Some improvements

This morning Eman and I went with Donald and Ella to school. We didn’t stay there actually but instead we went to Ate Lourdes’ house which is just across the street. Ate Lou is the wife of the church treasurer and she and her husband are one of the nicest couples that I ever met. They treat us like family and they adored Ella and Eman so much.

This was taken last March 29, a day after I gave birth. Ate Lou was in Davao that time for some important transactions and to visit her daughters who are studying there. They visited us at the hospital and as soon as they came inside the room, Ella started showing off her little brother. Eman is in the bassinet in case you didn’t notice. :-)

Since Ate Lou has just arrived from Davao last Monday, we needed to catch up about family affairs and church affairs as well and we didn’t had enough time yesterday so I asked her last night if we could come to her house and she said “OK ba!”. :-) So this morning after we dropped Ella in school, we crossed the street to her house with our little guy who was asleep. She let me lay Eman down in their bedroom while we had some chit chat in the living room. There is no dull moment with her because she is so chatty. :-) She asked us to stay for lunch so she could have company. I am a bit hesistant since because we didn’t plan on staying long but Ate Lou insisted and so we stayed. While she went to the market, Donald went out too to bring Ella snacks. Eman has just waken up from a short nap and he gamely poses for some snaps.

When Ate Lou came back, we went to the school to see how Ella is doing. They are finishing one round of reading when we got there. Here’s a photo of her and Teacher Beb’s who is tutoring her.

Each day we are paying P100 for a two-hour session and they are on their 6th day today. So far so good. I like the teacher because she looks like my cousin Manang Marichel. Ella has greatly improved and we hope she can make it to SPED class. If she can’t pass the entrance test then she could be in the regular class. What matters most is that she can now read which is the prerequisite to the first grade.

We had sumptuous lunch of pork sinigang, fish fillet and large watermelon that’s oh sooooo sweet.  I bought small one last weekend but it’s not as good as the one we had today. Donald cut one banana tree at the backyard and Ate Lou gave us some. I also got some dancing ladies from her garden which reminds me of my mother because she has lots of those in her garden before. I just finished my plate and we are still chatting when Donald announced rain is coming. We hurriedly left to buy diapers and a can of NAN infant’s formula at the grocery store before finally heading home. WE are giving him Enfamil LIPIL which Mama Ingrid sent. We had two cans and the last can is almost gone now. So each month he consumes one can of 729g. Hopefully this new formula (900g) will last for a month too. We are improving in our breastfeeding after learning some techniques in the internet and discovering some causes of his fussiness. Eman has only consumed ONE bottle yesterday from 2 bottles per day and we hope it will stay that way or better none at all in the coming days. We bought formula in case of emergencies. Girl scout di ba? ;-)

We used Enfamil Lipil with the girls too… The boys just got regular Enfamil, because they didn’t have the lipil kind back then. *lol*

Glad to hear that Ella is doing so well with her tutoring! Good for her!
