I have been slacking again in my blogging lately and I really hate it. There are some stuffs that I wanted to write but I can’t seem to squeeze it in my daily schedule right now. I remember I promised to write about our reunion in my PIL’s farm, our latest trip back to my hometown during my grandfather’s wake, the reunion after the funeral, our short stay at Manang Inday’s house before going back here and the most important of all is Eman’s birth story. These past month I can’t stay up until midnight so my stories are neglected. I am so bad but I will try to write as much as I can.
Eman naps longer now and that should give me more time on my blog but we’ve been busy these past days on a project that we are working on. I am not going to talk about it until everything is all set because I don’t want to count the chicks while the eggs are not yet hatched. We are praying that this will start very soon because it is the very reason why our plan in moving back to my hometown was cancelled. Remember me talking about moving? I guess we will be stuck here for good. After accepting the offer for me and Donald to work for the project, I began thinking about my most dreaded month. Of all the twelve months, June is what I dreaded most because classes starts this month and it’s Ella’s birthday too so we really needed moolah.
Since the move didn’t happen, I sent Donald to the school where I wanted Ella to enroll to inquire about the schedule for the entrance examination for the school’s SPED class. It already started so Donald told Ella to get ready so she can take the test and be interviewed. Ella and I went to school and met the teacher in charge. She gave Ella a test paper and have her sit on one of the tables. I glanced at the test paper and from what I could remember the first page is English. There was a short story to read and there are some questions underneath. The test is consisted of Makabayan, Math, Filipino and English and it is really a test for the brainy. hahahaha! I say that because the words there are not the usual three to four letter words but I saw the words CARRYING, STOPPED, SENTENCES, OPPOSITE, UNDERLINED, BREAKFAST, PUNCTUATION and CAPITALIZATION. That is just for the English. I don’t know about the other subjects especially the Math. She stared at it and her eyes followed each word with a wrinkled forehead. She’s lightly hitting the side of her head with pencil in come-on-brain-start-doing-magic manner until she gave up and declared, “Hindi ko kaya ito My…” (I can’t make it My…..)
I am actually happy that she didn’t started because we could go back to take the test anytime when she’s ready. The teacher commended her for being so honest that she’s not ready yet and went on pretending she knows it. She advised me to enroll her for a tutorial class in reading and she could try to take the test before the end of the month. Ella could go back to Kinder 2 because she has too many absences from her class last school year but she’s decided that she will be in 1st grade this school year. She will start the tutorial class tomorrow and I am crossing my fingers and toes that she will learn fast and pass the test. She could be listed in the regular class if she fails in the entrance test but we will try to be one of the SPED pupils first and who knows she’ll make it.
It’s a sunny day but she didn’t mind the heat of the sun. After saying goodbye to the teacher, we walked across the field and stopped by to take some snaps of the daisies and roses infront of the classrooms.
Ella meet her old classmates there and I let them have a short chat over a bag of chicharon and breadsticks while I enjoyed looking around the little campus. I like the school because they have SPED classes which uses books the same as the ones used by the Ateneo. In the afternoon, Donald and Ella had a blast playing in the rain.
They discovered a fun way to water the only plant that thrived at the back of the house.
then they took turns riding Ella’s bike…..
Gotta go to check on Outer Banks rentals. See yah around!

I love the pictures of them playing in the rain! … When it rains here (which it does a LOT), it’s always a cold rain. Not good to play in. *lol*
Seems like a hard test for intro to first grade! I’m glad she gets to take it again later!
