House rules

Not much going on here today. Ella went to school in the morning, watched movie (again) when she got home, ate, slept, played. Donald made himself busy on the pc tweaking his blog and blog hopping and me on the sewing machine with my cloth diaper project. I already did 24 cloth diapers which still needs to be sewn with velcro. I hope I could still sew the last 12 pieces tonight and tomorrow morning as I am really wanting this project to be “officially” done before we leave for Ate Lourdes’ house in the afternoon for our weekly bible study. All in all I will be having 6 newborn size and 36 small size cloth diapers. I do not want to run out of it when the weather is not fine. Read more… »

Valentine’s surprise

Photobucket

When we went to Tagum last Wednesday, Valentine decorations at the mall’s lobby caught Ella’s attention. She was insisting that we should get her one of those red heart boxes. For her, Valentine’s day is as special as Christmas  and I had no idea where did she get that.

Last night I said I am not going home yet, that I am not dragging my feet back home and that I really mean it. Forget it. After debating with myself, I gave in and packed our stuffs. Although I really wanted to stay for the weekend, I decided it is best to go home since I am not in the mood to commute. We were ready at 4am, waiting for a text message from Ate Gina. Donald changed Ella’s clothes while she’s sleeping while I do the final packing of stuffs. I already put everything in one corner and waited. After a few moments, Donald went to get a taxi and Cheche (still half-awake) ushered us out of the gate. We didn’t bother waking my sister Crislyn and BIL because like us, they were still up until past midnight because the neighbors at the side are so loud. They were drinking and talking about nonsense stuffs loudly that I wanted to throw a stone over their roof. After their “noise barrage” and before we could finally go to sleep, a neighbor at the back thought that the best time to chop woods is at 2am and so that is what he did. :-( Such crazy neighbors! Spic and span

So everywhere I look, I see none of the old clutter. At least from where I am sitting right now. :-) Never mind about the two small rooms where Ella’s toys and more of our stuffs are. I already did some cleaning there but still needs more work which will follow in the next few days. Ella and I cleared her desk and bookshelf last night then I put away all of the trashes that were kept in her drawers. She’s such a keeper like me. Keeping every bit of paper that she has doodled on and just anything she wanted to keep. Can’t blame her for that because she sees me keep all her drawing and art works in an envelope. Even her hair was hidden in one of my boxes. That’s the first time her hair was cut 2 inches shorter after she decided it’s time to give herself a haircut. I have to trick her just so it won’t be obvious that I am dumping half of her treasures in the bin. I don’t feel bad at all because most of those are just plain papers that she has cut or pictures drawn by other kids. Read more… »

Black out. Fan off.

It is Sunday again, Ella’s favorite day of the week :-) Woke up earlier than usual and had a nice breakfast. At Sunday School, I have more than ten kids and they behaved well. We had a story about the Prodigal Son and they are so amazed of the picture of the son who ate pig food. As usual Ella led prayer for the opening, for the food and closing prayer as well. I was trying to get the other kids to lead prayer but they just stood infront and never did say any word! They seem to freeze there so Ella always on the rescue, raising her hand and saying she could do it. She did well again in prayers and song leading too. I will train her soon in story telling so she can handle my class and I can attend the bible study and worship service

In the afternoon we are napping when the members came calling from the door. So nap time was called for time-out :-( We had a black out from 9am to 5pm and it was soooo hot that I had a head ache :-( If only we are not too sleepy we could have not slept without fan. Donald had a bible study with the members while I folded the laundry. At 4ish I called Ella and we went to the grocery store to pick some other things needed for her small party tomorrow. She was so excited though and even told one mother at church that she will gonna have a roaster pig tomorrow and invited the kids and moms too  Of course Donald have to cut her off by telling them we will only have some spaghetti’s and other dishes but no roasted pig.

At last I have finished arranging the clutter on the two rooms :-) I am kinda crammer you know. I can get myself to do things in the last minute. Donald and I arranged the living room and took out the bed in there to make more room for chairs. I also put a board on the end of the table and put a fabric and a banner. Ella was really thrilled she was having another birthday! :-) She was singing all afternoon and even slept early tonight ‘cos she said she will be up first thing in the morning to sing herself a Happy Birthday.

Dancing antenna

I woke up and showered early, Tatang will fetch me for a Business Opportunity Meeting in town. While waiting for him, I checked my mails, write a few letters and worked on a story. I am not yet done with it when he came, so I left my work undone.

The BOM went well…it was conducted by a company selling soap, coffee, food supplements, herbal sanitary napkin and the magnetic-therapheutic jewelries. This jewelry was said to magnetize all the toxins out of your body which is secreted through urine and sweat. And the fascinating thing is, you feel a lot more energized when you wear it!

It was past 1 in the afternoon when I arrived home. I sat straight on my pc to finish what I am writing…to my dismay the connection went on and off…as the wind blew, the antenna on top of the tree sways too…and that made my internet doze on and off. At one moment it says connected, then it has a lovely red X the next moment….this goes on and on for hours. And boy I wanted Donald to climb up there and hold the antenna still until I am done. He called Smart and the one who installed it, they will transfer it on top of the chapel by Monday and there would be no more dancing antenna by then.

Donald and Tatang had visited 4 households this afternoon and Ella was sooo excited that Sunday School is just a sleep away. We will make Mother’s Day Cards tomorrow and hope she won’t insist on having a lesson about Pooh :-)
