Wrinkle cream

My mom’s death anniversary will be in three days. We cannot go home to visit her grave and to see Daddy and my sisters since we moved farther from there. It will cost us much for just bus and van fare from here to our hometown. That will be approximately seven hour trip. There are lots of things to take care of, the last computer payment will be due on Ella’s 5th birthday and we cannot keep up with all of these. So I decided not to go home. Although we will not be there, what matters most is we honor Mamang’s memories. I missed everything about her….but I know she is with the Lord. That comforts me so much. I don’t have a mother to buy wrinkle cream, make ups and little gifts.

Orovo detox

Just recently, my classmate since elementary until high school got married. He was a bully before but turned out to be a good friend. All of my classmates are worried about him, for one good reason is he has a rheumatic heart disease of which might cause his death plus he has grown sideways. I last saw him last year and he was like the size of an upright fridge and this is not good for his health. At times he cannot walk because of his arthritis too and he cannot bear his own weight. I was thinking about the whole class surprising him with a wedding gift of Orovo detox. He’d surely be suprised!

Little Miss Ella

Sunday has been great. We had a story about Jonah and the whale. Since I have kids in mixed ages, I had to make sure the 3-year-old understoods what I am trying to imply like the 4, 8 and 10 year-olds. The story should only take a few minutes but it took a little longer as I have to translate from English to Tagalog and Bisaya  Oh well, it’s good that I don’t have to do it in Ilocano and Ilonggo :-) But in case I need to do it with these 5 languages, I still could manage :-)

We have 5 baptisms again after the worship service. I think we needed baptistry here. That will be much easier for everyone as we have to drive a few minutes from the chapel to the river. After the baptism we again piled in Bro. Bernard’s car to the place of the new members. We passed by ricefields and Ella was really thrilled to see hundreds of ducks. It was so hot and I feel very exhausted and dizzy that is the reason I never had the mood to blog last night.

At night Ella had a chat with Tita Crislyn and Tita Cheche, you got to hear her talk! She was like an old woman who was reincarnated in Ella’s body. Although I am the mother and I hear her everyday talk like that, it still amazes me all the time. I don’t know what this child has eaten or drank…I hope I have a recorder to record all her statements. Can’t believe how this little girl talks as if she lived for hundred of years

I felt like dragging my feet all day. Still feeling not well yet I have to go to town to check on the school for Ella. The first one was near the market and I don’t like the location. A little school just behind the fish and meat stalls :-( I picked a few items in the grocery store on my way home and I could not understand the weather here. One hour it is grilling hot and the next there were black heavy clouds and very strong wind. When I arrived home, Ella and Donald was playing here in my pc. They love it when I leave the house. I told Donald about the school I went to, that I don’t like it. We went to the school nearest us to check what they offer. Ella rode her itsy bitsy bike, she is really very good at driving. I learned to ride a bike when I was 8 and so is her Daddy. But she did it when she was 4! Her bike’s seat was broken by the kids and Donald put wires to keep it in place but it hurts her behind. And so I said “If you’d be good, I will get you a new bike.” I was excited to see her reaction…instead of jumping in delight she said “I have this bike, this will be fine. We don’t have money to buy a new one.”

Can someone tell me what happened to our little girl? She seemed to grow one year in a day

Computer rentals

When I was still in college, I had a chance to assist on a masteral thesis of one of the instructors of the College of Veterinary Medicine. I could say I almost did all the work. I picked up the box of chicks from the Agri-Vet Store, weighed each one and put wing bands on their tiny wings. Everyday I feed all 110 heads, clean their cages and the waterers and then refill it with clean water. I enjoyed getting their weights every week and seeing them turn from chicks to chicken. When the study ended on the 45th day, the dirty work is over and the paper work is yet to begin. At that time there’s no computer rental around town, good that one student has her own pc which she offered to use.

Longest prayer

Remember how Ella eagerly listens to Donald when he explained about baptism last Sunday? Well tonight right before dinner, Ella was shooting questions about the Creation one after another. So Donald had to answer them all before she complains that “Daddy doesn’t know everything about bible…” She started asking about God. She asked what’s the name of God….Donald said “God” Ella was stunned…”God what?…He has no family name?!!!” They had a quite long question and asnwer portion. Since we arrived here, Ella was the one who is praying before meals. And so tonight she said the longest prayer I have ever heard! She sounds so cute talking to God.

“Dear God thank you for the food we eat, thank you for the sun so bright. Thank you too Lord for the rain…plants are so happy to get a drink….thank you Lord for making us human, we are your favorite Lord that you made our mouth talk. Thank you Lord for our home, our life is a lot nicer here. Thank you too Lord that you made chicken, dogs, birds, cats and fish. Please help us Lord that we can have juice always……” Oh well I could not recall everything she said! Trust me, it’s toooooo long!

After dinner, she hurriedly went to shower and brush teeth. When she was dressed, she let me get her children’s bible on the shelf and waited for Donald to read to her. Her bible has illustrations. She listens attentively, this will be until midnight I guess…Donald has to read in English and translate in Tagalog plus the question interruptions on almost each sentence he reads! LOL

Dream big!

Since we moved here in the province, we finally had a place we can call home. It is not ours but Ella claims it to be :-) I have sewed a curtain for several windows. Though the windows here are a little bit smaller, I made a standard size curtains since we still have plans on getting our place of our own someday.

Ella is always telling me to build a big house with soft and nice poster bed with Disney Princess theme. Oh well as they say dream big so I am dreaming too like a child to have an elegant dining set and have my own home office where I can spend hours blog hopping :-) I might as well start saving for this big dream to come true so I will start hunting for more opps for a kickstart!

Life Insurance: a must

We really can’t tell how short life is…just today I heard that one of the member of the church in our hometown passed away. She was Inang’s younger sister, Auntie Sabing. It was her second stroke, was confined in the ICU for several days and was discharged last Saturday. We thought she could recover since the Doctor said her response  to the medicine is quite good.  But then there was a sudden change of her condition. In times like these I always thought about getting cheap life insurance which can be of great help with the expenses from medical bills to funeral expenses.

The magic of Orovo

I was putting on a light make up last Sunday when I noticed I had white heads on my nose. I was thinking about pricking it but this will irritate my skin…I just thought of becoming more concious since I seldom look in the mirror the past weeks. When we moved here I haven’t found a nice spot for the mirror to hang and I get so busy in my pc and trying to put all the things in its places. I have to have mirrors all over the house so I could be concious of my looks. I wanted to gain weight so badly and I can feel the changes now :-) I remember my cousins back there in our hometown, they have these problems on oily faces, acne and black heads…and the most is their figures. After giving birth, the ballooned to their sizes now and seems there are no way to trim down. I found Orovo will be of great help to loose weight. I will tell them about this when I see them on the 23rd.

Martial Law declared!

Not much of going on today. I am still not feeling well…got a headache added to the neck and back pains :-( Ella went about marching around the house, played alone and sneaked out from the front door to play with the kids but was called in everytime. I told her she is not allowed to play with them today. Most of her toys are broken or were stolen by the kids and that upsets me so much. Everyday I hear one squeeling about the other stealing Ella’s toy and everyday too, I am seeing broken toys! This is not good at all and I am making Ella understand that we should not let them play anymore with her toys. Last week I sorted her toys, the barbies and good ones are put in the crate and should not be carried outside for their play. I put the odd toys in one smaller crate for them to play with…hoping that everything will be taken cared of and that everything will be turned in after their play….but see, neither of this was done…so I am declaring Martial Law here. No more toys outside and they are not allowed to play either inside the house. This will not take long since I wanted the kids to play too….but I want them to learn from it :-)
