ACTUALLY is one of the words that amuse me lately. Ella was doing good in learning to speak English and three nights ago, when I was telling her to come up in bed she made me and Donald burst in laughter. “ACTUALLY, ‘di pa ako inaantok.” (Actually, I am not sleepy yet.) And she pronounced the word pretty well. I asked her where on earth did she get that word and she answered, “Galing kay Rabbit.” (It’s from Rabbit.) Yeah, Rabbit. The keritz lover in Winnie the Pooh movies. She’s really learning. ![]()
Today is the last day of their final exam. I had this urge to do some yard cleaning again this morning after she and Donald left for school. I was having a nice time pulling weeds in the backyard when it started to drizzle. Glad that Donald was already here, he’s in the shower and came running with a towel wrapped around his waist to collect the laundry in the clothesline. Yep, they are not dry yet and this is the third day after we did the laundry. Just when everything was put in the shade, the drizzle became rain. Ella came home soaked. She was waiting for Daddy to get her but the waiting was like forever (since she finished the two tests earlier) so she decided to go home with her classmate but they realized they won’t fit in that small umbrella, they went back.
We had pork stew for lunch since it was cold and raining. Had a long nap in the afternoon. The rain finally stopped when I woke up and I went on with my yard work again. It was getting dark when I went inside the house. Donald was not in the mood to cook and I am not either so we ended up going to the market for dinner. Where could we dine here but Trento Resto. There is actually another place like it that was newly opened but their food is not worth your money. Since this morning, I was craving for cheeseburger and spaghetti so that is what I ordered. Their own version of McDo’s spaghetti and Burger McDo. Ella ordered their version of Chowking Lauriat consisted of rice, 1 piece chicken, pansit guisado, fish crackers and banana cake while Donald tried their own version of Greenwhich double sized pizza. When our order was delivered to our table, Ella wanted to have spaghetti and burger so I ended up eating her order. I wasn’t happy at all but I had no choice but I made sure she knew that I wasn’t pleased and I said firmly that next time she should eat what she ordered. To make me feel alright, Ella offered to share her food and I did not refuse at all.
I had a few bites of her burger and probably 20 strands of pasta.
While we are eating, I reminded her to sleep early tonight because she has to go to school tomorrow. To my amusement, she answered “Wala na kaming klase kasi SUNBREAK na.” (We don’t have a class because it’s sunbreak already.)
SUNBREAK : A two weeks play and movie time in between the first and second semesters in school.
I almost had a heart attack right there in our table. The kid really has her own vocabulary.
When we are done with our dinner, we walked across the street to Julie’s bakeshop (yeah! Trento has a decent bakeshop now!) and bought Selecta’s Limited Edition Langkasuy Con Ube (jackfruit and cashew with purple yam).

Yum yum yum…delicioso!!!

Hmmm… Perhaps you should have shared HALF of your order and told her she must eat half of what SHE ordered : )
