Rice, rice and rice

I just woke up from deep slumber. :D I didn’t notice it’s already 11am because it’s raining and it feels like it’s 6am. The family went to Matina Town Square for a midnight bazaar. We were not there to shop, we were there to sell. It was fun and we got a good sales although we wished it was something bigger. But we were happy anyway because we still made a sales even the weather is bad. The bazaar is from 7pm to 12midnight during Fridays and Saturdays. We were the earliest birds for two days. We wanted to be the first to get a good parking space just near the tent. Eman and Ella had so much fun roaming around. We brought Eman’s trike and he did make a good use of it…to the point of abusing it. LOL Read more… »

It’s raining since last night and I am loving it! Business is slow when weather is like this but I am happy God is washing this part of the Earth because it was too hot the past couple of days. I love the temperature but my hip joint would start hurting if it will be colder. God really knows that when I turn 18, I would get my hip injured that is why He didn’t put me in a place with four season. I could not really tolerate the very low temperature. Maybe inside the house where there is a heater but I certainly would be limping when I am out in the snow. :( If we ever found ourselves in a place with winter season I am sure Donald and the kids would spend the entire day playing in the snow. Things I am thankful for

Mommy Ruby has launched a  Thanksgiving Giveaway and I am joining. Yay! I am not really lucky on contests and draws but this one is very enticing since one of the mechanics is to write the things that happened last year that I am thankful for. There are a lot of them but I just have not gotten around to blog about it before the year ended. Now I finally had the chance to write about it because I am joining.

I am thankful for a very wonderful New Year’s celebration at Paradise Island with Daddy, my siblings and BIL last January 2010. Read more… »

I have no reason now to be lazy in writing a post….not just a post but a “decent post”. I have missed blogging about what is going around especially about the kids. The computer is in the store and I find it soooooo hard to go there just to blog. So I sweet talked Donald to bring home it home. The store is just across the street so we can still connect to our internet using a router and a wireless adapter. Wow! I didn’t realize I missed getting online! I need this here since I am staying at home most of the time trying to sew more baby slings and diapers. I am constantly looking for ideas over the internet too for the latest fab like bag organizers. So I am into making my own bag organizers and bags. Then I will try to make bag hangers and anything with my stash of fabric and notions. Read more… »

Toys

Last Wednesday we went to an American Surplus Warehouse and we were able to bring home toys for Eman. My sister Crislyn went with us and she also went home with a huge bag of loot mostly breakables and a couple of footballs. Eman also got one. :) Ella got to tow Barbie’s and a Barbie car but she went home empty-handed after I heard the price. We already bought a present for her and buying used toys at almost brand new price is crazy. Some even don’t have clothes and are sold for P150.00. When we were about to go home, Eman went ecstatic over his new toy (have to post a picture soon). He loved it so much. I wish we have a huge yard so we can hoard toys. I am partial with play houses and wooden swing sets. These are things that I really really wanted when I was small.

Sleeping early

Lately we have been sleeping early (11pm) and that is so unusual because we are family of owls. LOL Not needing any sleeping pills anymore because when we moved in our new place, it’s like everyday is a very busy day and I am always feeling so tired and sleepy when we go home. Even Eman sleeps early and that is something that I am so thankful about. No more chasing him and playing with him in the wee hours of the morning. I do not know if it’s the busyness of the size of the place we are staying. No more playing area for the kids so they have to sleep early. LOL

Wanting to teach this to little Eman…..but it’s like a girly poem. Mamang taught me and my sister Crislyn this when we are still learning to read. I will still teach my little guy this one in memory of his grandma. He has to learn this before anything else (playing xbox 360 or driving a car). LOL

All Things Bright and Beautiful

~Cecil Frances Alexander

All things bright and beautiful,
All creatures great and small,
All things wise and wonderful,
The Lord God made them all.

Each little flower that opens,
Each little bird that sings,
He made their glowing colors,
He made their tiny wings.

The purple-headed mountain,
The river running by,
The sunset, and the morning,
That brightens up the sky;

The cold wind in the winter,
The pleasant summer sun,
The ripe fruits in the garden,
He made them every one.

He gave us eyes to see them,
And lips that we might tell,
How great is God Almighty,
Who has made all things well.

Wedding coins

MIL and SIL went to the store to pick up the wedding invites that I was asked to make for SIL’s wedding. I was not very happy with the outcome but I was told beforehand that all she wanted is a simple invite. I will also have to finish 100 pieces of key chain as wedding give-aways. Glad that I will not sew pouches for it. She showed a little pouch that I think can be found downtown. It contained new five peso coins that will serve as their wedding coins. I suddenly thought about the ancient weddings of Egyptians, Greeks and Romans where they use real gold coins as wedding coins. That would be so awesome if we can do that nowadays. Buying gold has been recognized for centuries as one of the best ways to preserve one’s wealth and purchasing power and it is a great investment.

Christmas is in the air

Christmas is in the air! Oh how I love to hear Christmas songs being played on the local radio. It brings a LOT of good memories during my younger years…the years we spent with Mamang. The nights when we sit down and watch the lights dance. She always made sure we have something to open during Christmas or New Year’s eve even how small it is. She is just soooooo thoughtful. A trait that I am proud to say we siblings and my kids inherited. :D For the kids, I will put up a small Christmas tree adorned with white led christmas lights. Why white? because it’s my Mamang’s favorite color!

Everything round

Eman will be turing 18 months come September 28 and he constantly gives everyone joy. It’s like just yesterday when we learned I was pregnant with him and how time flies so fast! Right now he’s getting more and more active each day. He loves to play with his anything round. He is crazy over round things especially balls. It’s nice to get him a ball like personalized footballs that are selling like hotcakes online. Got to work more to afford that one.
