My huge gift

I am one of the few “lucky” creature on earth blessed with such a huge and out of shape feet. :-( After more than twenty years of cursing them, I finally realized they are a blessing and I am lucky that I could run faster and balance well with these gifts. Only that each time I try to buy a pair of shoes, I should scour the city in three days before finding the right pair. I am not into stylish shoes. Just the simple flats will do but since size 10 for women is not at all normal over this side of the earth, I feel very awful and wishing I could one day go to the shoemaker and ask him to trim my toes. Read more… »

My loots for today

I am back to my “ukay-ukay” shopping mode again after having a long leave due to the lack of funds. Money was very tight the past weeks. Just enough for food and bills, so now that I got my earnings from blogging, I rewarded myself to pick a few. I had three maternity tops and one that I could use after the baby decides to make an appearance. I wasn’t able to take some pics because I was too excited to wear them. They’re still drying outside so I will just show you my other loots.

Must see in Georgia Coast

For the Holidays, I am looking forward to going to the city but if we just lived there, I’d rather want a trip to a place full of stuffs that could amaze me like Georgia Coast. There’s so much to see and so much to experience that would want you coming back for more. For the music lovers, catch the Dublin Philantrophic Orchestra on January 22. For a brief overview, it was founded in mid 1800′s which presents standard classical repertoire and has premiered the works of contemporary composers. For the food lovers, come and join the 9th Annual Taste of Savannah on February 20 and indulge in the servings of the favorite menu items of more than 20 Savannahs’ exceptional restaurants and caterers. I am very impressed at the businesses that looks after the welfare of the people, emphasizes on philantrophy and makes it a point to always give something back to the community. It just doesn’t brings smile to the people but it could also bring more blessings to the company. What the world needs is the huge effort to increase the well-being of humankind that one company does.  Read more… »

While Donald watched one of the concerts in CD by the Beatles, Ella sat beside him. When the band started to sing one of their famous songs….

Ella: Ang gwapo nila!!!! (They are so handsome!!!!)

The camera started to focus Ringo.

Ella: Daddy, patay na siya? (Daddy, is he dead?)

Donald: Hindi pa. (Not yet.) Read more… »

My FIL called this morning, asking if Donald could send via LBC the CD of the pictures that was taken in his little farm two weeks ago. Since we are going there probably Monday, Donald said he would just drop it on their house so he could pick up the chicken. So I realized there’s so many things that I haven’t yet told you about our trip to Bukidnon. We brought Ella’s two chicken, the white ones, because Ella didn’t let us butcher them on my birthday and I do not want to leave them to the neighbor’s again. Donald packed them inside a box and luckily they survived the long trip. If they only knew what their fate could be, they must’ve plotted a plan to escape while they were still here and if that plan failed, they could have hung themselves or maybe drown themselves in their waterer. Moving

I am overly excited to go to Davao so I could find out the gender of the baby and maybe pick some on sale baby stuffs at the mall so I was sweet talking to Donald about having an ultrasound near the mall. My doctor’s clinic is in the western part of the city and from my BIL’s place, it would take us nearly an hour by taxi to get there. Such a long travel for me considering that by that time, we have just arrived from here after a good three hour bus ride. I was wondering if my doctor has any plans on moving her clinic somewhere near downtown so it would be more convenient for the patients and also so she could get more walk-in clients. Although I presume she might be one of the sought after OB-gyne in the city (because even her clinic is almost over the mountain) she has still so much patients seeing her, getting the best location will be very beneficial for both parties.  Read more… »

Color me beautiful

When I was a kid, I love the shade of pink. I love pink dress, pink umbrella, pink school bag…..but I wasn’t lucky enough to have all my stuffs in pink. Then when I was in high school, I love wearing navy blue tops because it makes me look fairer. And in college, burgundy is my theme because like the navy blue, it makes me glow too. ;-) A couple of year after I went crazy over burgundy, I fell in love with lavender and that is why when Donald and I got married, that was our motif along with pink. I had no clue when exactly was the time I turned my loyalty to the shade of brown. I don’t know if my eyes are still in perfect condition because I see myself prettier in brown than any other color. Shoes, bags, tops even nails. Then I remember the book (I think the title is Color me Beautiful) of our missionary in Davao before. It talks about “your color”, that there’s some colors that won’t look good on you yet it looks so stunning to others. I agree to that 200% because you can’t see me wear white except during occasions that calls for white like wedding and funerals. I don’t know why but I feel I am ugliest with this color. I honestly did not find out in the book what’s my shade but I know for sure it’s brown because I just love it and I am sticking to it! :-) Read more… »
