At long last I have blogged about Eman’s 1st birthday. Now I can write about Ella’s birthday. Our Princess turned seven last June 2 and she was very happy. The day after her birthday, she started counting the days before her next birthday and she does that EVERY YEAR. LOL I told Ella that for her birthday we will go to the mall, buy her toys and eat out. No party this year and I tried to mean it. Since we have birthday gifts that she was wishing for, I was thinking she will be happy with it. She was okay with the idea but she had nightmares every night. She was crying and shouting in her sleep, a sign that there is something that was bothering her. Since she made it to SPED and since she never insisted to have a party, Donald and I thought to give it a go and give her the party she deserved even when our resources is very limited.
She was Snow White that day and she was soooooo proud and happy. I found that costume at an Ukay-Ukay stall in downtown for a little more than $2 a couple of months ago. I could not find a red headband with a huge ribbon on top so I just made her one.
Like Eman’s cake, hers was also from Goldilocks and I just put a cake topper and some flowers.
We managed to get her a lechon (roasted pig) from Porkitos. This is what she is asking for every year but we kept telling her that is is expensive and that she already had one before. My mom threw her a party when she turned one and she had lechon. but she won’t believe us because I was so dumb not to be able to take a single photo of it.
She was worried sick that her friends won’t attend her party because there is another girl in the neighborhood who celebrated her birthday too so we invited some members at church. The other girl didn’t have a party that day so we ended up having more guests than we expected but the food was still more than enough.
They played a little game too but we forgot to give out prices. LOL
She cannot wait to open her gifts and she was over the moon to see the first of three gifts we wrapped for her.
The guests, the gifts, her costume and the lechon made her beaming with pride and happiness and to Donald and I, that is what matters most. To see her happy on her special day.
