I wasn’t able to make a post last night about our day yesterday. We were at Inang and Tatang’s place for the weekend bible study. It’s supposed to be this afternoon but Inang wanted it moved a day earlier because it was Tatang’s 60th birthday. As soon as Ella learned about it, she quickly wrapped something for Tatang which is what she usually do each time there’s special occasion (or even there was none).
I was waiting for 2pm to come because I would like to leave the house. There are people who are cutting trees in the neighborhood and I can’t stand the noise of the chainsaw.
Before we pigged out on the food that Inang prepared, Donald let each one of us give something to Tatang (and a short message as to why that thing is significant)…..anything that we have inside our pockets or purses. Some gave coins and those who don’t have pockets but picked some flowers in the garden, gave it to him anyway. When it’s my turn, I gave him baby wipes since I have nothing in my pocket. I said I couldn’t give him Eman because Donald will kill me so I am giving him the baby wipes. It is surely very significant because without it, I couldn’t clean Eman’s bottom.
It was only Ella who has brought him gifts and when almost everyone left, Ella insisted that Tatang should open them. She has wrapped two “something”.
Guess what it was? One buddy cracker and one graham cracker that she took from her food cabinet.
She is really like that. Wrapping gifts for everyone. She even has something for my dad that she hasn’t given yet since we didn’t had a chance to visit him in my sister’s place while he was still there (he went back to his farm last week). It has a carefully written script, “To Papang Lakay” and she said inside are pictures of my dad. Such a sweet girl.
I received a birthday gift from her too and bazillion of pictures that she has drawn and cards she made.
