I feel so lucky that I only feel my eyes hurt once since we got our computer. Maybe this is something to do with the monitor because when I use pc’s with CRT monitors, my head will be in circles even after just an hour of staring at it. Ours has LCD one and I am glad about it because I don’t want to wear my glasses again. Although I have a lightweight frame which cost me more than $50 10 years ago, I still find it very uncomfortable having it right on my face every time I read a book or sit on the computer. Since it was too expensive for me, I just bring it to the optometrist for lens replacement each time I feel the need of having it changed. Read more… »
Archives for February, 2009
….we tied the knot at Uyanguren Church of Christ, Davao City. Like all couples, it was one of the most momentous event in our lives.
When I say I mean it, I really don’t….

Last night I said I am not going home yet, that I am not dragging my feet back home and that I really mean it. Forget it. After debating with myself, I gave in and packed our stuffs. Although I really wanted to stay for the weekend, I decided it is best to go home since I am not in the mood to commute. We were ready at 4am, waiting for a text message from Ate Gina. Donald changed Ella’s clothes while she’s sleeping while I do the final packing of stuffs. I already put everything in one corner and waited. After a few moments, Donald went to get a taxi and Cheche (still half-awake) ushered us out of the gate. We didn’t bother waking my sister Crislyn and BIL because like us, they were still up until past midnight because the neighbors at the side are so loud. They were drinking and talking about nonsense stuffs loudly that I wanted to throw a stone over their roof. After their “noise barrage” and before we could finally go to sleep, a neighbor at the back thought that the best time to chop woods is at 2am and so that is what he did.
Such crazy neighbors! Read more… »
Aside from making Kiaw-kiaw’s life mesirable and playing Counter Strike in the computer after she got grounded, Ella spent a good amount of energy playing with the golf ball she has found at my sister’s place. She had an idea how to play golf which I didn’t know of. She’s showing me how to hit it with her imaginary club gracefully but she calls the game “baseball”.
I have to correct her twice and she will say “Oo, nga yun ang ibig kong sabihin.” (Yes, that’s what I mean.)
And since there’s no club at the house, she just bounces the golf ball and when it hit the part of the concrete floor with a little crack she mused, “Mommy, dito alto…..doon soprano.” (Mommy, this part is alto….there is soprano.)
We were amazed at how she describe the kind of sound it makes when it bounces. It indeed makes a lower sound when bounced at the cracked part of the concrete floor while it makes higher sound when bounced in the other parts of the house. Read more… »
Our day started early (or should I say it ended late yesterday?) because we are still wide awake at 3am. Donald couldn’t sleep so we chatted for a while and he decided to watch a James Bond movie in the laptop which he found so boring. I, on the other hand, tries to catch sleep by tossing and turning. Everything doesn’t seem to work so I just waited for my eyes to just close by itself which happened at nearly 5am. It was drizzling and gloomy the entire day. I wanted to go out and buy the fabric that I needed to sew a couple of receiving blankets but like thhe previous days, I don’t feel like going out. I plan to do it tomorrow morning but just tonight, we got a message that we will be leaving for Trento tomorrow at 4am.
Just when I already had in mind that we are still spending our 6th wedding anniversary on Sunday here in Davao. Read more… »
Thinking about moving makes me dizzy even when we do it every year and even when we have what we needed. The fridge, washer, TV and stove has still the original boxes so it would save us a lot from spending for boxes and saves the appliances from scratch while moving. W e already have huge boxes and sack bags for the other stuffs and we could also get those garbage bags to put the blankets, pillows, mattresses and everything else that needs shield from rain. It is really hard to find a closed moving vehicle here. We usually hire those open trucks which is such a risk from soaking all your stuffs when weather is not good.

So it’s five days and still counting. After today, there is no need to hurry going home since weekend is coming. I am not just worried about Ella’s school but of the chicken too. Unlike our previous trips, we decided not to leave them at the neighbor’s care because we thought we will just be away for a couple of days. I asked Donald to put enough food and water which he did. He said he put in there more than enough that’ll last for a week. I just hope those darn chicken didn’t ate it all in just one sitting because if they did, by now they are cursing Donald for not telling them they will be orphan for 5 days and maybe 6 or even a week. In a month I will be celebrating the first birthday of my blog. Yay! It’s like I’ve just started blogging yesterday. Oh where, oh where did the time go? Thanks to my sister Crislyn who taught me blogging 101. I remember the sleepless nights that I spent tweaking my theme which ended up in a fatal error.
;The price I got from wanting more from the free theme that I have downloaded. I also got the chance to learn more about parenting, crafts and everything else. I also found some blogs that I’ve been attached to and kept on checking for updates about their personal lives. I remember too when I went crazy on blinkies and pasted everything that I liked on my blog so it wouldn’t look so bare. Read more… »
So we’re here in Davao for 3 days…..and counting. We could have gone home yesterday even when Kuya Bernard and company postponed the trip but I am not riding a bus this time. Maybe the choleric in me is kicking in because I already set in my mind that we are not commuting going here and back there. Don’t get me wrong. I am not “maarte” because I can ride the most rusty bus in the archipelago only that I already had it in mind that we will be travelling straight. No stop-overs to every town’s terminal. I could bear that. The stop-over thing but not now, not tomorrow, not this week. Not when I already had it in mind that we are going home with Kuya Bernard. It was already planned so it is fixed. No more changing or else I declare World War.
