my life, my family, my dreams, my hopes and fantasies

Brainy Baby

As me and my sister Crislyn looks forward for the day that our younger sister Cheche will finally graduate from college this March, Ella is now getting impatient to graduate from Kindergarten too. She said she’s tired of getting up and taking a bath so early but I told her that when she’s in 1st grade in June, she needs to get up and go to school earlier. I couldn’t blame her because even I feels like staying in bed with this very gloomy weather. My thanks to her rain gears (boots, raincoat, jacket and umbrella) that these help us motivate Ella to go to school even if it raining. It thrills her to wear those and when she asks if she could be absent from school because of rain, I just remind her that it’s her chance to wear her rain gears and it ALWAYS works. ;-)

Last night when Ella should be in bed, she said she needs to practice reading because Teacher Jane said she will let them stand during the class if they can’t read. I was doing something in the computer so Donald helped her practice reading. She’s improving and I am glad because I am hoping she could pass the entrance examination for SPED in one of the Elementary schools here. There are two public schools that they say offers quality education. One is the Central Elementary School and the West Elementary School. The former has SSC or special science class while the latter has Special Education. I hope she could be in SPED. I am crossing my fingers on this!

The weather is very good reason to hybernate and I have proven that when you do, you could forget about food. We had spaghetti for dinner last night (it was a very early dinner at 5pm) and we had it still today. it is freezing cold here and it makes us lazy to cook and eat.

Ella discovered her Brainy Babies DVD and she enjoyed it so much. I actually bought it last year but it doesn’t had any appeal to her then so it just sat there for a year until finally she noticed it. I think she already have outgrown it because she’s already 5 and is familiar with the lessons. This I think is the reason why she was enjoying it now. :-) That she can answer the questions correctly and could read the words that flashes in the screen. She just can’t take the pressure last year and so she waited until she’s old enough for it and she sat infront of the tube comfortably like it has home theater carpeting.

That’s one of the things my kids like about homeschooling… We don’t start school as early as the public schools do. *lol*
