I had this sudden liking to this kind of bag. The first time I saw this kind of bag was when we were still selling “ukay-ukay”. Along with the bundle of ladies bags has a couple or more of these kind of bags. It was a puzzle to me why some people abroad uses it. That was four years ago. I never thought this will be a big hit here in the Philippines. So when I saw SM had these green bags that are sold for only P35.00 with every P500.00 receipt of single or accumulated purchases, I so wanted to buy but each time we go grocery shopping there, I always forgot. What is P35 you will pay for a reusable grocery bag? Most of us (if not all) can afford it but I just do not know why I was so thrilled when we got it for free! I just love freebies! Thanks SM!!!! But next time please don’t make me nervous. hehehehehehe.

Got this bag yesterday afternoon. I was showing to Melody how to prep the cloth diaper. We occupied one round table at the SM food court. I have three SM supermarket plastic bags that has the diapers and the baby monitor on top of it. I am still working on my packaging so I just used it for the meantime (I didn’t have much time to make Mel a canvass bag…after all I gave her a very friendly quote). Suddenly one lady approached wearing the blue uniform of SM employees. I looked around and saw people staring at us and there was another lady in uniform with a camera. I was about to ask if I violated a rule, a policy or whatever of SM that I am not aware of. The lady was saying something and I have to ask her to repeat what was she saying. You know the feeling like you are loosing your hearing when adrenaline rushes. If she didn’t use her hands to help me understand (pointing at the bags on the table and showing an SM green bag), I think I will ask her to repeat the third time. Susme! This lady was only asking me for a family photo using the green bag. Hahahahahaha! I got excited for the bag and for the family photo. The lady said our photo might get published in Daily Inquirer and asked me to sign a waiver. Was too excited for the P35 worth bag. hahahahaha! Signed it without reading. Maybe it states we are not going to ask for a talent fee for using our faces in the paper. So we all posed for the camera with a big grin. Quite thankful it was not to arrest me for showing my merchandise.

To all the environmentalist out there, please don’t judge me for not using reusable bags before. Even we have been letting the bag boy to put everything in the plastic bag, we are recycling it. But don’t worry, was thinking of using this kind of material to pack my cloth diapers in instead of the canvas. I will be going off for a while to check on Dansko shoes then will start putting away all the mess I made yesterday.
