I am such a moron! I lost $15 from my paypal and I just discovered an hour ago. Maybe I have the right to vent in here after all this is my blog. Last December 18, 2008 I checked on the internet for Holiday ecards that I could send to Mama Ingrid. My original plan was to order a two potted roses that comes with a bear at Walmart but when I tried paying it online, there was a problem with my paypal or my bank account. I think my bank account isn’t verified or something by the store. Okay, fine so I went searching for ecards and stumbled on Bluemountain.com. Not actually stumbled, it was a sort of coming back since I have been to this site in the past. I was happy to see they have free one month trial for the ecards of which I registered. It was a very easy registration and I am done in just a few moments. I just filled a form where I wrote my name and address. Then I gayly chose a few ecards that I personalized and set a date for the delivery. I wanted it to be sent on the 24th and the 25th of December and thinking I might not be able to get online on that dates. After getting a thank you email from Mama Ingrid that she did get the cards, I never came back to this site since but I was very surprised when I checked my paypal balance that I made a payment to bluemountain.com of $15.99 as a one year subscription fee!!!! I went to their site and tried registering for their free one month trial under Donald’s name and after filling out their form…there was another form that asks for my paypal address and in quite tiny print it says something like, If after the trial program I didn’t wish to continue, then I can call or email them cancelling the subscription. I hate to say I wasted $15 because I didn’t read between the lines. But hey, I think they are did it on purpose, on printing it in tiny letters…so there would be a big chance of people skipping that part. To me it was like bluemountain stole money from me. They could have at least sent me an meail confirming about my subscription but what happened was the money was taken from me without my knowledge. What else could I do but not to be a moron to be careful next time and to send over thousand of ecards the whole year round. I love their cards and even books before I even saw their website but now I am not buying anything from them ever again.

*sigh* … I’ve been caught in a scam like that before, but sadly it was for MUCH worse than $15.
