As Ella grew, we noticed her growing passion for animals. She just adores them all. I remember when I was a child, I have a puppy but I don’t care about other animals. While we were still in Davao, Donald and I happen to pass by a vendor that sells puppies and I stopped to look at them. They are very cute pups. Mostly white. A couple of them has brown spots on their ears or somewhere in their face but one caught my attention. The white pup with blue eyes which is the fattest and cutest of them all. Ella wanted to have a dog of her own, she actually wanted to have a puppy that she could raise to be a dog. She already have Bogart but this old dog is not really hers. What she wanted is a pup that she could teach tricks and Bogart is already a senior citizen.

Donald haggled with the price and I think the price is fair enough at P800.00. The vendor claims it is high breed pup but I do not really care if it wasn’t. I prefer cross bred pups or just the native ones because they are not very susceptible to diseases and they are not hard to feed. Although we both wanted to buy it, we decided to think about it more so we went to Uyanguren to buy spray paint for Ella’s bike. While we are walking away from the puppies, Donald was asking me if I really wanted the puppy and he said if I do, we could buy it right then. I shook my head and told him that it is not our priority at that moment. But oh boy, he was bugging me for almost three days saying he’s hearing the sound of the puppy begging us to bring him home. Talk about falling in love to that puppy the first time! You could really tell that he REALLY wanted to buy it not just for Ella but for himself. I almost gave in actually but the thought of having Emmanuel soon, we couldn’t have a puppy in the house. I know we could train the pup to use the litter box and Ella would really be happy having a dog of her own but I got issues on dogs inside the house….baby crawling on the floor….dog licking the baby….blah blah blah. Of course I couldn’t oppose if Ella wanted that her dog be inside the house so I firmly said no to Donald for over a bazillion times.

When Ella learned about the puppies for sale, she kept on asking me to buy one for her. I thought about giving Donald a pinch for being too talkative but I am glad Ella has gotten over it now that she found a new pet. She was very very thrilled and happy about it. Ladies and gentelmen, meet Spidy…..

After being gone for three weeks, we arrived home with some clutter all over the house and a spiderweb over our bed. I didn’t notice until I saw her on the bed trying to reach for the spider with a plastic canister and a cover on both of her hands. She couldn’t reach it so she begged for me to help her. Since I am having big trouble moving too much, I told her to ask her Daddy and so Donald caught it for her and placed it inside the canister. She was very excited and she even named it Spidy. For two nights now, she sleeps with Spidy on her side.

Donald and I shares with her excitement since we saved money from buying her a pet. Donald helps with feeding. They soaked a small cotton ball with water which serves as his water. and tonight he has mosquito for dinner. While I was taking some close-up photos of Spidy, Ella said, “Mommy, tama na ‘yan kasi naiistorbo na siya sa flash. Baka isipin niya na magdating na si Lord dahil sa mga ilaw…” (Mommy, that’s enough because he is disturbed with the flash. he might think that the Lord is coming because of the lights)
