Getting insured

I have just wrote about health insurance which is something that I wish Donald and I could get a decent one for our family. He is already a PhilHealth member and is paying religiously after learning the lesson the HARD way last year (when Eman got hospitalized three times in a span of one month) but I honestly doesn’t feel so secured with it. Our next goal is to get another health insurance plan like the medicare supplement plans to make our minds worry-free for any untoward incident that may occur. We were caught off-guard when Eman got ill that is why we are not taking any chances now.

Ukay-ukay

I haven’t blogged yet that we are opening a store soon. We are going to be selling ukay-ukay again and part of the space will be for my handmade stuffs (cloth diapers, baby slings, jewelries and my gift items). Donald and I are so excited. I can’t even sleep because I am itching to open the bales of ukay-ukay. You know how I love the smell of the ukay-ukay from the US. :D Stocks are all in and we have already bought all the stuffs needed (glass showcase, racks, hangers, mannequins and such) and tomorrow we hope we can get the store ready for the opening on Sunday. I wish I have the time to prepare small give-aways as promotional products for the first few customers but since we are swamped with all the work, we can do that in December.

Gotta have this playset

I am not yet through the idea of me digging gold bars in the yard, it made me daydream of things I would want to buy! Here is one that I would really really want for the kids.

This is one of the biggest wooden swing sets and it would occupy our whole home lot! So I’d go buy a huge house with a huge yard where we can put this play set for the kids and their friends to enjoy. I would also want to install a swimming pool with a sun shade so we can go swimming all day without getting sun burned. Wohooooo! I really have to start digging now. Gotta buy a shovels for me and Donald. :D

Grand vacation

We are starting a small business and Donald and I are pretty much excited. We both even dreamed about it last night! Talk about being so excited. LOL So we will be very busy the next few days, weeks and months…I hope years too! I was just afraid from the day it was planned that we cannot easily take a day off to the beach or to the mall. But we have to set aside the “family time” and start working, working, working so we can pay for our house which will soon built. Working long hours will be just fine with me but I wish we can save up for a short vacation sometime next year. We want to go to Hongkong Disneyland but we are beach lovers so I guess to dream for a Royal Caribbean get away would be it. Dream on! :D

My family went bowling

Yes, we did! Last Saturday was the first time I tried bowling and it’s Ella’s first try too. I was afraid I will just put myself in shame. I imagine myself getting gutter balls from start to finish but Ella was the one so excited about it. She keeps on bugging about when will we go there etc etc while we were still killing the time at the mall before the agreed time. LOL It was actually an activity of the youth group of our congregation. Donald and I are not youth members and Ella and Eman are not either but we just went anyway because we feel we still belong with the group. LOL

His second haircut

So it is Monday again! Whew! I am such a lazy blogger. I even cannot remember what happened the past days so I went to check the photos I took. Last July 31, we decided to cut Eman’s hair.

Photobucket

Although I don’t have problem with the hair on top and back, I didn’t like the hair touching his ears. So this time, I brave the feeling of missing his hair. The first haircut which was done at FunCuts went quite smoothly. No fuss, no tears on his part but I cried a river after realizing he is not baby anymore and I missed his hair so much. LOL This time I was okay with it but we had one wailing kid at home. Donald held him while we play UP, his favorite movie. I was in charge with the razor and it took us almost forever to get it done. He went ballistic probably because our razor makes a very scary sound. I do not know what the neighbors were thinking and if we live in the US, a social worker was surely at the doorstep in just a few minutes after we started cutting his hair.

So here is, back to his old happy self. I love his hair! He is so darn cute! :D I am looking forward to his third hair cut. And oh I also did Donald’s hair afterwards. They now have the same look.

Who doesn’t want free meals?

We had free merienda and free dinner today! What a great way to live life. LOL Whoelse will give us free meals but our family. Thanks to my sister Crislyn for the Red Ribbon cake. I bought some jellos that I made this morning. Manang Inday was also there at my sister’s place chatting the afternoon away to forget about how she misses her hubby who just left last Saturday. We had no plans of staying until dinner but that is what happened. She sent us to buy fish and durian. Oh how I love the food tonight. She fixed delicious paksiw and steamed milkfish. I was so full and I will never mind having it for the next several days or even weeks!!!

Ella’s Nutrition Month Celebration

dsc00095

Since Ella started going to SPED school, my fear of letting her eat her lunch without us has vanished so quickly when Donald explained to me that they have a teacher aide that assists them. Well, Ella can already eat alone. At two, she feeds herself and uses spoon and fork without problem so at 7 she is already pretty used to it. My fear is her going out of the classroom and running around the playground….bumping to another kid and hitting her head hard or getting her knees skinned. But I was also told not to worry about that thing because they are not allowed to get out of the classroom. They have their pillows with them for their nap after they eat lunch. That made me feel comfortable sending her everyday to school.

Then one day she told her Daddy not to accompany her to her classroom. Donald brings her huge school bag inside the campus to their classroom door because it is very heavy for a grade 1. With all her books, notebooks and her snacks, water and lunch on the smaller bag - I won’t let her do the carrying alone. But during the PTA meeting, parents were told that there will be no parents and guardians allowed inside the campus during the morning. We can only enter during the afternoon when the classes ended. At least it is a good training to the children to be independent but I think they should remember that these 1st graders are still so little to be pulling their trolley bags that weighs more than half of their body weight.

Anyhoo, what makes me feel sad again is that during Ella’s Nutrition Month Celebration parents were not allowed to stay. Donald asked if he can take some photos but the teacher told him that it’s an activity exclusively for the students. The teacher told Donald that she will just tag us after she upload photos on Facebook. So the photo above is the only reminder of Ella’s Nutrition Month Celebration in our camera (the picture of an apple serves as her props for their presentation which I missed. hayts!)….and also this one before they left for school that day :

Sorry photos are just too big. I am too lazy to resize so I am using the photo uploader in Wordpress.

EDITED: Photos are not just too big….but way way toooooo big that it went past the widget. LOL So I resized it and hope it fits perfectly.

DSC-W360 ~ Our new baby.

After much deliberation from Donald that we should get a new digital camera, I gave in and bought a new baby. But we cannot do that unless we sell one of our laptops. I told him to post an ad in Davaosale and see if someone responds. Well I am not really serious about selling it but I was so surprised that it was sold. Someone responded a few hours after the ad was posted and it was sold the next day. Well. since Donald was right about me needing a new camera for my little business, we spent the proceeds for a DSC-W360 from Sony and I am loving it. I still have to play a little more with it so I can get the photos I wanted. Our old but reliable DSC-W80 is still our baby. I am still carrying it in my purse whenever we go out so it won’t get jealous. LOL

. Maybe he could when we have all the money in the banks. :D

GoDaddy ads in my homepage????

Thought I won’t be able to blog tonight. Julie posted on my wall about not accessing blog and that it shows GoDaddy ads. It flattered me somehow that she bothered to ask…..she is one of the three readers I have. LOL Well I am checking the traffic and it seems more than three are visiting…but they are not commenting. These visitors are looking for cloth diapers and such. I am now planning to relaunch this blog by running a blog give-away. That idea was born when a fellow blogger and FB friend, Ate Arlene, commented on one of my handmade jewelry photos about trying his best to win it if I will give it away as prize for my blog give away. I am excited! I would like to know how many will respond. Maybe four? I hope not. We’ll see.
