My mother’s grandbabies
Early morning when no one in the house has taken a bath yet, they stayed longer in bed staring at a large picture frame.
Ella found my mother’s picture and for days she kept it close to her.
Now Eman wants to hold it often too.
They never fought over a toy but they both want to get their way with this frame.
Now as I am writing this post, Ella is getting ready to bed with Mamang’s picture again. She is the luckiest grandchild because she was the favorite. Of course she is because she’s the only grandchild then. Now that they are two, she shares to Eman the memories she has with Mamang. I remember the day we brought Eman home to Trento, she said to Eman (who was just barely 10 days old), “Eman, ito si Mamang Eling…” showing that same picture frame. She may be the grandma that Eman never met but I am sure he will always feel the connection between them through Ella. If only Mamang is alive, I am sure they are both spoiled rotten. Eman will be turning 1 come March and how I wish she’s with us still to celebrate that very special day but even she’s gone, we always celebrate special occasion like she’s with us.
To Mamang, here are your super makukulit na apo’s saying “We love you so much Mamang Eling!”.

That’s just so sweet! … When the kids see a picture of my Dad, they always ask who it is.
