Ella’s Nutrition Month Celebration

Since Ella started going to SPED school, my fear of letting her eat her lunch without us has vanished so quickly when Donald explained to me that they have a teacher aide that assists them. Well, Ella can already eat alone. At two, she feeds herself and uses spoon and fork without problem so at 7 she is already pretty used to it. My fear is her going out of the classroom and running around the playground….bumping to another kid and hitting her head hard or getting her knees skinned. But I was also told not to worry about that thing because they are not allowed to get out of the classroom. They have their pillows with them for their nap after they eat lunch. That made me feel comfortable sending her everyday to school.
Then one day she told her Daddy not to accompany her to her classroom. Donald brings her huge school bag inside the campus to their classroom door because it is very heavy for a grade 1. With all her books, notebooks and her snacks, water and lunch on the smaller bag - I won’t let her do the carrying alone. But during the PTA meeting, parents were told that there will be no parents and guardians allowed inside the campus during the morning. We can only enter during the afternoon when the classes ended. At least it is a good training to the children to be independent but I think they should remember that these 1st graders are still so little to be pulling their trolley bags that weighs more than half of their body weight.
Anyhoo, what makes me feel sad again is that during Ella’s Nutrition Month Celebration parents were not allowed to stay. Donald asked if he can take some photos but the teacher told him that it’s an activity exclusively for the students. The teacher told Donald that she will just tag us after she upload photos on Facebook. So the photo above is the only reminder of Ella’s Nutrition Month Celebration in our camera (the picture of an apple serves as her props for their presentation which I missed. hayts!)….and also this one before they left for school that day :

