Tatang went home to the Lord this noon. I still don’t have all the details yet but am certain that we will miss him. Goodbye Tatang….’til we meet again.

Nothing interesting happened today but I got some bad news. My cousin, Manang Inday, sent me an IM saying my grandfather was brought home from the hospital because his body won’t take in any medication at all. What made it worst is that he is vomiting blood. He was once a very healthy man but when he came back from the the US (he is a WWII veteran), he came home with some health issues that lead him to what he is going through now at the age of 87.
Here’s my inseparable grandfather whom we call Tatang (Ilocano term for father) and my dear grandmother whom we call Inang (Ilocano term for mother). Read more… »
Ella was having some “drama episodes” last night because she has been scolded for being so strong willed. She deserves it but then like Manang Barbara (our godmother) said, Ella is special and we have to work with her to love her brother. So while she lay on her bean bag watching tv, she was surprised when I propped the boppy pillow and laid Eman on top of her.
It was like yesterday when I first met this little guy and each day he brings joy to the whole family. It’s really different to have a baby at home (add to it is a sweet big sister who is very protective of her little bro). He turned 21 days old today and here’s some of his weekly photos that I would like to share.
7 days old
I was suppose to go to the market this morning. It’s Saturday, the only day we could shop for cheaper vegetables and fish and the ONLY day I could find ukay-ukay all over the market (oh not really all over but imagine a long stretch of tents of gently and harshly
used clothing and other goods from abroad). I just wanted to enjoy going through those mounts of ukay-ukay, to be able to smell the scent of the ones that are from the US. I would know just from the smell if it’s from US, Korea or Japan because I’ve been selling ukay-ukay before…the very reason why I just can’t seem to turn away from those colorful mounts during market day. But even if I am addicted to it, I could go there without spending much or nothing at all because I am very fussy about the brand, the materials and of course the PRICE. I wouldn’t buy something that to me, is too pricey for an ukay-ukay. Since Trento is a little town, ukay-ukay’s here are way cheaper than other places but the good were already being sold in bigger towns. It is better that way because I often go home empty-handed.
Last week, Ella whose two little hands are always busy with her arts and crafts has made a gift for his little bro. It’s a figure of Eman using play dough. Notice that it is wearing a baseball cap.
Look, Ate Ella made you something! It’s YOU…you look like him.
I thought I was hallucinating yesterday when I came out of the bedroom and found Donald scooping up a load of dirty clothes among several piles on the floor. When he said last Saturday that he’ll do the laundry on Monday, I just rolled my eyes because he is worst than me in procrastinating.
Thanks anyway that he realized that if he won’t do it, we would all go naked.
Ella had her class in the VBS in the morning. The neighbor who had a motor trike brings them in the Alliance church every morning but yesterday they left Ella behind so Donald brought her there. I was a bit disappointed because she’s paying, how come the driver didn’t wait for her?
I am missing our little girl because she’s spending mornings there at the VBS and with other kids after her nap in the afternoon. She’s loving having a little bro in the house that mommy and daddy can be busy with because she got to ride her bike or play with her friends more. I couldn’t say no always because she’s very good at making me feel guilty that her life is “not normal” being confined here at home.
So I always leave it to Donald to decided if she can go and explore the world by herself and her friends. As long as she’s just a yell call away and that she’s with the kids who has passed the background check.

Ella was out playing with the neighborhood kids yesterday afternoon and she went home bringing her “pregnant” friend Michelle. Since we cannot let her new friend to freely go around the house because of Eman, this is where Ella houses her.
Priceless smiles with his grandkids.
Donald uploaded on Youtube the video I took of Eman and his pacifier. Can’t resist sharing this here.
Nothing interesting happened today but one thing frustrates me and that is my breast (I must say TWO things…the left and the right) Eman had two bottles of two ounces each tonight because he isn’t contented with what he gets. He wets his diapers 6 to 8 times a day and poops 4 to 6 times a day which is a sign that he gets enough milk but he still would cry. I’d check if he’s wet and for whatever is causing his fussiness and when I put my cheek near the side of his mouth, he would attempt to suck it.
