I am not in the best mood to blog tonight but I think I have no good reason why so now I will bore you again with today’s activities here in the jungle province. We woke up 9am today  and this may be the cause why I feel very tired. Actually I was already awake at 8am but since Donald and Ella were still sleeping (they stayed up watching TV until 1am last night), I went back to sleep. When I finally decided to jump out of bed and check my emails, the power went off. I tried to switch on the CPU but I found out Donald had unplugged it last night so I plugged it and the fan died the moment I inserted the plug in the other socket. Unsure if I have caused the power to went off, I went back to bed and waited for it to come back hoping that there is really a power interruption in town. After 30 minutes, I woke up Donald to announce the bad news.

The neighbor told Donald that the other neighbor’s electric wire that was tapped to them was burnt. The fire was found crawling on the wire and luckily he put it out before it caused greater damage. They lost power because of it and I was wondering if this is the reason too why we don’t have power. Donald went to report the incident to teh electric corporation office at 11am and was told that they will send someone to check on it at 1pm.

While waiting for 1pm to come, I let the time pass by making some finishing touches to Ella’s phot albums. I remember to check our main switch here so I pulled down the switch, opened the box and checked for burned wirings or fuse. I did not see anything wrong so I closed the box and pushed the switch up then went to my business. After a few minutes, I heard a roaring sound like of our water pump when it runs to store water in the tank. I ignored it and kept doing what I started but after a while I decided to check the fridge and sure the light in there was on. Yay! We have power! Until now I am still wondering what happened since other neighbors around here has electricity.

Ella took the opportunity to play and call one of the neighbor’s kid. They played in the other room while I mess in the living room. We have not slept in the afternoon since we were very late to wake up this morning. We went to the market and had a merienda there. Donald and I were hoping that we could have siopao from Julie’s but we were disappointed that everything was sold early. Instead of going to the other bakeshop for siopao, we decided to try their other pastries. I also had isaw (chicken intestine barbeque) from the vendor while Ella had popsicle and choco crinkles. I asked Donald to order chicken and pork barbeque for dinner too.

We had a long walk from the market to the highway and from there, we took a cab to get us home. Just when we arrived at 6pm, the man sent to check our power line came asking us what’s the problem. We said there was none now and we thank him for coming over.

When the electric company says 1pm, expect the help to come 5 hours late.

Glad you got your power back in… I hate when we lose power, but thankfully it doesn’t happen very often. :)