Sorry photos are just too big. I am too lazy to resize so I am using the photo uploader in Wordpress.
EDITED: Photos are not just too big….but way way toooooo big that it went past the widget. LOL So I resized it and hope it fits perfectly.
Gold coins buy & sell
We all buy and sell Gold for different reasons. Gold has proved to be a great investment over the years and remains a coveted metal for making jewelry and other accessory items. Given the value at stake, it is important, however, to get the services of a reputed buyer or seller as the case may be, to avoid getting cheated. The money for gold transactions depends largely on the purity or the quality of the gold item on offer. There are basically three techniques to test purity when you want to buy or sell gold and jewelry.
B before anybody decides to buy gold coins and sell them, it is always better to research on the resources and facilities available to the service provider. While a company or a person may not be inherently dishonest, they may not have the tools to do the job correctly. It is also important to remember that buying or selling of any kind is a contract and one should read all terms and conditions carefully. There may be a minimum age, and other criteria, to be able to buy and sell gold.
Invest wisely
Let’s all face it. Never did I hear that the value of gold depreciated. In fact as far as I can remember when I was still working on a gold pawnshop the value of a 21 karat gold is worth 450-600 pesos per gram. Presently, a pure refined gold is worth to 1,200 per gram. That’s five years span. See how the value of gold appreciates?
After Donald worked on a gold pawnshop, he I tried to invest in gold buying too. No it’s not what you think. A huge amount of money is needed if you want to invest in gold buying. It’s big time and can’t afford it. What I’m talking about is buying gold like a broken gold bracelet, a gold lock, loose pair of earrings, and broken gold bits from jewelries.
He want to do it again. I wish we have a capital for this gold buying business. Someday he might go big time and could buy gold coins from the US and keep it as his collection.
Buying gold coins
I have been hearing that there are gold coins, bars and ingots found around the Philippine archipelago. They say the Japanese buried it when the American are about to defeat them during the World War to make sure that it won’t get confiscated from them. Some say there are still a lot of treasures that has not yet found. Rumors spread that there was a treasure buried in the premises of Davao Medical Center and for the Japanese government to be able to retrieve it, they pledged to donate a huge hospital building if they are allowed to excavate in the area. I remember seeing the huge tarpaulin covering the perimeter fence of the hospital. If there is really a treasure there, the Japanese are lucky to have kept the map over the years. People also says the Japanese planted an Acacia tree on the spot where the treasure was buried as a landmark so when we see a huge Acacia tree, I think of the Yamashita treasure.
Gold has undeniably proven its power to greatly change men’s lives. It is a unique investment and the by far the best. From the ancient time until today, the sayings: There may never be the right time to buy gold coins than right now always applies and if only I have the capability to buy I’d really buy.
Gold buying
No matter what the price of gold is, you might wonder why you should invest in it. Why not consider investing in gold for good? It is one investment an investor should not overlook. When stocks are going down or the national currency is devalued its is still maintained. Since the record of history, people have invested in gold already. It is thesame as having an insurance policy when you are investing in gold. When you buy gold coins it’s value does not deplete. Gold is now Php1000 per gram and is predicted it will continue to rise for some time.Gold is now almost at $1000 per ounce and many people predict it will continue to rise for some time.
Coin bearer
He put this helmet on. Can’t help but share. So cute!
The little guy is really growing so fast. At 15 months he can tell when he wanted milk and not like his first time he has spoken “deeedeee”, now it’s more clear and so cute! He can also do “mano po” very well, runs when he does something naughty, shakes his forefinger up in the air a sign of “lagot ka!!!!” when he knew he drop something and can put together a couple of blocks. He still sweeps the floor and plays with Laida when the she is inside the house. He learned the word HOT and he uses that each time he touches something like he’s asking if it’s hot or not. LOL
He knows how to wear it….was just teasing us earlier.
He can climb up the down the bed now and does a lot of funny stunts and can charm us in his very special way. I hope he won’t grow too fast. Come October he will be the coin bearer on my SIL’s wedding. I am super excited to see him walk down the aisle at the same time scared that he might do a stunt or two. I imagine him walking back and forth the aisle, dropping the pillow with the coin on the floor and start running, pulling the tulle on the sides…..Oh I hope he will behave the whole ceremony. Ella will be the flower girl too but I am confident that she can gracefully do her part since she is already 7 and has been a flower girl to several weddings since she was 2. This is Eman’s first and to think he is still so little. I have a cute black pants for him to wear. I bought it when he was still a little baby. It will go nicely with a tux and a tie. Yeah, I am so excited. I have found several kids ties at the mall but they might be too big for him. I might sew one for him and who knows we can sell kid’s ties too.
Beauty schools
More than 7 years ago, me and Donald was busy preparing for our wedding. Since we are on a tight budget, we are hands on. My sister helped us in making our wedding invites, Donald blew balloons and I made the wedding give aways as well as the bouquets and corsage. I was even up until 4am on our wedding day. We enjoyed it and until now I love making wedding give aways of any kind. One thing that we didn’t manage to do ourselves is the hair and make-up. We hired the make up artist from my hometown who did my hair and make-up during one of the pageants I joined in college. Here in the Philippines, make up artists are mostly gays. Honestly, I trust them more with cutting my hair and with putting make-up.
In the US, there are many women make up artists and hair dressers and I came to realize that women can also do what the gays can if we only go to beauty schools. In Minneapolis, there is Regency which is the fastest growing beauty school in the US. It was founded 50 years ago and has expanded from two Minnesota schools in 2002 to 30 campuses across nine states. One of which is Louisiana Beauty School. The public benefits from the services that the are providing as part of their training. Truly they are the most sought after school in the entire country.
Daddy’s vacation
I am really behind in updating my blog. See I even haven’t blogged about Daddy’s one month visit here in Davao. He arrived just before Donald’s birthday last April 27. From Pagadian City, he visited his older brother in Cagayan de Oro City for a couple of days before heading to Davao. It is nice to have him around because our yards are clean. Since my sister moved just a few blocks from here, we can always bring the kids to see him. He was busy tending my sister’s yard and he also did ours which is really nice. I guess he wasn’t bored here at all. I wonder how he can make the bermuda grass looks so smooth as a carpet. He also helped painting the fence with the little guy’s supervision. LOL Daddy did a lot of exercise here but it is nothing compared to what he is doing in his farm. I never saw him had bulges on the belly. Never did he need any of the best fat burning exercise because he is always active and sweating.
Eman was all over the place, peeking in between the planks. Can’t help to share his photos. I find them cute.
Here’s the reason
I have neglected this blog for a month because of this.
Well, yeah it took me a month to get it done. In between sewing, I sew some cloth diapers and baby slings, talk to my plants (I am going crazy over bougainvillea’s), feed the little guy (we are still breastfeeding), eat, sleep and get sick. LOL I could say it is the biggest curtain in the world for that.

Convenience store that is not convenient
I think I better write here my one of the worst experience with a cashier. It was last Holy week when we went to the beach. The malls are closed the previous day so Crislyn asked us to drop by at a convenience store to get softdrinks, water and junk foods. By the name of the store, Convenience Store, it should be convenient but it’s otherwise. We asked the taxi to wait, Cheche and I (with Eman in the sling) hurriedly picked the items we need. There is not much of customers yet since it is early morning so I thought we can run to the door in no time. I glanced at my watch and it will be in 30 minutes and the boat will leave. When it was our turn, the cashier was the sloooooowest I have ever seen in my entire life! I told her to just scan one item and type in the number of pieces so it will be fast but their barcode scanner is on its last leg and cannot do it. I have 6 bottles of softdrinks, 5 small bottles of pro-biotic drink, 6 siopao, 2 cartons of baby food, a huge bottle of water and almost a dozen pack of junk foods and she scanned ONE BY ONE! Hmpft!!!!!
