Midnight Bazaar at Matina Town Square

We joined the weekend midnight bazaar at Matina Town Square last Friday and Saturday. It was equally fun and tiring. The bazaar starts at 6pm but we were there as early as 3pm. The first day we were lucky the little guy was asleep while we set up the booth.
The Teddy Bears kept him company and rested as well because they will be working later.
It was easy to organize because the space is only 2 x 2.5 meters so we were done while the others are just starting, just in time when Eman woke up from his nap. Ella was in charge and she did a good job in chasing his brother.
The place is safe for them to roam around but we still kept an eye on them. Ella is still young and carefree to beĀ responsibleĀ of watching his brother. Eman could not be asked to sit down but he obliged only when he needed a drink or was hungry.
Look at his feet!
Good thing that they put sand in the ground. Not much of a mess especially when it rains. Ella made friends there on the second night. She bragged about knowing some “tricks” on skateboarding.
And here are the overworked bears on cloth diapers…
on a pouch sling…
and the ring sling.
The highlight of the event was when Mr. Derf Maiz, the host of a local news Una ka Bai, came to our booth and bought onesies for his baby.
It was a blessing that he discovered us because it was the start of a business relationship.
He was really interested in our goods that after he knew that we weren’t able to get a booth for this weekend, he offered to buy goods for me that he will sell in the bazaar. He and a colleague was interested in joining too and after we gave them idea on how to join, his colleague was there last Monday for the reservation of booth. Since MTS will be using the tent this weekend where bazaar is usually held, they will be moving the booths near the entrance but with a smaller space. From 32 booths, they cut it down to 23 and Donald was one of the unlucky pickers. We call it out of luck but it was a blessing in disguise. At first I don’t want to sell him the good stuffs. I wanted to sell them myself for a higher profit but after realizing that return of investment will be much faster if I let him be my “selector”, we agreed on an amount as his quota and yesterday afternoon we went to their apartment. After all, we are spending much on gas and food in joining the bazaar. Even we have brought food, the kids will ask for ice cream and hotdogs that are sold there. Eman also will also get ballistic when he sees the toys. We cannot buy whatever they wanted so the idea of wholesaling the ukay-ukay is good.

That sounds like a lot of work, but it also sounds fun! Bet the kids enjoyed running around the bazaar!
