Last Tuesday was Ella’s birthday and I was slacking again the past days that I have not written about it. Now I thought about doing it but first I need to blog about Eman’s birthday first before Ella’s which was more than a couple of months ago.
Our little guy at 1
Before Eman’s first birthday, he was rushed to the ER and thank God he was discharged the night before his birthday. That was March 28. Since there was a party at my cousin’s house on the 27th and our 4 days stay at the hospital was so tiring, I wanted to sleep longer that day but I have to get up and start the preparation. We planned a small party just for some family members, close friends and some kids in the neighborhood. Ella was very anxious to start the party. She was all dressed up early and was infront of the cake before anyone else. LOL
We managed to pose for a family picture before everyone started digging in.
Eman and Daddy
My sister Crislyn and BIL ordered a whole lechon (roasted pig) from Porkitos. I must say they have the best lechon in the city. So delicious! It was their gift for Eman.
How’s that for a birthday gift?
With Tita Lyn. Tito Ace is MIA.
We only had so little time that we only did the balloons, decorating and cook 4 batches of puto cheese. The tent we borrowed took us about two hours to get erected. Imagine the strong wind blowing the tarp, that was the hardest job we did that day. Thanks to our good friend Irene, Ella and her two friends for helping us. I am so glad I have sisters because I really cannot imagine myself taking care of everything. My younger sister Cheche was in charge of Eman while Donald and I were busy. Thanks too to my sister Crislyn and BIL who prepared the yummy spaghetti and buko pandan because I certainly cannot do all those. ‘Twas really a big help.
All we had were these food. Irene is so thoughtful for bringing roasted chicken. The cake was from Goldilocks. I bought it at the mall before we left for home from the hospital. I just decorated it with Nemo and Dory figurines and some stars and the icing on the wires. Those cake decors were bought a week before his birthday. I already had it in mind that his theme will be Nemo but when we went to order a themed cake at Goldilocks, our jaw dropped because it was so expensive. The decoration fee is as much as the price of the cake itself! So I just did some little decorating and viola! He has a themed cake!

Eman’s birthday was made special because my grandmother (my mom’s mother) and some aunts are able to celebrate with us not to mention the noisy cousins, nephews and nieces.

After dinner, they all went home (except for my cousins who lived here) to our hometown in Kabacan and we are all left all by ourselves chatting and picking at the lechon and some other food. MIL and SILS with their husband and husband to be also arrived but not after everyone left. Still there was more than enough food left than they can consume. Bad thing is I don’t have a decent photo of them.

Watching the news
Eman was so tired and so are we but he was happy. We thank God for giving Eman the gift of life. He may not be as healthy as I wished for but still God gives him strength to combat his illnesses.

I’m sorry to hear that Eman was in the hospital again! Poor little guy!
Sounds like he had a great birthday! You did an awesome job on the cake… I’m not so good at the cake decorating! *lol* … You and my SIL, Crystal, would get along great! You’re both AMAZING with your crafts, sewing, and decorating skills!!!
*hugs*
