This morning Eman and I went with Donald and Ella to school. We didn’t stay there actually but instead we went to Ate Lourdes’ house which is just across the street. Ate Lou is the wife of the church treasurer and she and her husband are one of the nicest couples that I ever met. They treat us like family and they adored Ella and Eman so much.
We had black out for 15 hours since 10pm last night. It was not so bad because it was cold last night even until this afternoon so there was no problem. I usually freak out when power is out because Ella could not sleep without a fan. I learned my lesson with her so I am trying not to get Eman so used with fan. I am always bundle him up or I let him wear socks and pyjamas at night that Ella haven’t experienced. Well I tried it with her when she was not yet a month old but she would be sweating like she was running in a baby marathon and so the dozen pyjamas that I got as gifts went to my cousin’s daughter.
Ella was still having her tutorial class and the teacher talked to Donald about what happened the other day. She went out to run an errand and so a teacher much older than she (the teacher looks like she’s in her early 30’s while the other teacher looks like she going to retire anytime this year) substituted for her. The substitute pretended she doesn’t know how to read what was written on the board. Ella asked her if she could not REALLY read it and asked her to sit down and listen to her while she points each letter, recites its letter sound and read the whole word to her. The teacher could not help but laugh out loud. That’s my gurl!

Nothing interesting happened today but I got some bad news. My cousin, Manang Inday, sent me an IM saying my grandfather was brought home from the hospital because his body won’t take in any medication at all. What made it worst is that he is vomiting blood. He was once a very healthy man but when he came back from the the US (he is a WWII veteran), he came home with some health issues that lead him to what he is going through now at the age of 87.
Here’s my inseparable grandfather whom we call Tatang (Ilocano term for father) and my dear grandmother whom we call Inang (Ilocano term for mother). Read more… »
Donald uploaded on Youtube the video I took of Eman and his pacifier. Can’t resist sharing this here.
Nothing interesting happened today but one thing frustrates me and that is my breast (I must say TWO things…the left and the right) Eman had two bottles of two ounces each tonight because he isn’t contented with what he gets. He wets his diapers 6 to 8 times a day and poops 4 to 6 times a day which is a sign that he gets enough milk but he still would cry. I’d check if he’s wet and for whatever is causing his fussiness and when I put my cheek near the side of his mouth, he would attempt to suck it.

Ella was very busy with her bike and crafts since we got here from Davao. Donald also made her a swing made of motorcycle tire which became a haven for her (Wish I have taken a photo to show how it looks. Maybe tomorrow I could). She would go on her business alone or sometimes with her friend Charlie although Donald and I don’t like that boy to be here because he would just come when he’s not playing with someone or he just wants food. Often Ella would go home crying because he pretends he doesn’t hear Ella’s call and he is so good at snobbing her.
But anyway, he is the best kid in the neighborhood that we could let Ella play with so we got no choice but to let him in.

I was meaning to post about Eman’s birth story but I can’t seem to find time to finish what I have started writing 4 days ago. I don’t have the luxury of time to blog now since Eman’s always calls me to feed him.
We are very happy that I am breastfeeding him because I failed to purely breastfed Ella before. Aside from getting nutrients that formulas don’t have, we could also save A LOT.
Although the following day after his birth we fed him with formula using a small syringe because I still don’t have much milk yet, I am very thankful that I have enough milk now (and crossing my fingers and toes that the supply will last until he decides to eat rice) He wasn’t satisfied with what he can get from me on the second day (he is really a boy!) so we have to give him formula through syringe to prevent confusion between my nipple and the bottle’s nipple. Now I feel I am floating in the air because I can’t get enough sleep especially at night when I have to feed and change his diaper but I love it. It feels so good to hold him close to me and his smiles always delights us all. Read more… »
I got to read a post from Julie’s blog months ago about her issues on breastfeeding with her four adorable kids and how do people react on why she doesn’t breastfeed. We are actually on the same boat when Ella was still a baby. I tried breastfeeding her but my milk supply isn’t sufficient not to mention my inverted nipple on my right breast. I had no idea if the trauma on my Uncle’s death has something to do with it too and the food that I ate when I was still pregnant. Like her, I do get some negative reactions from my MIL (who breastfed her four children). It’s annoying how people judge you. But when we went to their farm last weekend, I think she has changed her perspective because here’s what I saw. Read more… »
