People’s Park

We missed the morning worship service for several Sundays due to our trips to our hometown and for being sick. So tonight we drove downtown to attend the evening service. It was so nice to see Ate Leah, the preacher’s wife. She never fails to make me feel I am home. :D MIL was also there but only Ella got to bond with her. Eman still didn’t get it that she is his grandma because we seldom see her. There are only around 15 in attendance so after the service, I was able to talk to almost all of them while Eman explored the auditorium with Ella behind him.

It was already 9pm when we left the church but before heading home, we dropped by at People’s Park to let the kids do some walking. I was hesitant to go there but we promised Ella and we have to keep our word. Ella was so happy and kept on thanking us for bringing them there. Eman was so thrilled to be walking in a very brick path and didn’t let us carry him.

First stop was at this giant book.

Eman was happy to be there but he was not so happy to see the huge sculptors. Though he would point and stare at them like he’s waiting for them to say “hi” to him, he would never get close to them.

Ella saw this sunflower wall and thought she has to have her picture taken.

There was also this part of the park where they throw coins like wishing well. It has wall fountain with beautiful lights that makes the cascading water like real waterfall. Again Ella asked me to take a photo of her.

We have to keep an eye of the little guy for he might jump in there.

Notice his hair. I am afraid he will need testosterone cream for hair loss but none of his grandpa’s are bald.

We just walked the half of the park since it’s already getting late. Ella was in for picture taking so I grabbed this rare chance and took a couple of photos of her before heading home.

Next time we go back there, it must be earlier so Ella can play at the playground. She so wanted to play but we have to leave because she has to go to school tomorrow. Glad she didn’t insist. She is getting good. :D

Last will?

“Life is uncertain but death is certain.”

That is what the preacher has said during my cousin’s funeral service. True. And tonight we heard another message to comfort the bereaved. I have been always afraid of a loved one’s death when I was a child and still has so little faith. I thought when someone dies, it is a long process of acceptance. Now I consider myself old. At 28 I have come to realize that we should not be grieving forever because we shall see each other again - when we all get to heaven. Yes we will miss our dear loved one but aren’t we happy that their sorrow and suffering has ended?

Death is certain that is why Donald and I talk about where he wanted to be buried. He wanted to be beside my mother in our hometown. I also tell him what I wanted to wear and the color of my coffin. I even joked her that I wanted my coffin to be wider so I can make a pose inside. LOL I am also collecting nice portraits that they can put on top of it and to make slide shows to be shown each night after the service. There are still more instructions that I will write for my family to follow closely and if they don’t….they know what I could do to them. LOL

Quick dip

Photobucket

Last month we have been down with flu for a couple of weeks. I am still breastfeeding the little guy and that makes me feel the guilt to take any medicine. So last June 26 we went to the beach to get the kids (and ourselves) dipped in the sea water with high hopes that we will all shake the cough and colds away naturally.

Ella was not very happy because the sand is not white LOL

Donald spent the entire time with them playing and walking on the shore.

It was unplanned. I just told Donald I wanted to bring the kids to a beach near our place so we all left after half an hour. Donald, I and the kids rode our reliable two-wheels while Cheche hopped on a bus. We have not found a nice and clean beach near our place so we ended up going farther than we thought…at Tabing Dagat beach resort in Sta. Cruz. Funny because Cheche almost got lost if Donald didn’t wait on the highway.

Eman checking out the place one more time before we left.

I planned to swim but Cheche and I didn’t get around to it. We just sat and ate while the three played in the water. Donald was making fun of Ella that her flu is gone because she accidentally drank sea water. LOL We arrived there at around 2pm and we stayed for a couple of hours. Going home was not very easy since the two kids slept and I have to hold Ella while Eman is on the sling but it was a nice ride though. Lots of horses grazing just beside the road and we were on 30kph only. The trip is not anything close to Disney vacations but Ella and Eman will surely remember it as a memorable “family time”. I wish we could do it often.

Sick

I am not feeling well since yesterday and this feeling is what I hate the most. Runny nose, watery eyes, swollen sinuses, headache, bodyache plus clogged ears. Cheche had it first, then Donald, they passed it to Eman….and Ella caught it and now my turn. I don’t want to take pain relievers but I really need one. Sorry Eman, I will just flush it with lots of water. I wish I could get a whole body massage….and I already dropped hint. Hope Donald picked it so I can get a good sleep and hopefully to feel better tomorrow for our trip back to our hometown.

