Countdown
Gee, I thought we will spend the rest of the night in darkness. Glad the power was back at 10:30pm after an hour interruption. I am working on the two other rooms in the house for several days now. They needed some organizing. Started both at the same time and I am hopping from one to another and until now neither of it was finished. I had no idea how come it always needs some work when no one uses them. Some of our stuffs are in the middle room and Ella’s toys are in the third room and it seems I am cleaning and organizing it every other month! We even never allowed Ella to go in there to play these past months to avoid a big mess but even so it still looks like it was ran over by a tornado. I can’t work straight because I am breastfeeding Eman from time to time but I am trying to get this done before Ella’s birthday.
Last Saturday, a relative of the church members died of old age so we went to their place this afternoon. There weren’t much people there and the church where the old woman was attending isn’t doing a service. I do not know why. Since the funeral will be tomorrow, Donald arranged a schedule of service with the family and he came back there tonight with other members of the church while Ella, Eman and I stayed at home. I am not going there at night time because it is very far from here and there was no other ride than a motorbike.
I am counting the days until Ella’s birthday. Time really flies so fast! I can’t believe it will be in less than a couple of weeks. She was expecting for a small party because she wanted to call all her friends over for a snacks. Since she just had a baby brother, I feel it is necessary for us to make her feel special on her birthday and so Donald and I are planning to throw her a little kiddie party. Not very fancy and big….we are planning to have spaghetti which is her favorite and maybe homemade burger and chicken too. If we can still squeeze in the budget the “dirty” ice cream, the kids will be so happy with that. Donald will let them play games and I will prepare prizes. We will also blow some balloons. As I am planning everything and computing the expenses on my head, I counted how many kids will Ella invite and I am flabbergasted that she has nearly 50 friends around the neighborhood and in the church! I think I am going crazy thinking how can we budget the meager amount intended for this????? Then there is the enrollment which will be next week and of course the school uniforms, school shoes and school supplies. If there is one great lesson that I have learned is to NEVER EVER wish to give birth on the month of June unless you have plenty of moolah to spend for both party and school fees.
Since I never expected that she will make an appearance on that month, what I can do with that is to sit down and talk with her to explain clearly that there would be no more party after this one. Wish me luck!

Ummm… That’s a lot of kids! Can’t you limit the amount she invites over?

Everyone is her friend. LOL Maybe I can and I am thinking about doing that but it is different here. You can never have a party with only few people especially in provinces where neighbors are like families. (of course the crazy ones are not a family to me anymore LOL).

how old will Ella be? And WHAT is “dirty ice cream?”

Hello Rose! Ella will be 6. Dirty ice cream is what we call a homemade ice cream sold by the ice cream man in a push cart.
