Now the store is closed and I am all alone here doing some online tasks. Christmas songs by Dean Martin is playing….I miss Mamang Eling so much and I miss our little house in Liwayway. This year is a lot different than the Christmases and New Years we celebrated when we are still living there. I still wanted to celebrate with my relatives in Kabacan but let’s see if we can go home this year. If not, we will be celebrating again with my sisters and Daddy in one of the white beaches in Samal or Talicud. I would also like to put some lights and maybe a pair of Felt snowflake stockings for the kids. We are not really celebrating Christmas but I want to do it for the kids.

I cannot stop daydreaming about becoming one of the successful individual from rags to riches. To be featured in Entrepreneur or my favorite Reader’s Digest. If I will become successful, I was wondering if selling Ukay-Ukay and becoming one of the wealthy young entrepreneur will be the story. I think that is slightly impossible. Maybe a story about someone who became successful in a small business and went to invest in gold bullion will be the perfect story but finding a stash of gold in one of the ukay-ukay bales is easier to believe eh? So I guess I’d start buying more and more bales and who knows I will be lucky.

Health Care Job Opportunities are currently on the rise, as you can see all around there are countless advertisements for medical assistants, coders and billers. Many of those positions available now require only a small amount of training and can be done conveniently online through health care job site. Not only are there a lot of these opportunities but there are also a variety of different healthcare job opportunities in different fields to choose from. They range from administrative jobs, to nursing jobs to medical jobs to assisting jobs, various types of aides etc. But not only are there a lot of available jobs now, the department of labor projects that there will be a continued rise in the amount of positions available, as much as a 30% increase by 2014! Like I said before, a lot of these jobs require training that doesn’t need a lot of time or money and can be done in the comfort of your own home. Not only that but when you have completed the required education you can also work from home.

Lately we are pondering about getting minivan.

We have been thinking about it over a hundred times and we have come up with a decision that we are getting one. Not the exact color. We are praying God will give it to us because we could really use it for our Tupperware and ukay-ukay venture. LOL This is just a very small vehicle but this is what we can afford. Spare parts are very cheap too unlike Ferrari parts that are extremely pricey. Crossing our fingers that we can have this soon.

Many are asking,  does alli work??? So I was a bit intrigued, did some little research about that “thing”. Just follow the link if you want to know more about the product. Personally, I’d rather choose to go on a strict diet and exercise than popping that pill. How I really wish I need to loose weight. I think I am born to be like a bamboo stick. sigh.

Since Ella started going to SPED school, my fear of letting her eat her lunch without us has vanished so quickly when Donald explained to me that they have a teacher aide that assists them. Well, Ella can already eat alone. At two, she feeds herself and uses spoon and fork without problem so at 7 she is already pretty used to it. My fear is her going out of the classroom and running around the playground….bumping to another kid and hitting her head hard or getting her knees skinned. But I was also told not to worry about that thing because they are not allowed to get out of the classroom. They have their pillows with them for their nap after they eat lunch. That made me feel comfortable sending her everyday to school.

Then one day she told her Daddy not to accompany her to her classroom. Donald brings her huge school bag inside the campus to their classroom door because it is very heavy for a grade 1. With all her books, notebooks and her snacks, water and lunch on the smaller bag – I won’t let her do the carrying alone. But during the PTA meeting, parents were told that there will be no parents and guardians allowed inside the campus during the morning. We can only enter during the afternoon when the classes ended. At least it is a good training to the children to be independent but I think they should remember that these 1st graders are still so little to be pulling their trolley bags that weighs more than half of their body weight.

Anyhoo, what makes me feel sad again is that during Ella’s Nutrition Month Celebration parents were not allowed to stay. Donald asked if he can take some photos but the teacher told him that it’s an activity exclusively for the students. The teacher told Donald that she will just tag us after she upload photos on Facebook. So the photo above is the only reminder of Ella’s Nutrition Month Celebration in our camera (the picture of an apple serves as her props for their presentation which I missed. hayts!)….and also this one before they left for school that day :

Let’s all face it. Never did I hear that the value of gold depreciated. In fact as far as I can remember when I was still working on a gold pawnshop the value of a 21 karat gold is worth 450-600 pesos per gram. Presently, a pure refined gold is worth to 1,200 per gram. That’s five years span. See how the value of gold appreciates?

After Donald worked on a gold pawnshop, he I tried to invest in gold buying too. No it’s not what you think. A huge amount of money is needed if you want to invest in gold buying. It’s big time and can’t afford it. What I’m talking about is buying gold like a broken gold bracelet, a gold lock, loose pair of earrings, and broken gold bits from jewelries.

He want to do it again. I wish we have a capital for this gold buying business. Someday he might go big time and could buy gold coins from the US and keep it as his collection.
