Woke up too weak to move. Stayed in bed until Ella left for school and was still under the covers when she was back. Yesterday she made Donald angry when he went to pick her up to school and she was still there writing, the last to finish I think. Like what the teacher always say, she write very well but she is such a talkative girl. So yesterday while the others are copying what the teacher has written on the board, Ella was busy talking to her seatmate. When the time to dismiss the class, she was still halfway through it.

Donald was fuming mad when they arrived at home and he took out the switch he has prepared for Ella. After the sermon and a couple of swat, I called Ella in the bedroom and asked what was it that she and her seatmate was talking about. She sais she was telling her seatmate that her Mamang Eling (my mom) has died of cancer and that she misses her so much. She said she has another grandma but she doesn’t misses her the way she misses her Mamang Eling.

Ella is such a talkative girl. She makes friends easily and she treats everyone as her OLD acquaintances. But even she is that talkative, we never had a problem with it last school year. She has her attention to the teacher and never did I heard her teacher complain of like what happened yesterday. I did what I could to let Ella understand that she needs to pay attention to the teacher always and not to talk to anyone when the class in going on. But partly I am blaming the teacher too. Why would she allow Ella do her own business? Why can’t she get Ella’s full attention? This is my dilemma when I learned that in the class there is only one teacher and over 40 students. We enrolled Ella there assuming that it is the BEST preschool in this lazy and boring town. We have asked many people about it and they unanimously say Light and Life Learning Center is the best among the rest. So we did enrol Ella there only to find out after the first day of school that the admininstration has offered a scholarship grants for the poor funded by a foreign organization. From 25 students each class the previous school year, it ballooned to 40 plus something. If only I knew, I could have enrolled Ella in the public school where there are only 30 or more students with no monthly fees.

When Ella arrived from school today she announced that she sat on the teacher’s desk during their writing time. I asked her why and she answered, “Sinabi ko kay teacher sa mesa niya ako susulat para mabantayan niya ako.” (I asked Teacher if I can write on her desk so she can watch over me.) I was relieved that Ella is willing to do the move.

Know what motivates her to study well? She wanted Barbie and Disney Princesses stuffs like comforter, lampshade, nice pink and white bed, , toy laptop, dolls, bicycle and bags. She wanted to have her own room flooded with this stuffs. Now she is into Hello Kitty too. Two ladies were featured in TV for their Hello Kitty collections and she wanted to have a car with lots of Hello Kitty accessories inside, oven toaster, watches, bags, pillows and more. When she asked me when she could have those, I said when she gets a good job after college so she needs to study well.

Laundry is still waiting for me. I hope and I just hope I can get myself to do it tomorrow if I feel better. It was so hot during the day and at half past 5 pm it rained so hard that our power was shut off for a few minutes. I hope the weather won’t make me feel more sick. I should be in the city tomorrow for my doctor’s appointment and we are planning to do some hospital hunting for the best but not too expensive place to deliver the baby in April. Since our earnings from OHJ has not yet sent, I decided to postpone it and maybe next week we could make it there.
