Torn between two lovers

I can’t get enough sleep with my growing belly and each day it seems to grow more. :-( I kept changing my pillow (we have different sizes and shapes  ) and my position but it does little help. Still it was raining until we went to bed last night but I predicted there would be a clear sky today and it sure was. Not as clear as I wanted but since it was raining for a week now, I didn’t expect much. Just a fine, little drizzle would be alright for me to do the laundry and that is what we had. :-)

I was awakened by Ella flashing her little pink spotlight above her head. She was looking for that darn mosquito. She said something bit her. I helped her find it and there really was a black winged insect but I didn’t catch it. I can’t move that much. I’ll just try after I give birth and that darn thing would really need to fly for his life (as if it was still alive when that time comes) I coaxed her back to sleep since it was still dark but her eyes are as wide as the owl’s. She has too many questions that I don’t know if I have answered it right since I was half awake. Like “why do rooster wakes up earlier than we?”, “Is it already morning Mommy? Why it is still a little bit dark?” and when I said it was already morning, she asked me again “Why are we still sleeping? Because it is not SO morning yet?” She sure have tons of questions in her little brain and the earlier we start our day, the more I became crazy trying to answer each one. Glad that she answers some of it herself. ;-)

Then I heard our cellphone ring, tried to find it under the pillows and read the message. It was from Teacher Jane (Ella’s teacher) letting us know that their class will resume on Monday because she has to clean the entire classroom today because it was flooded yesterday. If their school was flooded, then the water was really high because it was on a much higher ground like where we are. Now I know why the pig (oh I just learned this morning that it was not actually just one but THREE pigs) are on the neighbor’s porch. Ella and I are wide awake while Donald was still in lalaland. As we lay in bed, staring at the ceiling, we hear the neighbor at the back play their videoke machine. It’s not right to do that at that early but I was fine with that for that moment because it feels like a new beginning…a wonderful way to begin the day…I was singing the song in my head when Ella mused, “Mommy, ‘yan ang favorite song ko.” (Mommy, that’s my favorite song.) I stopped and tried not to laugh. You want to know the song? “Torn between two lovers, feeling like a fool…loving both of you is breaking of the rules”

After some snuggle, I glanced at the clock and it says 5:27am. I think it’s time for me to start loading the washing machine so I could finish everything before lunch so I asked Ella if she wanted to go out with me. She could watch a movie while I do the laundry. She agreed but when she tried playing the DVD player, the thing where the DVD should be put won’t budge and so I sent her back to bed. I did 7 full loads in the machine and when Donald woke up, I was nearly done but he helped me anyway. He went to buy me siopao and apples for breakfast first before getting his hands on the laundry. We had a bit drizzle but the day is way better than yesterday and the other days. If we are lucky, everything will get dry in a week. :-)

After all that has need to be cleaned in the kitchen (where I did the washing), I went to straighten my back in bed and dozed off. I am too tired but I felt better that we did one task after days of just sleeping and eating. Hopefully tomorrow we would have a fine weather so there would be no more pigs on the porch.

7 loads of laundry? Sounds like laundry day at my house! *lol* … It doesn’t take too many days to get that much either, what with having 4 kids.

Hope there isn’t too much damage in Ella’s school. Seems like there is rain and flooding all over!
