The way Daddy does….

Opposite to the very boring day yesterday, we had accomplished some tasks that are both planned and unplanned. For days now I am planning to make caramel coated popcorn. Donald and I are brainstorming about what business to start in this little town that won’t require big capital, product that could sell, has longer shelf life and something that we will enjoy doing. I have this plan on selling online and around town imported apparels because I agree that people can still walk in streets with an empty stomach but they could not walk in the streets naked. ;-) But I also believe that if you go into food business, you are assured that you can sell because people will really eat no matter how hard life is. So there it goes, we ended up planning to make caramel coated popcorn which we believe could sell fast among students and people with sweet tooth.

Donald and Ella liked it so much and I do too! :-) Ella was so thrilled when we told her that she can bring some to school tomorrow and that she can share it to her classmates. We need to hear the kids feedback because they are our target market. ;-)

But of course there are ingredients that could not be found around town so I did some substitution. Plus we need an oven for this so we might get a transformer for the convection oven that Mama Ingrid sent us. This should be baked to be crunchier but this soft and chewy popcorn is just right for me. They say dream big so I am dreaming of having this business to boom and someday we can open an outlet and give away some stylish but cheap stuffs as promotional items. I am crossing my fingers here.

In the afternoon, Ella was even more thrilled when Donald brought her bike out. It has been so long since she rode her bike which she has already outgrown. Donald was eyeing for a new one as a surprise for her when the baby comes but I would like her to have a toy laptop instead which she could carry when we have some trips and will keep her from getting bored. But educational toy laptops are as expensive as a new bike so how about getting her a new baby doll? Her only baby doll Carrot has been really tortured from getting dressed each day. I once sew her left foot because it was literally came off and I am afraid that I could not do anything to restore its head which will come off anytime soon because it is attached to its body made of cloth with fiber fill inside. There’s no way I can sew it. Carrot has turned 1 year old a few days ago but since it’s a cheapo doll, she’s dying slowly. Even so, Ella still loves playing with it and she even washed her clothes and hung each one all by herself.

I just let her do it because she’s been asking for weeks now and I always say she can wash them when there’s enough sunshine. i didn’t know she’s been waiting for the sun to come out until when she came from school this morning and said it’s time for her to do the laundry. I went to check how she hung the clothes and I was amazed at how well she did. :-) She did it just the way her Daddy does.

Oh and before I forget, one accomplishment today was clearing and uprooting weeds and unwanted bushes in the front yard. While Donald was outside watching Ella rode her bike with other kids, I decided I wanted to get some fresh air so I joined him there but I ended up pulling weeds. Donald was very concerned about me and the baby and so he got his hands dirty too and the work was finished just before dusk. :-)

Josh has a cheap play laptop… Well, he gave to to Amanda, so I guess Amanda has it. *lol* … He got it for Christmas years ago (from Joe’s sister), but he outgrew it. Amanda loves it though. :)
