health issues

Nothing interesting happened today but I got some bad news. My cousin, Manang Inday, sent me an IM saying my grandfather was brought home from the hospital because his body won’t take in any medication at all. What made it worst is that he is vomiting blood. He was once a very healthy man but when he came back from the the US (he is a WWII veteran), he came home with some health issues that lead him to what he is going through now at the age of 87.

Here’s my inseparable grandfather whom we call Tatang (Ilocano term for father) and my dear grandmother whom we call Inang (Ilocano term for mother).

Then my uncle, Papang Alfred, is also getting weaker each day due to his diabetes and its complications and is always screaming in pain. Add do it is another uncle was diagnosed of cancer. I have not asked more info but I heard last time that he has a mass on his throat.

This is what I dreaded, to be wanting to go home to my hometown but money is an issue right now and traveling for more than 6 hours with a 3 weeks old baby is very hard. Since we moved here in Trento May of last year, we only got to go home twice. I even don’t know if we can visit my mom’s grave site on her 3rd death anniversary.

Anyway, for today Ella stayed inside the house 99% of the day. She has gone out just to take a bath early in the afternoon. She always runs to her brother’s side when she hears him cry, pat him lightly on the arm or the legs and will talk to him as if he understands “mommy is coming….stop crying now….” :-)

Eman has changed his eating schedule. Usually he eats before he takes a bath, then he eats again before his morning nap. Today he eats more and naps less and he vomits milk every after nursing. It also passes through his nose. I am watching him closely as he might swallow his vomit and will go through his lungs which is dangerous. I am very disturbed as we don’t have any hospitals or even decent clinic here but I hope it’s all because of too much eating.

Alicia used to spit up through her nose when she was a baby too! It always tweaked people out. *lol* … But it never seemed to bother her, and she outgrew it in a few months.

Sorry to hear about all the illnesses. :( … Wish you could visit.
