monitor and her hands on the keyboard. I know I am not the only one on this and I hope the management will take time to investigate because they will loose customers with that kind of customer service that they are providing. After all LBC is just a few steps away.

Cloth Diapers now in the Philippines

I am happy to announce that I just updated my online store in multiply. I am still working on my online store under my own domain and it will take some time. So for now I put some more photos and info at Home of Cloth Diapers and Baby slings. I have added Anatomy of Fitted Pocket Cloth Diaper, How to wear Fitted Pocket Cloth Diaper, Anatomy of One-Size pocket cloth diaper, how to wear One-Size pocket cloth diapers, how to fold one-size cloth diaper insert. I also added an album of different colors of cloth diapers that you can choose from.

I might have something more. Will keep you updated! Thanks!!!!

Sunday’s best

Looks like I was more tired after my afternoon nap. We’re still here at my sister’s apartment. Maybe it’s because I am not used to having afternoon naps? Or was it because of long hours infront of the sewing machine? Some old friends came to worship with us. We are happy to see Ate Lourdes too! She’s from Trento but is staying here in Davao as of the moment while her children attend college. We seldom meet but we will be visiting them at their home next week when Kuya Roger (her husband) arrives from Luzon. Got to talk a lot of stuffs about the church in Trento. We went home with my sister and BIL in a taxi while Donald dropped by at the mall to ship the order (6 one-size-fits-all cloth diapers, 4 extra inserts and baby sling) of a teacher in UP Diliman. I think we are staying until after dinner. My sister’s PIL (who are our wedding godparents too) are coming over for dinner and we love to stay! hehehehehe….. Of course we want to spend some time with them too because we missed them last Christmas.

Pinoy Apple Juice

That is what the name of my online store. PINOY APPLE JUICE. (Love to have an online store…no need for tarps, display windows or cardboard displays to make some sales). Lord-willing that will also be the brand name of my cloth diapers and baby slings. I named it after this little guy’s love for apples.

Managing my little business

Christmas will be in 8 days and I am not yet done with gift shopping for Donald, the kids, sisters, BIL and Daddy. well I already bought something for Daddy but I want to add a few stuffs in it. Ella has already some gifts from us and there will be no problem with buying for Eman since he can’t understand yet. :-) I am quite glad I have no orders this week and I was able to sew jammies for Ella and do the laundry today. (Donald helped me with the half of it because the little guy wanted Mommy which I am thankful for. He saved me!) LOL So hopefully this weekend we can do some little shopping to complete the list.

It’s been a while that I was thinking of pursuing my little business. My first plan was not to outsource nor hire someone to help me with all the work yet as orders poured in, I thought outsourcing is a good idea. Better than hiring someone who will work beside me. But then I always have a doubt if I can handle a big business without any background in business administration. This is where Las Vegas CPA comes in. I heard they are the most respected leaders in the world of financial account so there would be no worries managing your business.Well, I am taking it slowly but surely…..hoping someday I will be able to get this business to a higher level.

Slimmer me

Sewing until wee hours in the morning made me loose weight. My tight jeans can fit me now and I am happy about that. I just wish I won’t get back to my old figure….hated my pics looking like a stick. I will keep on sewing so I won’t be needing Solo Slim to get the figure I wanted. hehehehe

These diapers are shipped to Mandaluyong and the client sent me an email right after she received the package telling me how happy she was. :-) I just love it when people tells me they are satisfied with what they have paid for and said she will surely order again when the baby grows bigger. :-)

Fussy baby in the house

I am so full. We had shrimps, crabs and lechon (roasted pig) for dinner. The neighbor invited us to her son’s birthday and she saw me sewing surrounded with a huge mess. So she said she will just bring food for us but wanting Ella to go there for some games. In just a few moments food was delivered by their househelp and Donald’s eyes are sparkling. hehehehehe. Thankies neighbor! Forgot her name because I seldom go out of the house. ;-)

I am working on an order from a doctor based in Mandaluyong and it’s feeding time again for the little guy. I decided to blog a bit so I wouldn’t be catching up about many things going on here. I do not know if Eman is cutting his second tooth but I guess he is. He was very fussy yesterday. He is down with colds and have some episodes of slight fever. We went out yesterday to do some delivery and that helped a lot in easing his pain. Read the rest of this entry »
