Poor Eman……I think he has colds now which he got from me. When his hay fever kicked in few days ago, I had colds the next day which is due to the weather. Although I was trying not to give him the virus, that is very impossible since I am nursing him which requires me to get near him and hold him. No matter how I wash my hands, still he got it and I hate it when baby’s sick. He can’t breath and it became worst tonight. I missed smelling his sweet smelling breath. Wish I will be well soon so we could play catch-the-nose again. Anway, I have to do some fast uploading of some photos from the camera while the little guy is sleeping. Donald was asking me not to take so much photos of the kids because if I get used to it, by next time we will be traveling without the laptop, we will need to get one of those memory sticks I found online.

8 Things I am looking forward to:

1. Ella’s debut
2. The day when Eman could sit on his own (but I dread the day when he learns to walk!)
3. My first pay from my new online job.
4. The balikbayan boxes from Mama Ingrid. I loved digging in those big boxes. It thrills me so much.
5. The first day of classes. Can’t wait to see Ella with her classmates.
6. Reunion with the Sellers family.
7. New year’s day when we could go back to my hometown to see my relatives and have never ending “tsibugan at kantahan” (eating and singing).
8. The day when we can have our own house.

8 Things I did yesterday:

1. Went to Ella’s school to meet her teacher.
2. Checked on the seamstress who will be sewing her uniform.
3. Traveled to Tagum City.
4. Bought school supplies and some stuffs we need for Ella’s party.
5. Finished my Greenwhich spaghetti (which is very unusual of me since I don’t like it that much).
6. Reposted Mama Ingrid’s ads on craiglist.
7. Talked to my boss about my problem understanding my coworker, Cecilia.

We just arrived from Tagum City at 9pm. It was unplanned trip.I guess I can’t make a decent post again tonight as I am having a very hard time understanding Cecilia. I should be working right now but my head is spinning. I really could not understand what she is trying to say and to make it worst, Eman is so fussy. I will just be back tomorrow to make a good post about our day.

Eman turned 2 months today. Where did the time go? It’s like yesterday when I was on the delivery room holding him for the first time.

Our day went well inspite of us being sick. I still finished the assignment that was given to me while Eman was not sa fussy as yesterday. He still has the allergies but it’s so cute how he smiles and giggles each time I aim the camera at him. He knew what the black thing was and he smiles instantly even when I have not yet cooed him. I need something to make me feel better so I am posting this:

I am still not feeling well and it has gotten worst. I feel I will be coming down with flu which is something that I really hate. Eman has also been whiny since yesterday due to his allergic rhinitis. I googled some more informations about it and found that it is also called “hay fever”. I found it so funny how one site explained that although the patient doesn’t have fever and it is not caused by hay, it is called “hay fever”. Poor Eman, he just wanted to be held. I hope he will be better tomorrow because we are missing his smiles that makes our day.

I don’t think I can make a decent post tonight. I feel nauseated and I just want to sleep early but I found myself too engrossed in searching high and low for steamed cake recipes and other goodies. We do not have oven but we do have steamer and I am glad I found some recipes that I wanted to make for Ella’s birthday. I hope I can find all the ingredients here in our little town that I doubt if I could.

Been very early on the computer today. After I gave Eman a bath at 6:30am, I started the computer and found an email from my Spanish boss asking for the output of an assignment that I have not yet done because I could not understand her Spanish assistant. I sent him an email that I will be submitting it before noontime and that made me feel sick. I only have some breaks each time Eman needs to be fed and held. After working, I wanted to nap but Eman was awake and was whiny because his allergic rhinitis is acting up again (dunno what caused it this time…maybe the weather) so I carried him outside in Ella’s hammock. We spent half an hour swinging and I threw up! Not right in there with Eman on my arms but on the sink. I was just too fast to ask Donald to take Eman from me because I feel I am going to drop him on the floor. I hope I will feel better tomorrow. Have to go!

Today is my mom’s 3rd death anniversary and like last year, we were not able to visit her gravesite. Looking back on the same day three years ago, I still can vividly recall what has happened and the pain is still there…..unchanged. We all wanted to be there but it won’t be practical and I know Mamang understands. Anyway, we visited her gravesite last month during my grandfather’s wake. Going back home will be difficult for us with our tight budget and with a very fussy little man. If only we have enough money to get us by until next month (that is after enrollment and Ella’s birthday), we could have gone home to be with my family and relatives. Also, we need to bring Eman to his pedia. It’s been two days now that Eman has some severe gas issues, or so I thought. We’ve been doing the tricks that I found on the internet but it doesn’t helped as much as it did. I could get him to sleep after helping him pass gas before but yesterday was different. He cries, wanting to be held upright always and he pooped 6 times which is unusual since he now have regular bowel movement which is once or twice a day.

Since Philippines celebrates death anniversaries, I bought half watermelon (can’t afford the whole because it weighs more than 7 kilos) and half kilo chicken. We have a pack of barbeque mix that’s sitting in the cabinet for so long so for dinner we had CHICKEN BARBEQUE (PORK FLAVOR). I am so dumb buying chicken when what we have is pork barbeque mix. But in fairness it tasted sooooo good! And the watermelon that I am dreaming about is sooooo sweet. We set aside the seeds so we could plant it in the yard. Twenty-five pesos a kilo is very expensive so we will be planting our own watermelon. Read more… »

Donald decided that today will be the last day of Ella’s tutorial class. Not that she is doing excellent in reading but we don’t have budget for it anymore. If I were to decide, I would want her to continue it until classes starts on June 1st. I am quite happy with the result of sacrificing to pay for it because Ella could now read. Well not that fast and not that excellent but at least she could confidently take the test on Monday. The reason why we chose to sign her up for a paid tutorial class instead of the free summer class is because we are in a hurry. We are running out of time. The summer class is packed with almost 40 kids so there would be a little chance of her to learn as fast as needed. See, when I brought her to take the Special Education (SPED) entrance test last Monday she could not read a word. Of course she can read some of it but I know she is not so sure of herself. If I would assess it, the test is for the third grade and if only it wasn’t written on the upper portion that it is for the 1st grade, I would have asked the teacher if she has given Ella the wrong test papers. We will let her take the test on Monday and let’s see what happens.