Gold

Let’s all face it. Never did I hear that the value of gold depreciated. In fact as far as I can remember when Donald was still working on a pawnshop, the value of a 21 karat gold is worth 450-600 pesos per gram. Presently, a pure refined gold is worth to 1,200 per gram. That’s five years span. See how the value of gold appreciates? After he worked there he planned to invest in gold buying too. No it’s not what you think. A huge amount of money is needed if you want to invest in gold buying. It’s big time and we can’t afford it. What I’m talking about is buying gold like a broken gold bracelet, a gold lock, loose pair of earrings, and broken gold bits from jewelries.

I want to do it again. I wish we have a capital for this gold buying business. Someday I might go big time and I could buy gold eagle coins from the US and keep it as my collection.

Eman’s First Birthday

Last Tuesday was Ella’s birthday and I was slacking again the past days that I have not written about it. Now I thought about doing it but first I need to blog about Eman’s birthday first before Ella’s which was more than a couple of months ago.

Stupid driver

I am one of the many who hates the drivers of uso-uso jeepney’s that plies the route of Mintal-Roxas here in Davao City. I had a bad experience riding several months ago. That time I was with Cheche and Eman and I promised to myself not to ride on ht kind of jeepney again.

Last Saturday, we had a horrible experience on the road when one uso-uso jeepney with plate number LWZ-885 recklessly drove past one jeepney. We are on a fast-lane and on the slow lane was a jeepney. Since there are only two lanes, there is not much room for this stupid uso-uso driver to over take the other jeepney but he did!!!!! He was in very high speed and we almost got hit by a container van on the opposite lane. Both the container van and the uso-uso jeepney are in very high speed so if Donald lost control, we were dead. Eman was with us, sleeping in the sling. We are always careful when driving especially with a child but there are stupid drivers that drives like there is no tomorrow. When they pulled over to drop a passenger, Donald confronted him and I also did because I was mad.

Yesterday we saw the jeepney again. Same as usual. As if the driver owns the highway and drove like hell. There are many news report about vehicular accidents involving uso-uso jeepneys. Even when they have car insurance and life insurance, they have to be careful when driving public utility vehicles. If ever I will see that stupid driver again, I will really tell him to undergo a driving lesson and seminar. Really!

Bougainvilleas

Last February during the Agro Trade Fair at SM, we bought bougainvilleas of different colors. We also bought the “Three Colors”. I do not know what is the name of it, I am sure there is. Three colors is what I hear from the farmers so we call it that. It is a variegated plant that has three different colors of flowers. Two of them has fuschia pink, pomelo orange and white and the other two I think has fuschia pink, pomelo orange and light pink. I am so bad I don’t have photos of them when we have just bought them and they are all in bloom. I was busy taking care of the sick little man at that time then we moved to a new place. Here’s a photo of the one plant in bloom. I have to post it and stare at it because tomorrow I will prune it. Goodbye flowers!

Photobucket

I decided not to wait until the flowers wilt because the other three plants have been pruned two weeks ago. I have to do it so they will bud and get the shape I wanted. I want it round like a wedding bouquet. :D The farmer told us to do pruning regularly and so all the ordinary bougainvilleas we have in the yard went from these:

To these:

Donald is crazy over these ornamental plants too. He went home one afternoon with a couple plants. I love it that he loves bougainvilleas too! Mamang used to have them in the front yard and the neighbors asks me to get some cuttings for them. We are doing this so we can have a nice yard when we move to our own place. By then we will surely get some more and a few outdoor décor to go with them. We are so excited!!!!

Heavy

No, not me but the curtain fabric. I wish I am as heavy as it is.

Anyway, I am dying to get my hair trimmed but I can’t squeeze the haircut in our daily schedule the past weeks. I do not have the patience to wait since I am always beating deadlines. I hope today I can do it. I will also try to get a pedicure, will do that myself. And oh I need to eat a LOT because I have lost weight again. I hate it when I am hard at work because I can’t eat. Sewing that curtain makes me burn some fats because of the weight of the fabric. I was asked to sew in between three panels to make it one long panel. Imagine how heavy it is! Donald and Cheche are complaining but I see it like the best fat burning supplement. It sure does burn their fats on the arms. LOL

He’s 28 and he is hating it!

Well yes, that is true. He dreaded this day to come.

Photobucket

Happy Birthday to my SUPERMAN!!!! He dreaded this day because he doesn’t like to be 28. LOL We just prepared a simple dinner with family and a couple for friends. We went out yesterday to get him a gift. I was thinking of a pair of jeans or a leather sandals or maybe a couple of men’s polo shirts because he said all his shirts have shrunk. LOL We ended up getting a pair of Converse sneakers and he sported it like a little boy yesterday when we went out to buy groceries. :D
